Chapter 98: DON’T BUY THIS Chapter (Chap 98 repeat)
Sol soon reached the General Library’s entrance and entered. He then went straight to the second floor and walked all the way to the back where no disciples were.
Afterward, he flipped over his palm and took out a small wooden box along with his last two dakkochi and three mid-grade Aether stones.
After opening the wooden box, Sol placed the items inside, before leaving the box on the ground between two shelves. He then formed several hand seals before pointing at the box.
Immediately, a blue rune inscription was imprinted inside the box on the top and a red at the bottom before fading away. Then, Sol formed more hand seals and pointed at the box once again. This time two slowly rotating blue rune inscriptions appeared below and above the box, encapsulating it in a red glow.
After doing all of this, Sol turned and hid behind some shelves. He then folded his arms and leaned his back against the shelf while closing his eyes. With that, his presence completely vanished.
About half an hour later, a red robe disciple with a disheveled appearance was seen approaching the box.
This person was someone extremely familiar. It was the youth Sol had met while climbing the Heavenly Staircase.
After looking around, the youth crouched down and bit his finger. He winched at the pain as his skin was pierced by his teeth.
Then, while holding his finger over the box, he allowed a drop of blood to fall onto the rotating black rune inscription atop the box.
It seemed it was not his first time doing this as he did it with extreme familiarity.
After the black rune inscription on top of the box absorbed the youth’s blood, both it and the other black rune at the bottom stopped their rotation, cracked in several places and then shattered altogether.
The youth quickly opened the box and took out the two dakkochi as well as the three mid-grade Aether stones.
After scarfing down the two dakkochi like he hadn’t eaten in days, the youth placed the Aether stones into his storage bag before taking out a piece of parchment.
He placed the piece of parchment inside the box and closed it. The youth then looked around once more before he fled the area.
Sol didn’t open his eyes or move from his position even after he left. He only formed a hand seal before he tapped his forehead.
A small blue rune inscription appeared on his forehead, and this allowed him to see into the box to read the parchment the youth placed inside.
After reading what was on the piece of parchment and memorizing the information, Sol formed another hand seal.
With this hand seal, the red rune inscription inside the bottom of the box shimmered before a fire spurted out and engulfed the parchment.
Sol then opened his eyes and walked away.
The youth who had acted as if he had left, came back and looked around. Seeing no one, he bent down and opened the box, but when he saw that piece of parchment was burnt to ashes, he frowned.
This wasn’t the first time he had tried to find out who was doing this by hiding nearby, but he could never figure out who it was.
However, the youth wasn’t really complaining about his current situation.
Right now he was in dire need of cultivation resources after being punished for eating in the General Library. Plus, his allowance was being reduced even until now, so these mid-grade Aether stones were a lifeline he could not lose at the moment.
Suddenly, the youth gritted his teeth.
Yet, it did not mean he wasn’t angry that he was forced into a corner and had to do this to survive.
’If it wasn’t for that bastard, would I be doing such dangerous work to make ends meet? If news of what I’m doing ever gets back to the wrong people...’
The youth couldn’t help but shiver intensely at that thought.
If he ever found that handsome bastard, he was going to pummel him!
The youth paused.
’Well, maybe I wouldn’t be able to beat the crap out of him, but I’d give him an ear full!’
After the youth thought this, he left the box where it was and went to leave the library.
Meanwhile, Sol had already left and was heading for the Teleportation Hall.
In the Academy, it was well known that the Six Holy Sects and the Five Great Clans were vying for power and resources.
But while the Holy Sects took over the main Pavilions such as the Divine Beast Pavilion and the Irregular Innate Dharma Pavilion, they didn’t truly control them in their entirety as disciples from two different Sects could be seen in one of those Pavilions.
However, the Five Great Clans were completely different.
Their Pavilions in the Academy only consisted of disciples from their Clan or outsiders who’ve joined said Clan.
So, while the Six Holy Sects’ strength was distributed across the various Pavilions to spread their influence, the Five Great Clans’ power was fully concentrated in one place in the Academy.
However, they weren’t as active as the Six Holy Sects. Their disciples kept to themselves in the Academy and were hardly seen outside of their own Pavilion Mountain. Because of this, they had cultivated a mysterious presence in the Academy.
After Sol appeared on the Jeagal Clan Pavilion Mountain, two disciples in green and white checker robes approached him.
"Brother Sol, the Young Master sent us to escort you to the meeting location."
Sol nodded casually before he followed these disciples. He was curious, but he didn’t look around at the scenery while he followed these two. He kept a calm disposition without a single fluctuation in his emotions.
After some time, Sol was led to a large courtyard in the Inner Mountain.
When he saw the courtyard, Sol thought he had left the Academy after taking the wrong teleportation circle.
The courtyard’s layout and vibe it gave off was completely different from everywhere else he had been in the Academy.
Luxurious couldn’t begin to describe it. Stone statues, black jade floor and roof tiles. Exquisite carvings of auspicious beasts on several green marble pillars. And murals depicting ancient mythical stories of battles between Deities in the past.
What was more, as soon as Sol entered the courtyard, a relaxing feeling washed over him. The Aether Energy here was simply ridiculous.
One would think this was the home of a wealthy Emperor, not a disciple’s courtyard.
"Brother Sol! You’re finally here!"
A handsome youth appeared at the top of the small steps leading into an open pavilion in the courtyard.
The two disciples left, and Sol examined this youth.
He had messy black hair and an unkempt appearance.
It didn’t seem like he was someone from a Great Clan. He was only wearing gray pants and an untied cotton shirt that exposed his chest and torso.
He seemed like an easy-going person, especially from how he greeted Sol.
"Hello, Senior Brother Jeagal."
Sol cupped his fist and bowed after he climbed up the steps of the open pavilion.
However, the youth waved his hand dismissively and enthusiastic came forward to hugged Sol while saying.
"Why are you addressing me using my Family name? You’re even calling me Senior Brother. So what if I’m a Second-Year disciple? You can just call me Brother Dae-Hyun; we’re all disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy after all."
Sol was a bit taken aback by Dae-Hyun’s friendly attitude, but he still nodded.
"Come, Brother Sol, sit. Let’s drink a bit of wine while we chat."
Dae-Hyun then ushered Sol over to a nearby table where there were three jugs of wine and two cups.
Just as Sol sat down, he sniffed the air and asked.
"What’s that smell?"
Dae-Hyun seemed shocked as he asked.
"Brother Sol, don’t tell me you can smell the Water Lily Grass in the air?"
"Water Lily Grass?"
Sol recognized the name.
Dae-Hyun nodded and then explained.
"That’s right, I bought this product from your Alchemy Pavilion. It’s a scent that’s supposed to relax the mind and body as well as help with cultivation. However, I was told it was slightly odorless when it meets with the open air, but to think Brother Sol’s senses were so sharp."
"I’m a disciple of the Alchemy Pavilion, so it would be weird if I couldn’t sense a medicinal plant."
"I see, I see. Not only is Brother Sol talented in Martial Arts but you’re also talented in Alchemy as well. That’s a terrifying combination."
As Dae-Hyun said this, he poured wine for Sol and then himself.
Sol observed his actions and smile faintly before he asked.
"Brother Dae-Hyun, could you tell me why you requested to meet with me?"
Seeing Sol’s straightforwardness, Dae-Hyun suddenly sighed and said.
"Brother Sol, please don’t be on edge, I only called you here with good intentions to form a friendship."
"What kind of friendship?"
"The kind that benefits the both of us."
After saying that, Dae-Hyun down his cup of wine before slamming it down on the table. He then looked at Sol with a serious expression as he said.
"Brother Sol, I suppose you know the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension is opening in a week’s time."
Sol nodded.
Dae-Hyun then held up three fingers and yelled.
"Three!"
Sol showed an intrigued expression upon hear that, and Dae-Hyun smiled before explaining.
"Brother Sol, I’ll pay you three times the amount of cultivation resources the Alchemy Pavilion will give you for the medicinal plants and herbs you collect in the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension! So, how about we form a friendship?"
