Chapter 1320: Chapter 964
Lilith chatted with Xiao Xiao for a while, then looked back at Wu Heng, asking curiously, "Your wings...?"
During the battle, Wu Heng unfurled wings identical to those of the Blood Clan.
Even though Lilith wasn’t concerned, she was still curious about this.
Many humans have transformed into Pale-bloods, primarily for the extended lifespan.
But Wu Heng had already become a Hero, so there was no need to transform at this point.
If he wanted to continue living, there were many ways to do so, especially for a Necromancer.
Wu Heng lifted his glass and took a sip, saying calmly, "The potion stimulates potential, allowing me to acquire some traits similar to the Blood Clan."
Lilith raised an eyebrow, her eyes filled with even more confusion.
Is that possible?
Xiao Xiao flew back, chiming in, "Uncle says he can even turn into a Fishman later and swim in the sea."
Lilith still smiled, "So, you have the Blood Clan’s flying ability, but you’re not actually one of them?"
"That’s one way to put it." Wu Heng continued, "Rest assured, I haven’t done anything harmful to the Blood Clan."
"That’s not what I meant. Of course, I trust you." Lilith shot him a slightly teasing look.
Feeling her expression was inappropriate, she immediately switched to a cold demeanor.
Wu Heng then asked, "When will you be ready to come back with me?"
Lilith lifted her chin, "You came all this way just to take me back?"
"This place feels somewhat uncomfortable," Wu Heng said politely.
Below was Wudu, but the environment and construction were not as good as Gold and Silver Island.
The city was humid, streets were narrow, and there was chaos with carriages and people.
It was evident that there was a difference from an ordinary city, but it was still far behind Gold and Silver Island.
Xiao Xiao joined in, "Yeah! It’s not as good as Gold and Silver Island, much worse..."
"What do you two mean! It’s been established for a hundred years." Lilith was speechless.
Criticizing the city right in front of others, showing no discretion at all.
Wu Heng laughed, "Later, why not have the designers from Gold and Silver Island help plan it out, install electric lights, and redesign the routes? It would be much better."
"Sure, once back, have them come over," Lilith nodded.
The two had mentioned before about supplying electricity to the Blood Clan’s territory.
This time they made a concrete decision.
"So, when are we going back?" Wu Heng looked at her.
Xiao Xiao repeated, "When?"
Lilith averted her gaze, saying irritably, "After things here wrap up, I can’t just leave immediately. Besides, the main aid team has arrived; I have to stay until they complete the procedures."
"That works too!" Wu Heng nodded.
His plan was to bring Lilith back; with two Heroes on his side, they could manage any major trouble.
Moreover, after returning, he’d have to handle things in Lundham City while Lilith was on the island.
Gold and Silver Island would be safer.
They chatted while eating, and after dinner.
Lilith accepted the coat handed over by the butler, saying, "Xiao Xiao, I’ll take you on a night patrol."
"Great! What’s a night patrol?" Xiao Xiao cheered, then immediately asked.
"It’s patrolling to see if anyone’s up to anything sneaky at night," Lilith replied, then looked at the butler, "Take Leader Wu Heng to see the bedroom, and arrange anything he needs."
"Yes, miss," the butler nodded, "Leader Wu Heng, this way, please."
As Xiao Xiao and Lilith left, Wu Heng followed the butler to the prepared bedroom.
...
The room was spacious and deep, with dark wood partitions separating the study and bedroom, adorned with carvings of thorns, roses, and other Blood Clan favored patterns.
The entire room exuded a classical gloomy style, as though the air was filled with a musty smell.
Illuminating Stones were embedded in the wall’s bronze sconces, casting a dim yellow light faintly illuminating the room.
The effect was far inferior to the electric lights on Gold and Silver Island.
Glenda floated closer, her translucent form casting a faint blue glow under the Illuminating Stone, saying, "The way Lilith looks at you is full of tenderness; use this chance... be bolder."
Wu Heng took off his coat, casually hanging it on a nearby rack, "Tenderness? Why do I feel like she’s glaring at me all the time?"
"You were too busy eating to notice," Glenda said, a bit annoyed.
Bella’s figure appeared on the opposite side, twirling lightly, chiming in with a laugh, "Coming all this way to save her, what woman wouldn’t be moved? You’re pretty good at wooing women; just go for it this time!"
"When was I ever good at it?" Wu Heng scratched his face, "What if she disagrees and beats me up?"
"Would she really kill you?" Glenda floated over, urging him, "With your current strength, taking a couple of hits to win a Hero as a partner... it’s a great deal!"
Wu Heng looked at the two Ghosts on either side, "Alright, I’ll give it a try if I get a chance."
The two Ghosts didn’t say more, and Glenda said, "Give me the Book of Necromancy; I want to check if there’s any record of high-level Blood Clan Skeletons."
"And my tablet," Bella twirled in the air.
Wu Heng handed the book and tablet to them.
Once the two Ghosts were settled, Wu Heng went into the inner room and connected with Mini.
"Master!"
The screen lit up, revealing several maids at home, along with Philippa, all chiming in with various greetings.
"Did you reach the Blood Clan’s territory? Are you hurt?" Mini’s voice was filled with concern.
"Yes, I’m there, and everything has been resolved," Wu Heng relaxed into his chair.
"So fast!" Robey exclaimed in surprise.
Mini asked, "Is it dangerous over there?"
