Chapter 534: Chapter 534: Qin Yuze’s College Entrance Examination Results_1
When Qin Yuze came downstairs, everyone’s gaze fell on him, their eyes brimming with anticipation.
Even Susu put down her little sketchbook, her round eyes fixated on Qin Yuze.
Wang Qing stood up from her seat.
"How did it go?" Wang Qing asked with a nervous expression.
Qin Yuze didn’t speak; he merely handed over his tablet, which he used to check his scores, for Wang Qing to see for herself.
Wang Qing stared at the tablet for a long time without moving.
Seeing Wang Qing like this made Qin Xingzhi very worried.
His youngest son’s lack of achievement was not a new issue; he had caused them enough worry already.
But recently, he had been behaving extremely well and had also taken the college entrance exam seriously.
His wife’s reaction was so strong; could it be that their son did so poorly that the score was too dreadful to look at?
"Honey, don’t be sad. Didn’t we say that it’s enough if Xiaoze behaves? We won’t ask for anything else," he reassured his wife as he leaned over to glance at the tablet.
And then he was stunned.
These scores... were they really his youngest son’s?
He wouldn’t be surprised if these scores belonged to Qin Huai or Yuhuan.
But finding them under Yuze’s name was utterly inconceivable!
"Yuze, how... how did you manage to get these scores?" Qin Xingzhi raised his head, his face full of shock.
Qin Yuze touched his nose: "I have been studying hard recently."
"No, you’ve been slacking off for so long, and only buckled down the past two months. You scored over six hundred sixty? I heard this year’s test was quite difficult – the first-tier cutoff was only five hundred fifty!"
"Dad, I’m your son. Can’t you have a little faith in my intelligence? You should know from my brothers’ scores that I certainly can’t be lacking in smarts!" Qin Yuze said.
"Son, I have faith in your intelligence, but I’m not confident enough to think you’re a genius!" Qin Xingzhi said.
A transformation from slacker to top student in just two short months? Isn’t that the mark of a genius?
"Dad, although I messed around in the past, it’s not like I didn’t learn anything. I did listen in class when there was nothing else to do, so I got some basics," Qin Yuze explained.
"So, you were deliberately trying to aggravate us before? You knew the answers but didn’t write them down properly, right?" Qin Xingzhi asked.
"Um... well... sort of... like that..." Qin Yuze said with a sheepish smile.
"You little rascal! So you deliberately didn’t perform well!"
Once Qin Xingzhi realized this, he couldn’t help wanting to give Qin Yuze a good thrashing.
"Dad! Dad! Calm down! Take it easy! You hit me when I did badly, and now you want to hit me when I do well?" Qin Yuze protested as he ran away.
"That’ll teach you to hide your capabilities and anger me! Every time your test results came out, I had to prepare myself mentally for half a day! I almost got high blood pressure several times because of you!"
Seeing that Qin Xingzhi had no intention of stopping, Qin Yuze ran behind Susu, seeking her protection.
"Aunt Susu, protect me!" Qin Yuze, a grown man, hid behind Susu’s small frame.
"You little scoundrel, come out from behind my sister!" Qin Xingzhi said, fuming with anger.
"I won’t!" Qin Yuze refused; he certainly didn’t want to get hit by his dad.
Qin Yuze looked down and said to Susu, "Aunt Susu, my older brother still wants to hit me even though I did well on the test. Don’t you think he is being very unreasonable?"
