Wu Heng followed beside her and said, "According to the Wenshi, this female priestess died three days before the banquet. Moreover, she hadn’t returned to the Holy Court dormitory. He didn’t mention this critical detail but only vaguely noted that he had investigated some stowaways."

Lilith slowed her pace, "What else?"

Wu Heng continued, "There’s another point—when the investigation reached the tavern, the other party deliberately left behind a pair of boots and a belt, attempting to mislead me into tracking them northwards. Wu Heng followed the elf sisters to the study. As the door closed, he held them both, kissing each on the cheek.

After a brief moment of affection, Shi Yali moved aside to brew tea for him while Xi Ligui asked, "Weren’t you supposed to establish a church? How come you’ve been framed?"

She could infer some details from the earlier Wenshi session.

Curiosity lingered about who would plot against a hero.

Shi Yali brought over the brewed tea and sat opposite him.

Wu Heng recounted what happened in Netalee City but didn’t mention the ghost.

After listening, the sisters exchanged a surprised look.

The schemer was cunning enough to almost make Wu Heng look like the perpetrator.

After the banquet, the rumor of him attempting to rape the female priestess would incite the Holy Court, sending a negative signal to the outside world.

His profession already faced controversy, and such an incident would only worsen his efforts to spread his beliefs.

"Lilith Leader was right; no matter where you go, you cause trouble," Shi Yali said.

The three chatted for a while.

"Maybe in the next few days. I’ll come and keep you company."

"Alright," Shi Yali nodded.

After bidding the sisters farewell, Wu Heng left the study and entered the Steward’s Mansion through the back door.

"Send her a message to come back early for dinner."

"Got it!"
