Chapter 155: Chapter 155 Mr. Lu personally comes to invite_1

Bai Fengmian walked in and greeted Yang Lao with great respect, "Master Shuyi."

"Why are you here again?" Yang Lao was very impatient.

"Master Shuyi, please don’t be angry," Bai Fengmian explained. "I wouldn’t have come to bother you if I could think of any better solution."

"Whether you can think of a better solution is none of my business. That’s your own incompetence, don’t put the blame on me!" Yang Lao huffed.

Bai Fengmian furrowed his brow, "Master Shuyi, our young master is only seven years old this year. If you don’t help him, he might have to spend his entire life in a wheelchair."

Yang Lao laughed, "How many sick children are there besides your young master? Go to the children’s ward at the hospital and see how many children suffer from illness every day? They all want to live, but is there a way? Compared to them, your young master is already very fortunate!"

Bai Fengmian was rendered speechless.

"Alright, go back to wherever you came from! I have to go out and gather herbs!" Yang Lao said impatiently, shooing him away.

Having said that, he picked up his hoe and was about to head out the door.

"Mr. Shuyi, what if it’s me asking for your help?"

A loud, clear voice came through, and Yang Lao’s gaze immediately shifted to the doorway.

The comer, dressed in a black Zhongshan suit and supported by people beside him, walked slowly towards them.

He appeared aged and infirm but exuded an aura of solemn authority.

Upon seeing the person’s face clearly, Yang Lao’s expression turned grave, and he looked at the newcomer with a change in his demeanor.

"Mr. Lu," Yang Lao greeted with respect.

"Mr. Shuyi, I remember meeting you more than a decade ago when you were in high spirits..."

"Mr. Lu, there’s no need to bring up things from many years ago. Why would such an important person like you come to a small place like Huacheng?" Yang Lao asked.

"For my only grandson. The one Fengmian is imploring you to treat is none other than my poor grandchild."

The old man’s face was filled with sorrow, and his eyes, which had seen much of life’s hardships, were shrouded in gloom.

"Mr. Lu, even though you’ve come personally, I still have my principles. After the incident seven years ago, I’ve already announced my retirement, and except for special cases, I refuse to treat anyone," Yang Lao stated his position.

"I’ve heard about that incident and I know about your announced retirement. If there were any other way, I wouldn’t have bothered you with my old face," said the elderly gentleman.

Yang Lao frowned, looking at the high-ranking elder before him, feeling a stir of emotion.

He understood that someone of Mr. Lu’s respect and status would never humbly seek help unless it was for his deeply cherished grandson.

"Mr. Lu, I can understand how you feel, but I have made a vow. Except for special cases, I absolutely refuse to treat or save anyone. As for your grandson’s condition, all I can say is I’m sorry. You will have to seek help elsewhere."

What Bai Fengmian did not expect was that Yang Shuyi would be so stubborn, not even the personal visit from Mr. Lu could change his decision.

"Master Shuyi, are you truly so adamant and unyielding?" Mr. Lu asked one last time.

"Yes, so don’t waste any more time on me," Yang Lao replied firmly.

"Okay, I understand," Mr. Lu said slowly as he turned around.

Yang Lao thought he had come to terms with the situation and was about to leave.

But unexpectedly, as soon as Mr. Lu took a step out the door, several strong and muscular professional bodyguards rushed in and lifted Yang Lao off his feet.
