Chapter 1424: Chapter 1010, Test Skill_2
The ability to deflect bullets isn’t such a rare effect.
In Black Stone Town, when facing the Level 12 elder Bawudong from the Church of Divine Punishment, he had a layer of black scale armor on his body surface.
At that time, it could also deflect bullets.
Philippa rubbed his abdominal muscles, "Speaking of which, this ability is really nice. I’d like to train in it too."
Wu Heng put on a coat, while the others also came over.
The Lady said, "There’s no problem with Wu Heng being a hero. There’s some danger in you all learning this, so let’s set the restriction to Level 15. Those who reach Level 15 can train."
After a slight pause, she said, "Mini can try now. She has awakened the Fire Ability, close to the first stage of the Body Refining Technique."
Upon hearing this, the others were somewhat regretful, but Viola’s eyes lit up; she was already at Level 19.
Being able to learn this skill would definitely greatly enhance her strength.
Wu Heng said, "Viola can try learning it. Mini should wait a bit longer; it would be bad if any danger appeared."
The Lady nodded, "Alright!"
"Thank you, Milady," Viola bowed and thanked her.
A few people returned to the living room.
Mini and Robey prepared briefly, then went out to buy materials needed for the second stage.
Wu Heng chatted a bit with the others and went upstairs to take a shower.
The others also went about their own business.
...
In the study.
The Lady floated in front of the desk, her thoughts controlling the stylus to swipe on the tablet.
On the screen, the heroine cried with tears, "Master! Disciple is willing to exchange life for life~!"
"Fool!" The Lady poked at the pause button and turned to look at Glenda, who was organizing the bookshelf, "I’m going out through the dream realm. If Wu Heng asks, let him know for me."
Glenda controlled the puppet to look over, "Don’t forget the way back. If you can’t return, it’ll be hard for us to find you."
"Mm, I’ll tell Philippa and plant a seed in her dream. I’ll be back when she sleeps tonight." The Lady finished speaking and flew through the floor toward downstairs.
She told Philippa, who was training on the first floor, about planting the Dream Seed.
Glenda tidied up the entire bookshelf and then replaced the vase with fresh flowers.
"Not bad!" Glenda looked at the clean study, nodding with satisfaction.
After visiting two dreams in succession.
The Lady appeared in the third dream, her bare feet stepping on the cold stone steps, pausing slightly.
In front of her was a magnificent sanctuary.
Lofty domes, colored glass, holy icon silhouettes filled the surroundings.
The Holy Court?
Is the dreamer someone from the Holy Court?
Or perhaps, they have grasped some method to open a passage, luring her here like a trap.
Thoughts quickly flashed by.
Looking again outside the hall, boundless darkness twisted shadows wriggled within, whispering quietly, as if countless insects gnawing at the world’s edge.
What a bizarre place.
Kneeling on a mat in the center of the sanctuary was a frail woman.
She looked about the same age as Mini, thin in stature, wearing a robe with distinctive Holy Court features, tightly hugging a swaddled baby, her pale lips moving continuously, repeating the Holy Court’s prayers.
The voice was very light, yet it seemed like a thin thread reaching here.
The Lady squinted her eyes, nine fox tails silently extending behind her.
A disciple’s dream!
She was unexpectedly dreamt of by a disciple from the Holy Court; it was somewhat amusing.
Stepping into the hall, her skirt swept across the floor.
With a wave of her hand.
Boom~!
The heavy hall door closed, completely isolating those prying shadows outside.
The demonic whispers abruptly stopped, leaving the hall in silence with only the young mother’s breathing.
The woman raised her head, seeing the nine tails and the Lady’s appearance, revealing a smile, "Princess of the Sky Fox!"
This is a dream realm; if a passage can be opened.
It means she had already dreamt of the Lady in advance.
The Lady did not reply, just slowly walked to her and looked at the swaddled baby.
The baby inside was sleeping soundly, with a plump and rosy face, completely unaffected by the outside world.
"Your child?"
"Yes!" The woman smiled, her fingertips gently brushing the baby’s cheek, her eyes filled with a mother’s pride and tenderness.
This is a dream; a real baby couldn’t accompany in here unless it meant she had dreamt of her child, or hoped to have one.
The Lady lightly tapped her fingertips, a carved vine chair formed out of thin air behind her.
She lazily sat down, her nine fox tails fanning out like a fan.
"Quite adorable," the Lady praised, her gaze not shifting from the baby, "What’s your name?"
"Liz," the young mother answered softly, her fingers unconsciously stroking the edge of the swaddle, "You are truly brave, braver than any woman I’ve ever seen."
Her voice carried an almost childlike admiration.
She must be referring to the scene in the movie where she fights the Black Fox Elder.
"Is that so?" the Lady raised an eyebrow, her fox tails gently swaying, "I’ve seen braver ones, still a child, always shouting about fighting this and that."
Liz smiled, "I also want to be brave like you all."
The two chatted casually, the Lady lowered her guard, and the woman seemed to have found someone she could talk to.
They talked about everything from the child to life in the Holy Hall.
Liz’s words conveyed devout faith, yet also a certain sense of helplessness being trapped here.
The Lady found it hard to understand her piety, after all, on Gold and Silver Island, heroes or divine spirits are merely higher tier professionals.
Not as great as they are touted to be.
But it was just casual chatter, they wouldn’t meet again tomorrow, so naturally, there was no intention to debate these things and destroy the other’s dream.
The two chatted for a while and seemed to enjoy it.
The Lady calculated the time, feeling from the time difference between the two sides that Philippa could rest at any moment.
Looking at the woman in front, she leaned forward, "I’m leaving, what kind of dream do you hope to have next?"
Liz blinked blankly, "Dream? You mean we’re in a dream now?"
"Of course, just tell me what dream you want," the Lady said with a smile.
Liz shook her head, "I don’t know, I’ve never left here, it’s quite nice now."
The Lady smiled, "I’ll take you to see Gold and Silver Island."
Liz instantly thought of something and said, "Gold and Silver Island? I don’t want to go there, it’s the territory of heretics, very dangerous."
"Oh?" the Lady raised an eyebrow, "Then you should go see it, after all, it’s a dream, you won’t die."
Liz bit her lip and suddenly hugged the baby tighter, "Then, let’s treat it as a test of courage!"
The Lady’s red lips curved slightly, she snapped her fingers lightly.
Boom!
The entire Holy Hall collapsed like a sandcastle.
The sound of waves, the whistle of a ship, and the shouts of vendors suddenly filled the ears.
Liz screamed and opened her eyes, finding herself standing in a bustling port, the baby still cradled in her arms, surrounded by a noisy and busy scene.
And the Fox Race Princess was nowhere to be seen.
...
In a dim bedroom.
Moonlight was cut into pale fine lines by heavy curtains, obliquely falling on the bed.
The Lady’s ghost lingered in mid-air, no longer having a physical form in the dream.
At this moment, she widened her eyes, looking at the woman on the bed.
The gentle, shy young mother in the dream was like this in reality.
Her skin was as withered as tree bark, tightly wrapping around her bones, sparse white hair clung to her sunken temples.
Only the barely discernible facial contour could still coincide with the girl in the dream.
Her abdomen was high and bulging, with an exaggerated curve.
The Lady lightly flicked a finger, and the thin blanket over the woman opened, revealing a belly full of bluish-purple veins, an exaggerated blood tumor adherent atop, rising and falling with each breath.
What is this?
The Lady instinctively retreated a bit.
Just then, Philippa’s dream channel opened, and the Lady covered the woman with the quilt again.
The Lady glanced at the woman, still in a sweet dream.
She placed a dream seed on her forehead, and then her figure vanished.
...
Returning to Gold and Silver Island.
The Lady looked at Philippa sleeping soundly in a starfish position, tucked her in, and then flew back to the study.
"Aunt, you went to see other people’s dreams again? Take me with you next time," Xiao Xiao greeted first.
The Lady forced a smile, "I still don’t know how to take someone else along."
"Huh? Then I’ll ask Uncle to give me the ability to enter dreams as well," Xiao Xiao continued.
The Lady flew back to her spot, hovering in mid-air, with a slight frown.
Glenda glanced over and asked, "Did something go wrong in the dream?"
The Lady turned her head and said, "Is Wu Heng asleep? I have something to tell him."
"It’s this late, he’s surely asleep, if it’s urgent just go over directly."
The Lady thought for a moment, "Tomorrow then!"
