Chapter 331: Chapter 331- Lava Island

As this was a battle skill he just purchased from the shop not long ago, it was still in the beginner completion stage. That said, even in that state, a Mystic Grade battle skill cannot be underestimated.

Yang Chen glanced at the slowly magnifying mouth of the Ancient Lava Crocodile and executed the first technique.

ROARR... it was as if a sleeping beast came alive, the spear in his hands emitted a brilliant orange light as he executed the movement as per the instruction.

BANG... a vague orange dragon head manifested from the tip of the spear and charged towards the incoming ancient crocodile. The resultant clash was a sight of pure power and wonder.

Lava was displaced for dozens of meters and the charging Ancient Lava Crocodile was slammed backwards, a few of its teeth breaking apart.

"This!!" As the user, Yang Chen himself was surprised, his eyes wide open as he looked at the spear in his hand. The might of a Mystic Grade battle skill was at full display. Although Ethereal grade was compared to five star weapon from the [Shop], but this... this was something else.

Slowly by slowly, the system was starting to show its true power. That said...

"It was too shallow" Yang Chen muttered as he looked at the now enraged Ancient Lava Crocodile. The attack earlier did some damage; however, due to the completion rate being too low, it did not manage to penetrate through its thick armor.

"I guess I have no choice. [Nine Brilliant Mysterious Change— Second Change]"

A faint greeinish aura wafted off from Yang Chen. Just as he was about to go all out, Amon stopped him.

"Wait, you don’t have time to tangle with these beasts here. You need to head for the centre of this array as soon as possible"...

"Even if you say that, this beast here doesn’t have any intention to let me go. What’s more, my previous attack seemed to have agitated it further" Yang Chen shrugged his shoulders.

At this moment, the demon revealed a mysterious smile "Don’t worry, it’s here. Can you sense it?"

With Amon pressing him, he sensed a faint response from one of his skill. The [Thousand Curse Puppet Sutra] showed a response which meant that... the demonic puppet was near. The skill had completely activated, bringing the puppet under his control.

Yang Chen glanced around and sure enough, he saw a figure pop up in the distance with a flash of light. The Demonic Puppet had entered the Sky Devouring Flame formation.

"Quick, order it to fight those demonic beasts. That way, you will be able to move towards the centre of this array".

Yang Chen was immediately on it. He gave up on tangling with the Ancient Lava Crocodile that was hot on his tail and started rushing towards the centre without a care of being attacked.

GROWL... Needless to say, his attempt to flee from the battle enraged the ancient crocodile greatly who opened its mouth wide and fired a charged breath of flames.

The world behind Yang Chen rapidly turned orange and all the rocks around the area melted into liquid. Yet despite facing a life threatening attack, he did not turn around and continued to advance forward.

BANG...

Just as the breath was about to him, a crimson figure rushed from the distance and stood in front of him.

Like a wall, they completely tanked the attack that was meant for Yang Chen. The blast completely covered the figure and the surroundings in a searing heat of liquidised flames that made one’s hair stand on end.

Watching the aftermath, the latter was shocked by the scene. He couldn’t help but wonder if his four star armor would have been able to take that attack. Nevertheless, even after getting hit by such an attack, the demonic puppet did not even move from its place.

It took a step forward amidst the lava surrounding it and gave a deep feral growl that reverberated across the entire lava pool. The presence of a demonic puppet attracted attention from all the surrounding practitioners.

For them, the Ancient Lava Crocodiles were already too much to deal with. Now with the addition of a demonic puppet, the situation had spiralled completely out of control.

"That Demonic Puppet, it’s being surrounded by the Ancient Crocodiles"...

"My goodness, there are more than a dozen crocodiles headed its way".

Thanks to the demonic puppet’s strength, it attracted the attention of all the Ancient Lava Crocodiles in the surrounding. Even the ones attacking the random practitioners were drawn to the demonic puppet.

Still advancing forward, Yang Chen couldn’t help but turn his head to ask.

"Don’t worry, even if the puppet has sustained severe damage, it was still something that was created in the ancient times. In terms of build quality alone, that demonic puppet can easily withstand the assault of all the Ancient Lava Crocodiles here," Amon assured.

Since the latter was so assured, he stopped worrying and focused his all in advancing forward. The dangers of the Sky Devouring Flame Formation were many and the slightest mistake could spell death or extreme injuries. As such, Yang Chen had no mind to pay attention to anything else.

"That is?!!"

After progressing for a while, the scenery around him finally changed. In this place filled with lava and debris, he saw a small island standing proudly.

"This... this must be the centre of the formation, right?" Yang Chen muttered to himself. He didn’t have time to stop and marvel as he could feel multiple presences hot on his tail.

Immediately, he made his way over to the island. The island floating at the centre of the lava pool wasn’t particularly big nor small. It was uninhabited, without any trace of flora or fauna and was consumed in rivers of flowing molten lava all around.

That said, the island wasn’t completely empty. Unlike the outer perimeter, the centre of the island had a small shrine where a huge tree and a dias could be seen.
