When the two girls heard his plan, they raised their voices in concern. It took him a while, but he finally managed to convince them.

There was no day and night in the Night Wind forest. With not even a ray of sunlight being able to penetrate through the thick canopy of the jungle, the place was covered in gloomy darkness all year round.

That said, during night not only was it dark, but it also became awfully cold. Near the campsite, soldiers could be seen patrolling the area before coming and resting in their garrison.

Rations were distributed in one corner, while on the other, demonic beasts were kept caged. The entire place was orderly and organised.

On top of a tall tree that also served as a watch tower, a couple of soldiers were keeping surveillance when suddenly they noticed a couple of figures heading their way.

"I-Intruders. Quick, sound the alarms" the guard shouted.

DING... DING... DING... The cries of the alarm bell pierced through the unnatural stillness, echoing through the dense trees. Campfires flared to life, weapons were drawn, and soldiers scrambled into formation.

"What’s going on?"...

"It’s those intruders, they have found our camp"... the soldiers panicked.

"Quick, go tell lord Hu Ling"...

"Lord Hu Ling has shut himself inside the cave to refine a pill. He won’t be coming out anytime soon"...

Dark smoke spread as dark ghosts were released. On the soldiers’ command, they chased after the figures, followed by the soldiers themselves.

The front lines of the sudden chaos, three figures danced between torchlight and shadow. Two of them were beautiful girls with devastating features that would make them the centre of attention no matter where they went, and the other a demonic beast tiger with golden stripes.

Who could the three figures be other than Tang Xun’er, Lin Huiyin and Little Cloud?

"Was it alright to leave him behind like this?" Tang Xun’er spoke, looking behind her.

"Keep moving! Don’t let them encircle us! We are not leaving him behind rather distracting the nemeis for him. We will regroup with him once we bring the enemy into the trap" Lin Huiyin answered, leading forward.

GROWL~ Beside them, little cloud growled. The golden stripes on its body danced and numerous fire lances materialised in thin air. The fire lances then dropped on the enemies, slowing them down.

This was a diversion — and the three of them played their roles to perfection. Meanwhile, the entire campsite that was abuzz with activity just a moment ago became eerily quiet.

A figure moved like a shadow slipping through cracks in the night. Yang Chen crouched low, navigating the terrain with practised silence. On his back grew two baby winglets providing him with unmatched speed and agility.

Having entered the enemy territory, he narrowed his eyes and observed his surroundings. Thanks to Tang Xun’er and the others, the main force was distracted, leaving the rear camp vulnerable. A perfect opportunity.

"Yang Chen, be careful. There is a Late Stage Soul Materialisation Realm cultivator hiding here" Amon cautioned.

A late stage Soul Materiliastion cultivator was as strong as a Nine Star Battle Overlord. Could it be that this soul cultivator is the hidden boss who stopped the Special Dark Ghost from rampaging?

If it was someone else, they would have been immediately fainted from the vast killing intent it was releasing. However, Yang Chen’s steps were calm, and his eyes sharp. He didn’t need to fight the beast — just unseal the cage’s lock, and then, when the time came, release chaos from within.

He reached out, just when his hands were a few inches away from the bars, Amon hurriedly stopped him.
