Chapter 1145: Extra Chapter Ten
The Qin Family’s inner courtyard bustled with activity, while outside in the garden, Tantai Ming lounged on the swing, his posture and expression the picture of relaxation.
He still remembered being tormented by Shao Jinyang half a year ago, right here in this spot, yet now he had become a regular guest at the Qin Family’s home.
After that incident six months prior, he had reached an agreement with Shao Jinyang and joined his team as a form of free labor, assisting Shao Jinyang with work as a punishment for his past actions.
In his spare time, he would come here, mainly to keep an eye on Lu Zhanyu.
He didn’t know what his elder brother’s plans were, but he would continue to protect him. As long as he lived, he would serve as his bodyguard.
Tantai Ming stood before Shao Jinyang and He Beimu.
The former leaned against a tree trunk, while the latter stood in front of a window on the first floor of the Qin Family’s house, ensuring he could always see Susu inside the dining room.
Tantai Ming teased Shao Jinyang, "What are you doing, just standing out here? Your precious adopted sister has already become someone else’s girlfriend."
"Why does something perfectly normal sound so weird when you say it?" Shao Jinyang the more he looked at Tantai Ming, the more juvenile he seemed.
He couldn’t believe he had spent so long contending with such a childish person.
"What’s so strange? Am I not stating the facts?"
"If you weren’t a guy, I would suspect you were jealous of me and Xiaozi."
"Jealous? You wish," Tantai Ming scoffed with a snicker.
"Then just shut up," Shao Jinyang said, lacking the patience to argue with Tantai Ming.
Tantai Ming turned his head away, turning his taunts toward He Beimu, "Don’t be angry, little wolf cub, haven’t I been beaten by you several times already? Besides, if it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have remembered your wolf cub past, nor would you know how to speak to your friend from a past life, the Little White Tiger."
He Beimu’s gaze was icy and piercing. If his attitude towards ordinary people was simply aloof and indifferent, his demeanor toward Tantai Ming was one of glaring, undisguised hostility.
He had no desire to pay any heed to Tantai Ming, focusing instead on the tiger cub in his arms, his brows slightly furrowed.
He had indeed recalled the scenes of playing with this fellow.
He had also learned that the fellow was none other than a White Tiger.
Not that the one dozing carelessly in his arms right now bore any resemblance to a majestic White Tiger.
"If you don’t want to be kicked out, then keep your mouth shut," He Beimu said coldly.
"What if I tell you the whereabouts of the enemy who killed your family back then?" Tantai Ming’s lips curled with a teasing smile, certain that after hearing this, He Beimu would be very interested.
Sure enough, He Beimu’s expression changed abruptly, "You know?"
"Yeah, I know. Just because you mortals can’t find it doesn’t mean I can’t," Tantai Ming said with a confident, sly smile.
"Tantai Ming, don’t cause trouble," Shao Jinyang warned.
Tantai Ming, with the demeanor of someone who loved to watch the world burn but claimed no involvement, made Shao Jinyang suspect him of harboring malicious intent.
"I’m not trying to make trouble. If he wants to know, I’ll tell him. If he doesn’t, I’ll just keep this secret to myself," Tantai Ming said, grinning wickedly, his bright eyes twinkling.
He truly didn’t intend to stir up trouble—at most, he just wanted to enjoy the show.
"Tell me, who is it?" He Beimu stepped forward and grabbed Tantai Ming’s clothes.
"Actually, you’ve met this person before," Tantai Ming said cheerily.
"Impossible! Don’t try to fool me!!" He Beimu didn’t believe it.
"Really, you have met, maybe more than once," Tantai Ming said with conviction.
