Chapter 303: They want a name
Elliana stood in the middle of the field.
If she had thought it would be some normal battle, she was so wrong.
Her hands turned sweaty as she looked around at the bleachers that were filled with the students of the fifth grade and above.
Her heart drummed in her chest as she looked at Nathaniel. She didn’t want to do it. It was clearly written on her face.
"I don’t think this is a good idea," The dean said when he saw the uneasiness on her face.
"It’s definitely a good idea, sir. She will learn how to face good battles in the future like this. Everyone here is a learner. No one is going to judge her even if she falls in the first blow," one of the teachers said.
Nathaniel didn’t say anything. It was clearly bullying. They wanted to humiliate her because of how she challenged a teacher for the duo.
He could’ve intervened, but he didn’t want to. This was something she would’ve had to go alone. He won’t be here to help her every time. She needs to show everyone their rightful place.
"Nathaniel," Elliana looked at him with hope, and Nathaniel sighed.
"You want to stop hurting people around you and learn new things, right?" Nathaniel cupped her cheeks, his heart melting when she nodded softly.
"Then this is the school for you. But things won’t be easy, princess. You will have to pave the way yourself. You have to show them your worth or people will keep questioning your strength time after time. That’s why it’s important to be done in front of everyone," Nathaniel reasoned, and Elliana gulped.
She could understand what he was talking about. Every time a witch meets her the first thing they ask her has been, ’Is she really powerful enough.’ She wanted to change that. Now it was related to Nathaniel’s reputation too.
"But what if I fail?" Elliana asked, and Nathaniel smiled.
"Don’t worry. Your powers will handle everything," Nathaniel placed his hand on her head.
"You will handle it, right?" Nathaniel asked, and Elliana’s powers immediately opened their eyes.
Nathaniel smiled at them to let them know he meant no harm.
’This fool prince. Don’t you think you are being too daring by talking to us like this just because we don’t retaliate?’ The powers tilted their heads, and Nathaniel smiled.
’You don’t retaliate and do anything to me because you know I am on your team and you need me to coax Elliana to not be afraid of you. If you behave and help her today, I will ask her to name you something to increase your bond,’ Nathaniel smirked.
’Are you bargaining with us?’ The powers asked.
’Did I stutter?’ Nathaniel used his magna to communicate further, and the powers huffed.
’What kind of damage is allowed? We can’t have her screaming and crying again because she is afraid of what she is capable of. The incident with the dean really shook her,’ the powers asked, and Nathaniel looked at them thoughtfully.
’Then again, they want to see our strength. Should we kill all those people on the bleachers and this teacher because they dared to mock her? Will that be enough to show them our strength?’ They asked again, and Nathaniel gave them a tight-lipped smile.
Nathaniel - "..." Talking like this and they want to learn how to communicate with their innocent human?
Sure, it won’t be a surprise if Elliana ends up changing them or abandoning them completely.
He could see that it was something they were really afraid of. Abandonment.
’That won’t be necessary. Just let her stay in the field longer than a minute. Dodge all the attacks and use some minor attacks that might look like a witch of fifth or sixth grade would use,’ Nathaniel suggested, and they hummed.
’If we do it nicely, tell her to communicate with us too. We feel alone here. And teach her how to put her mind barrier up. Seeing her getting aroused when she is with her husband isn’t exactly the best site we look forward to,’ The powers said, and Nathaniel patted Elliana’s head before he walked away.
This wasn’t good. It was just a thirty-second conversation, but it was enough to make Nathaniel realize a few things.
And none of them were good.
King Eros’s powers along with Queen Azura’s powers were taking the form of a completely different soul in Elliana’s body. Now they were starting to act wishful like those werewolves have those untamed beasts inside them.
The powers were protective of Elliana, and why not? They belonged to her parents. It was obvious they would show some parental instincts.
But they were so protective that they wouldn’t think twice before destroying the world for her. And now that they said they feel lonely, they will try everything to communicate with Elliana.
Damn it! Why do things keep getting complicated? He hasn’t even finalized this school for her, and her powers are already refining themselves to the tenth-grade level.
And they want a name? What f*cking name do they want? Little lily? Because they were definitely Satan’s wands! Nathaniel smiled bitterly at the dean who knew he was talking to the girl’s powers.
Not everyone was allowed to do that. But since he recently turned tenth-grade witch and was a prince, it wasn’t hard for him.
"What did they say?" The dean asked with a smirk on his face.
"They want a name now. They said they want to kill everyone present here for mocking their human," Nathaniel smiled at the dean as he saw his smile faltering.
"Now stop talking to me, and let’s watch the battle. I have to stay alert to be able to calm down Elliana if things go out of hand," Nathaniel said, and the dean smiled.
"I like how you are worried about calming her even though there are so many ninth-grade witches present here," the dean said, and Nathaniel chuckled.
Well, what could he say?
"Are any of those ninth-grade witches ready to sacrifice someone or kill people for a purpose?" Nathaniel asked a simple question, and it was enough to shut the dean immediately.
What they didn’t notice was one of the teachers, Madonna, listening intently.
Judging from what the prince was saying, this Elliana girl was some big shot, but why doesn’t it seem like it? There were many loopholes in what Prince Nathaniel said earlier. It looks like she will have to look at the girl fighting deeply.
"Student Elliana, are you ready?" The dean asked, and the girl gazed at Nathaniel over last time before nodding.
"Okay. Start!" The dean announced.
"Student, why don’t you start first? I don’t want you to fall on my first attack," the teacher said smugly, and all the students snickered.
"What is your speciality?" Elliana asked softly.
"Water, why?" The teacher asked.
"Then I am sure you wouldn’t fancy electric shocks, right?" Elliana smirked, her eyes shining evilly, making the teacher’s smile falter, and Nathaniel cleared his throat.
It was finally starting.
