The old man was dragging Yang Chen’s body, probably taking him back to the Yan clan where his fate would be worse than death. This time, he was completely and utterly defeated. He tried his best, but the enemy was far too powerful.

On the ground not too far, Tang Xun’er reached out, unwilling to see Yang Chen being taken away. Tears streaked down her cheeks and she struggled miserably to do something.

"No... somebody please help. Grandpa...!!" With tears clouding her eyes, she could only think of her dependable grandfather who always protected and spoiled her.

"Please... help him" Unbeknownst to her, the hairpin that she always kept very close to her shone with a dim light.

While still grabbing Yang Chen’s neck, the first elder slowly rose in the air. Next, he was just about to fly away when his eyes suddenly hardened.

The sun above was all of a sudden blotted by the clouds and tremendous pressure that even made a Battle Tyrant like him nervous, covered the place.

"This is..!!" Suddenly, realisation dawned on him, and cracks started appearing on his otherwise arrogant and composed exterior.

An old man with well trimmed white beard and hair slowly descended from the clouds. He had his hands behind his back, wore an impressive looking armor and had a wide frame like that of a bear.

Just by standing there and doing nothing, he exuded such oppression that it demanded one’s attention. More than an old man, he looked more like a war general who had fought numerous battles.

"Yan Moli, you have really shed all shame and stooped so low as to bully younger generation members. Have the Yan clan resorted to becoming barbarians?".

The first elder, who was referred to as Yan Moli, bunched his brows at that comment. He first cupped his hands, giving the courtesy that a practitioner would give to another respectable and strong practitioner before speaking.

"Lord Wuji, this is a matter of my Yan clan. This boy is someone who harmed my fourth young master. I would like you to stay out of..."

BANG... before Yan Moli could complete his sentence, a powerful force that travelled through space, smacked him on the face, sending him flying back. The force caused his hold on the young man to loosen and the latter fell down on the ground.

Nearby, the young woman opened her eyes and stared at the white beard man who had now teleported beside her.

"Grandpa...".

The old man or rather Tang Wuji’s hands trembled as he observed her injuries. His sharp brows twisted in fury and pain "That bastard Moli, he was extremely ruthless".

He extended his palm and inserted his soul energy into her, slowly disintegrating the rampaging foreign energy within her.

"Xun’er, I told you notto sneak out without telling me. Now see what happened".

Colours slowly returned in her previously pale face and Tang Xun’er was finally able to speak once again.

"Grandpa... Yang Chen".

She pointed at the young man who had fallen unconscious "Even at this time, you are still worried about others?" Tang Wuji sighed.

"Don’t worry, he is alright. His physique is rather unique, it could be a heavenly constitution. I’m amazed that he is still alive even after such a beating".

Hearing that, Tang Xun’er released a breath of relief.

After giving an impromptu first aid to his dear granddaughter, Tang Wuji turned towards the captive demonic spirit in the pagoda and flicked his sleeves. Immediately, the space around the pagoda became strangled and the seal was broken.

Yun who was finally out, immediately landed beside Tang Xun’er to check on her condition first. It was only when he saw that she was out of danger did the immense murderous intent in his body receded a little.

Yun did not explain anything more and returned inside the pendant, leaving Tang Wuji to stare at the young man with doubt and confusion.

Who is this young man? Why is even Yun holding him in such high regard?"

At this moment, his eyes shifted to the distant forest where he sent Yan Moli flying. The latter had already recovered and was now standing in the air, raging and fuming.

"Tang Wuji, even if you are the protector of the empire, you should know what standing against me means. Are you trying to start a war with my Yan Clan?".
