DING... DING... DING... DING... one by one, Yang Chen received notification from the system, more specifically from the map, notifying him of the hostile entities present inside the pool.

Their numbers were so absurd that when he looked at the [Map], his eyes twitched uncharacteristically. The whole map was covered with numerous red dots, making it almost look like a red screen.

The old man wanted him to dive into that. If not for the fact that he was displayed in a green marker, Yang Chen would have seriously doubted whether the old man wanted to kill him.

"Do you want to dive on your own or make this old man throw you in? The choice is yours" From the side, came the ominous words of the battle king.

Dammit, there was not time to even think. He hurriedly dived in. It was much better that he jumped in himself than let this old man throw in him.

SPLASH... The water was cold and extremely chilling. The moment he entered the pool, it was as if his entire body was being frozen. It was difficult to move and his bones creaked from the unnatural weight.

That said, the coldness of the pool was the least of his worries. The real dangers were the hostile entities of the pool. Yang Chen’s senses ,which were on high alert, suddenly sensed an attack coming from his behind.

Immediately shifting his body out of the way, he barely dodged the attack. It was also then he was able to clearly see the appearance of his assailant. A fish with a sword like nose.

"Hoh, Demonic Swordfish huh. Kukuku... looks like you are up for a hell lot of pain"

Amon did not explain, and neither did he need to. Yang Chen could see with his own eyes why he said what he said.

The thing with Demonic Swordfish was that they were never alone. They swam in a school and their number ranged from hundreds to even thousands. Individually, they weren’t strong, probably early stages of battle master.

However, they possessed a weapon that was deadly to even a Battle Overlord. The long sword like nose, the swordfish’s innate weapon. It was so deadly and sharp that it could penetrate through all kinds of defensive armor.

What’s more, due to being extremely swift underwater, it was hard to dodge their attacks. Yang Chen employed his [Map] to dodge left and right. However, it was impossible to dodge all of them.

In just a matter of seconds, numerous bloody wounds were opened on his body, and the water around him turned red.

RUN! There was only one thought in his mind. The pool was corroding his body, making it sluggish and heavy. If he didn’t run, he would seriously die.

Yang Chen folded his hands and weaved a sign. Battle energy churned and emanated from his body in droves. Next, they turned 180 degrees and coalesced behind his back, forming two baby winglets.

On his will, the wings flapped, giving his body unmatched speed and swiftness even underwater.

Activating the newly learned [Crimson Golden Wings], Yang Chen ran from the school of swordfish.

A figure streaked through the water, pursued by numerous deadly demonic fishes. Left, right, Zig-zag, the figure employed every tactic that he could. However, he was still unable to break free from his pursuers.

"You fool, there is no point in running. Use your battle energy cloak to block them" A voice sounded out just when the wings disappeared, and he found himself with no way out.

Instinctively trusting that voice, or maybe tired from the constant running, Yang Chen stopped in his tracks and decided to face the swordfish.

"HAAAHHHH!!"

He gave a battle cry to rouse his spirit and used all of his battle energy for defence. After a practitioner steps into the battle grandmaster realm, they are able to emit their battle energy to form a defensive cloak.

This cloak not only protects them, but it is also their last line of defence. However, since Yang Chen always had his defensive armours with him, he relied on the battle cloak very little.

However, in this instance, he did not have any armor with him as it was already destroyed in the previous battle. He only had his battle energy cloak to rely on.

SWOOSH... SWOOSH... CRACK... As one would expect, it easily cracked after a couple of stabs from the school of swordfish.

"Concentrate your battle energy, do not spread it too thin. Bring out a mental image for your cloak" the voice advised.

Yang Chen followed the instructions and strengthened his defences. As a result, his battle cloak shrank; however, it was much more dense than before.

CRACK... numerous new holes were opened and swiftly recovered. The process continued for a while. The school of Demonic Swrodfish were relentless and their weapons deadly.

Every time they opened a new hole in the cloak, Yang Chen would bleed. However, he would still persist and follow the instructions of the voice. Slowly by slowly, with a speed that could be observed, his battle energy cloak started strengthening, becoming much denser and concentrated.

And after a few couple of hours, a single swordfish alone was unable to penetrate through his cloak.

Blurgh... Blurgh... In an area completely turned crimson from the blood seeping out of his body, Yang Chen tried to stop the air leaking from his lungs. His vision was slowly getting blurry, and he desperately needed to breathe.

However, the school of Swordfish was blocking his path, leaving no path for him to escape. The situation was truly despairing.
