The Hero of Hypnosis -
Chapter 60: Self-Driving Carriage
Chapter 60: Self-Driving Carriage
"What do you mean you don’t want to announce that you’re the hero yet? You’ll get fame and fortune! You’ll live a life of luxury! You’ll be treated with the utmost respect! Why don’t you want to be recognized?!"
After pulling the Hero’s sword yesterday, Kai and Gwen packed up their things and decided that it was time to leave the town. It wasn’t because of his newly found fame and the fact that everyone was trying to get on his good side and make it easy in life. Kai just thought it was time to go.
When he told this to Tyria and Annabeth, they didn’t mind and packed up as well. However, when Tyria asked if Kai was going to Qasyran City to meet with the Church of Gracia so he could get ordained, he said that he wasn’t.
After that, she started losing her mind.
"It’s not like I don’t plan on going there at all. I just don’t care to right now. I want to build up my own merit and credit, not take someone else’s." Kai explained
"B-But, you’re the hero." She argued.
"So? And Gracia is a goddess, yet I don’t see her ass fighting the demon king. Talk about doing a lousy job."
Everyone gasped.
"What?"
"You just insulted Goddess Gracia!" Gwen explained
"As a hero no less," Annabeth added.
Kai just brushed them off.
’My dad is the literal god of the omniverse. I’m not afraid of some worldly god who can only use their power on a single world. They would probably flip if they found out I’m a demigod. Kind of. Not really because that bastard didn’t give me any ’divine’ power! I’m just a normal ass human. FUCK YOU LEO! DEADBEAT BASTARD!’
"Anyway, I still don’t care to go there just yet. But don’t worry, I’ll still go there during my journey to the Hero Academy since it’s the city right before it."
Tyria grumbled, folding her arms and pouting. "You better. Anyone would kill to be in your position!"
"I’m sure they would. Now, let’s go. I don’t want to say here any longer because these people are getting annoying." Kai looked out his window and saw hundreds of people crowded around the inn waiting for him to make an appearance.
He rolled his eyes. "Fucking weirdos. Go somewhere else. Why are you obsessed with a stranger’s life? Like that’s so weird."
’Wait. Let me not say that because I’ve hypnotized a lot of girls. Well, they arent strangers anymore, so it’s okay, right?’
His consciousness looked back at him and a ’really?’ expression.
’It’s okay, right?’ He thought again, hoping his inner self would agree.
’Yeah, it’s okay.’
’Yay! Thanks, me!’
"Kai!"
"Huh?" He looked around to see the three of them glancing at him with confused expressions.
"Are you okay?" Gwen asked
"Dandy. Let’s go." He teleported them all to the ruins of the knightmares.
---
"Soooo, why did we come out this way?" Tyria asked
"Because this is a halfway point to Brightfield, our next stop," Kai responded in a neutral tone.
"Sweet, I have a contact waiting there for us to go back to the Capital. Hope she’s not mad at me for making her wait a week without any contact." Annabeth glared at Tyria.
"I’m sorry."
"Haha, it’s okay. She’ll understand once we explain ourselves. So, Kai, what’s happening in Brightfield that makes you want to go there?"
"No reason. Just stopping at every village, town, and city on the way to Vaudrille City. Gwen and I are on a quest to become S-Rank adventurers before making our way to the Hero Academy while also finding party members along the way."
Tyria got excited. "We can join your party! We’ll be the hero party!"
"No thanks."
"Awl."
’Shit, walking is too boring. I’m buying an ability that can make my carriage self-driving right now.’
Kai opened his status window and started looking through his shop. He was a huge fan of the search feature and just typed in what he wanted.
’Vehicle Self-driving abilities. Oh, also, structure customizable abilities. Gotta make the carriage look nice as fuck.’
[Shop
Auto-operate - Allows for any type of vehicle, no matter how advanced or unadvanced, to operate on its own at full capacity. - 1,000 SP.
Inanimate customizability - Allows for you to customize any inanimate object you want, as long as it was already crafted and if you have the materials. - 3,000 SP]
"Three fucking thousand SP! What a rip off!"
"Uhh, Kai? What’s SP?"
Gwen put her hand up, telling the two girls not to worry about it.
"Fucking greedy vulture. Fine! Take you 4,000 SP bitch!"
[Ding! Items purchased. Next time, don’t be so broke, stupid.
-Leo]
’I’m gonna kill him. I’m gonna fucking kill that man if I ever see him again.’
Kai used the [Auto-Operate] ability on the carriage right away after he took it out of his inventory. Nothing changed, but when he touched it, it connected to his status window map, asking him where he wanted to go.
’Sweet.’
After that, he decided to customize his carriage. Since his carriage was made out of wood, he couldn’t add metal to it. So, he went into his shop once more, traded some of his copper and silver for steel without spending any SP, then used that to customize his carriage.
The frame was completely rebuilt with wood and metal, and he customized it to the shape he wanted. The total room of the carragae stayed the same, but he rearranged how much space there was inside the cabin.
Now, only eight people could fit inside the cabin, and he made it so that the front of the carriage could sit two people as well as the back. But the back was more of a patio instead of a seat for driving horses, as it had a railing and guard to prevent people from falling off. The remaining space was used as a place to store luggage in case anyone came with it.
The wheels were made of metal with thin rubber tires. The color was all black with a golden insignia that was the shape of a lightning bolt, with an all-red interior.
Lastly, added all sorts of protection spells and countermeasures in case someone tried to steal or destroy his carriage.
"Woah!"
"How did you do that?"
"That looks amazing! Will we be riding in this until we reach Brightfield?" Tyria looked at Kai with sparkling eyes, jumping up and down in excitement.
"Haha, yeah. Hop in."
