Chapter 523: 523

Qin Yuhuai tacitly allowed Sangzi to grab his arm, and thus escorted her forward, searching for an exit.

Along the way, they encountered all sorts of frightening setups and terrifying sounds, which scared Sangzi so much that she stayed behind Qin Yuhuai the entire time, not daring to look straight ahead.

Qin Yuhuai was calm, finding the haunted house not very scary, considering most of the fear factor came from the decorations and music, with little else that was frightening.

Besides, the decorations weren’t too terrifying, devoid of any gory, blood-drenched scenes.

The NPC’s made up as ghosts and monsters would at most touch a visitor’s shoulder and wouldn’t do anything excessive.

But Sangzi was truly frightened, her reaction not much different from Qin Luoyun’s.

After walking for a while, a "trap" appeared ahead on the path...

At first glance, there seemed to be a big hole in the ground, with a group of demons and ghosts inside, looking up and stretching their hands out to catch the passersby.

It wasn’t until Qin Yuhuai and Sangzi got closer that they saw it clearly; Sangzi was so terrified that she jumped onto Qin Yuhuai’s body, clinging to him like a koala.

"Help, help, ghosts!" Sangzi clung tightly to Qin Yuhuai.

Qin Yuhuai’s body stiffened.

Not out of fear, but rather from Sangzi’s embrace that had thrown him into confusion.

The soft body was pressed snugly against his own, fitting together seamlessly.

After a while, Qin Yuhuai finally spoke up to explain, "That’s fake, it’s just a graphic."

"Fake... fake?" Sangzi looked down in surprise.

She saw Qin Yuhuai standing right on top of that "trap."

Indeed, it was fake, nothing more than a drawing!

Sangzi let out a huge sigh of relief, then suddenly snapped out of it, belatedly realizing what she had done...

"I’m... sorry!"

Sangzi hastily disembarked from Qin Yuhuai’s body.

Oh heavens! What was she thinking, jumping on him like that! So embarrassing!

"It’s fine, I wouldn’t mind if you hugged me a bit longer," Qin Yuhuai sincerely replied.

"Boom—" Sangzi’s face instantly flushed deep red.

The blood that had fled her cheeks from the scare moments ago surged right back, and then some!

"Let’s go," Qin Yuhuai said, seeing that Sangzi was so embarrassed she wanted to bury herself.

He was afraid she might bolt again, like before.

Although today, she probably had no place to escape to.

After walking for some time, they came before a wall.

"Is there no way through?" Sangzi asked cautiously.

Qin Yuhuai didn’t know either, but he felt that the style of this wall in front of him was a bit off, unlike a real wall.

He stretched out his hand, tentatively pushing on the wall.

Unexpectedly, with that push, the wall performed a complete 180-degree spin.

Qin Yuhuai and Sangzi, caught off guard, followed through with the rotation of the wall to the other side.

Sangzi’s body collided once again with Qin Yuhuai’s.

This time it was an accident, and Sangzi, realizing what happened, tried to pull away, only to be held in place by Qin Yuhuai.

Sangzi raised her head in bewilderment to look at Qin Yuhuai, "What’s... what’s the matter?"

Her voice betrayed her nervousness at that moment.

She couldn’t figure out if her nervousness was more influenced by the haunting atmosphere of the ghost house or by the close contact between the two of them right then and there.

Qin Yuhuai didn’t speak, his eyes locking onto Sangzi’s.

Sangzi looked around and realized that what they just encountered was a false wall, and what her back was now against was the real wall.

There was a fifty-centimeter gap between the fake and real wall, and now she and Qin Yuhuai were both in this confined space.

Just the two of them...
