Chapter 86: Chapter 86- The Invincible Byeong-Ho
As the terrifying black serpent stared down Mar-Dule, Su-Jin put away his staff and started forming hand seals.
His expression was ugly as he glared at Mar-Dule with hatred. He was angry that he was forced to call out his Innate Dharma! But since he called it out, he was going to make Mar-Dule regret challenging him.
"DIE!!!"
Su-Jin roared as he finished his hand seals and pointed at Mar-Dule.
Whether he wanted to really kill Mar-Dule or he was just filled with emotions was up for debate, but one thing for sure was that this attack wasn’t simple.
With those hands seals his illusory Innate Dharma gained a tangible form. Its aura then began to change, and it seemed like a true Divine Serpent from the legends had manifested for everyone to stare in awe.
With Su-Jin’s point, this Divine Serpent released a loud screech that sent chills down everyone’s spine.
With frenzy and bloodlust in its eyes, it then charged at Mar-Dule.
In the face of this terrifying Divine Beast, anyone would feel an instinctive feeling to retreat. It was as if they were prey being targeted by not just a predator, but a terrifying monster.
However, instead of running away, Mar-Dule embraced this feeling and stood his ground.
He stared at the Divine Serpent and sneered.
"I’m supposed to be scared of you? I’ve seen chickens bigger than you!"
Mar-Dule roared out and at the same time, ripples began to emanate from his body. One could then see black runes appear all over his skin before rotund figure visibly began to slim.
BANG!!!
A horrifying amount of Metal-type Aether Energy suddenly erupted from his body and spread into the surroundings.
Su-Jin’s vicious expression changed, while everyone’s face turned to one of shock as they stared at Mar-Dule as if he was a monster.
His aura had actually completely overshadowed the Divine Serpent’s presences!
How could someone in the Mortal Realm have this much Aether Energy?
’So that’s the quality of his Runic Body....’
Sol muttered with an amazed expression on his face. However, his eyes suddenly widened as he realized something.
’Wait, isn’t a Runic Body like that cheating or something?’
At the edge of the venue, Byeong-Ho’s Master was casually standing there with no one being able to see him.
He looked at Mar-Dule with a mysterious look in his eyes.
"I initially thought my disciple would only have one competition in his generation, but where did this boy come from with this ability? He had never shown it during the Disciple Selection Test. Just with his ability to seal Aether in his flesh and muscles, he might become Jianghu’s number one cultivator in his generation when he enters the Spiritual Realm. But for now, it seems he can’t handle this ability."
On the stage, Mar-Dule’s face had become pale while blood seeped from the corner of his lips.
Mortal Realm cultivators weren’t meant to control this much Aether. It would turn deadly if Mar-Dule unsealed too much of the Aether in his body. However, with this much unsealed, his strength increased by several folds.
Mar-Dule lifted one of his sabers above his head, and all the Metal-type Aether he released coalesced onto it and extended it to form a heavenly saber.
Screeech!!!
Su-Jin’s Divine Serpent let out a loud screech and actually began retreating. It instinctively felt danger from Mar-Dule.
"You-!"
Su-Jin was dumbfounded, but he didn’t have time to finish as Mar-Dule suddenly brought down his saber.
A large black heavenly saber came down like a guillotine.
"PROTECT ME!"
Su-Jin roared, and his Innate Dharma quickly wrapped around him protectively.
Mar-Dule saber immediately made contact with the body of the Divine Serpent, and it released a bloodcurdling shriek.
"NOO!!"
Su-Jin’s eyes were bloodshot as he watched his Innate Dharma tremble before it began fading.
It wasn’t destroyed but it was severely damaged!
Releasing one’s Innate Dharma could multiply one’s strength in battle, but one of the major setbacks to releasing it was that it could be damaged by a powerful attack. Because of this, unless it was a life and death battle, it wasn’t a common occurrence for these youths to release their Innate Dharma during a fight.
After Su-Jin’s Innate Dharma was vanquished, it left him in the open to face the brunt of Mar-Dule’s saber strike’s remaining power.
Bang!
Su-Jin released a punch with everything he had, but it was no use. He immediately spat out a mouth full of blood and flew off the stage towards the Irregular Dharma Pavilion disciples, where Woo-Seong was.
Woo-Seong snorted and then slapped out with his palm. A palm projection shot out and casually slapped Su-Jin towards his Divine Beast Pavilion.
The disciples of the Divine Beast Pavilion erupted into anger when they saw that.
They weren’t angry at Mar-Dule. It was a fair battle, and in Jianghu, it was frowned upon if such fairness was not upheld.
Mar-Dule challenged Su-Jin, and he won fair and square. But what Woo-Seong did after made them see red. That slap was unnecessarily harsh, and it caused Su-Jin to cough out another mouthful of blood.
Woo-Seong cast a cursory glance at the angry disciples from the Divine Beast Pavilion before he snorted and looked away. He turned his attention to the stage to stare at Mar-Dule with narrow eyes.
Mar-Dule returned his gaze with an icy look of his own before he sheathed his sabers and left the stage. Just as he leaped off the stage and was returning to his seat, he suddenly turned and grinned at Sol while giving him a thumbs up.
Sol saw this and chuckled.
Mar-Dule was rather mischievous. He purposely sent Su-Jin flying in the direction of the Irregular Dharma Pavilion. However, it wasn’t towards Woo-Seong, but Geon-Soo next to him.
It was Mar-Dule’s way of sending a warning of sorts to Geon-Soo on Sol’s behalf. And considering the strength he showed as he defeated one of the Ten Rising Stars in the Heaven Arena, his warning was quite loud.
Geon-Soo knew what Mar-Dule intentions were and glared at him.
"With Brother Mar-Dule’s victory, the Divine Beast Pavilion’s location in the Hundred Flowers and Herbs Dimension will be transferred to the Runes and Formations Pavilion."
In other words, the Kongtong Sect’s location would be transferred to the Barbarians.
The crowd erupted into a cacophony of noise after Byeong-Ho’s announcement. This was unprecedented. Not once had the top Pavilions in the academy lost their spot. Or should they say, not once had the Six Holy Sects or the Five Great Clans lost their spot?
Byeong-Ho calmed the crowd down and then said.
"Since there are no more battles for the spots in the Hundred Flowers and Herbs Dimension, I would like to propose something new in this year’s Plum Blossom Gathering."
When everyone heard that they became curious. If it was something that Byeong-Ho was introducing, then it must be something amazing. And indeed, it was.
"Since it’s a rare occurrence for so many geniuses to gather here, why not make the best of it by having a sparring session? Anyone can go onto the stage to challenge an opponent. The match will purely be for learning our weaknesses and improving our Martial Arts together. I will go first."
After saying that Byeong-Ho stood up and rushed toward the stage.
He seemed to be in a hurry. In fact, it seemed like he was waiting for this moment for a long while.
"T-This... Is Brother Byeong-Ho really going to challenge someone? Is he really going to fight?!"
One disciple trembled as he asked in disbelief.
Who was Byeong-Ho?
He was the number one genius in Jianghu! An invincible existence in this generation!
Despite the Shaolin Sect being considered the strongest power in Jianghu as well as having someone in this generation that was said to be the most talented disciple in its history. People were forced to admit Byeong-Ho was far more talented.
The entire reason why this was the case—why people were so fanatic about Byeong-Ho, was because of the feats he accomplished when he was young.
He was able to comprehend the Huashan Sect’s 32 Plum Blossom Swordplay to the Mastery Realm at the age of twelve!
This was simply absurd to anyone who understood anything about cultivation in the Mortal Realm.
