The hivemind is conquering for me?
Chapter 468 - 468: She Has To Know

"Moo."

As soon as I closed my eyes, I was greeted by Sapphire waiting for me where my avatar usually originates. She then licked me all over and expressed her intent to me.

All the fighting between me and Valerica had woken her up due to my feelings seeping into her. She wanted play-play, but I was mentally exhausted as having to predict and read the moves of a new, strong and fast opponent was mentally taxing.

"No play-play tonight Sapphire, I am exhausted, how about we sleep-pile instead?" I offered as an alternative.

Sleep? Why that was Sapphire's most favourite activity! She wouldn't turn down the opportunity to sleep with Apollo! He is usually occupied with the pests after all.

Sapphire wasted no time and placed her gigantic body atop mine, leaving my head exposed and already began to snore. I smiled as I got comfy before saying. "Ah, such a good girl. We will have some play time when I am recovered. Perhaps we could fight Onyx together in her stalker form? Would you like that?"

Onyx, who had just walked over, suddenly paused as Sapphire opened her eyes and licked her maw. Before Onyx could process anything, I simply stated. "No arguments, sleep-pile. Sol, get over here as well.

I proceeded not to process my surroundings after saying that as I immediately fell asleep.

"Gabby, will you sit down? You are putting me on edge." Hailey said in her new office, saving a stack of paper from falling onto the ground due to her guardians clomping. "And you think I am not! Ahh my instincts are screaming at me! Something isn't right. Something has happened to my baby..."

Gabrielle bit her nails as her pacing continued. Something, or perhaps someone, was interfering with her instincts, causing a great deal of unrest and she didn't like it. She knew it had to be about her baby. She just knew, just like she knew he was alive! Augh! it was killing her that she didn't know the finer details! She hated not knowing things.

She had to know!

She started babbling incoherently for a while before deciding. "I'll just go. Just have a peak at the club, at him. I won't say anything, I won't hug...him... My baby boy... all grown up... Just one hug perhaps? Let him know he is safe? Let him know his mommy is here and she is so sorry?"

"Do I have to go bother Nerissa to talk some sense into you again?" Hailey warned, causing her guardian to growl at her. "I preferred it when you had respect for me brat. You won't be getting my blessing to marry my baby with that attitude, young lady!"

Hailey was about to reply, using her princess status as declaring she doesn't need anyone's permission, but decided against it due to her own morals and decided to change the subject. "Why don't you help me with my lecture plans? It will help clear your mind."

"Goodness, is that what you have been working on? Why is there so much paperwork? This looks like enough for every course the college offers." Gabrielle said and began to read over individual documents, realising something.

"Why in Spartari are you writing lecture plans for every course and class? Are you deranged?" Gabrielle asked, baffled. Hailey did her best not to call the pot black as she replied.

"Well, I don't know what classes he is taking yet, do I? For my plan to work I need to be able to have close proximity on the daily. I can't just randomly bump into him everyday, I will be a teacher after all. It would look suspicious, even for his laid back attitude. Once he hands in the forms for the classes he will be attending, I can pick one I am adept in and continue the lecture planning from there, piece of cake. But for now, I need at least the first two months of each one just in case."

Gabrielle looked at Hailey with a disgusted look. The sheer amount of effort she is going through to try and manipulate her son's heart... She should at least have her in the plans as well so she can be close to her baby!

"Actually, I have a better idea!" Gabrielle suddenly exclaimed, causing Hailey to look up at her with a smile. "Oh yeah? What?" Hailey wasn't sure if it was anatomically possible, but she swore Gabrielle's eyes began to shimmer with excitement.

"I am going to be your teacher's assistant! I am beyond qualified for the position and then I can watch My son as he learns! Oh! What a sight that will be!" Tears began to pour down Gabrielle's cheeks as the mental image appeared in front of her.

"Teacher Mommy! Can you help me with this question?" "Teacher Mommy, can you get rid of all these horrible women hounding me? I only want to be around you!" "Teacher Mommy, I need private tutoring, perhaps we should go back to my dormitory right now? Better yet, how about we go to yours?"

...

"He, Hehe, hehehe!" Gabrielle began laughing in her daydream until

*BANG*

"Hey!!" Hailey slammed down on her table, causing Gabrielle to come to. "Stop drooling on my carpet!" Gabrielle gasped and wiped the drool from her mouth. "You are right! I should stop fantasising and go put the dream into reality! I will be back later, I am going to bother the deputy headteacher until she agrees to my demand!"

"No you-" Hailey began, but the cruelest of fates occured. Gabrielle bumped into the table on her way out of the room, causing a half meter tall stack of neat, organised paperwork to tumble over, spreading out over her carpet in every which direction...

"..."

Hailey took in a sharp inhale, collecting her emotions, the room's temperature dropped as she did so like she sucked everything out of the room that brought her anger before blowing back outwards, attempting to fend off the anger within.

'Nine more days. Nine days until enrolment and hopefully Gabrielle calms down when she is finally presented Apollo.' She thought to herself before looking at the mess on the floor once more. She would need a few more of those deep breaths before she began or she would end up punching a hole in the wall.

...

"Ok, my Replacement should be here tomorrow. I vetted her myself and I vouch for her abilities. I told her that you like formality mixed with informality, but give her some time. You have quite the intimidating presence after all. Would you like to make any requests before I leave?"

"Yeah, don't go." King Sigismund said as he crossed his arms in a huff. He felt all emotions intently, not just anger, so he was quite upset that his second was leaving him for a while. Jocasta moved forward towards her King and used one of her Mechanical tendrils to rub him on the back.

"There, there your Grace. It's not like I am going to be gone for too long. By my circuits, the individual might not live up to my standards and I could be back in two weeks. The King's eyes visibly bulged at that prospect before his depressed state took over as Jocasta said.

"Though, he was recommended by our little Archon, so I assume his eye for Psionics should be pretty sharp." Hearing About Apollo, Sigismund looked up at Jocasta and began musing. "Hmm, You should try to gain some information from him about his collaboration with the Coalition on Bastion. While I trust he was there solely to kill filthy insects, I think it's best you work him over to check if he is actually the right stuff to groom."

Jocasta would have smiled if she was capable. "Naturally, my king, I still need to see if he wishes to collaborate with me. I have the suspicion he is a fun one." Sigismund became visibly revulsed hearing that and scolded.

"Ugh, you women are all the same. Such dirty minds. Don't discuss such vulgarities around me." He stated, causing Jocasta to commit a binaric sqwark that the king did not like the tone of.

"Please, just because your royal jewels don't function, doesn't mean I don't sometimes get lonely. Sure I am over 80% metal, but I am still a woman, some urges still remain. For example."

"Go! Go! Ugh, It's like listening to my sister saying she wants to get busy. Why are you still here? Have you not left yet? By my empire I hope your replacement has a cleaner mouth and purer mind."

Jocasta bowed, her eyes squinting in happiness that she managed to cheer up her king, even if he didn't realise it. Sure, training the future generations was important, but her King was somewhat lonely. He had a reputation for being prone to anger after all, not many wanted to risk his ire.

She hoped he would do well in her absence, her friend and liege deserved it.
