"You are right" Thinking in a similar line, a grin also appeared on Yang Chen’s face.

The next couple of days passed by in the blink of an eye as he and Tang Xun’er familiarized themselves with the desert ruins. They collected information as they roamed around the place while trying out different things.

Of course, the main reason why he was bothering to do all that was to make an impression on her. The more they interacted and talked with each other the more he would be in her mind and the closer he would get.

Four days later, it was finally the day the desert auction opened. In the heart of the ruins, there was a huge hall with towering architecture and a stunning design.

The place might have been an important place previously. However, time had eroded all its previous glory leaving only a husk with broken down construction.

That said, compared to any other building in the desert ruins, the hall was one of the few structures that was still complete. At this moment, it had been restored and renovated to look new so that it could be used as the auction house by the Star Dragon Chamber.

At the front entrance of the hall, a large queue of people wanting to get inside, formed. The queue was so long that it looked like a river of bubbling heads with no end in sight.

The queue was for common people, for VIPs and special guests of the Star Dragon chamber, there was a back entrance. However, since Yang Chen was no VIP and Tang Xun’er couldn’t reveal her identity, they had to line up with the other people here.

Once in front, he showed them the badge he received from the staff of the Sky Eagle guild to gain entry.

The inside of the hall was renovated more grandly than the outside. In fact, the extravagance of the place could even outshine the auction houses from other cities he had seen so far. Even though this was a place inside the desert ruins.

"As expected of the most powerful auction house in the capital. The resources that they could assemble aren’t something anybody could hope to match" Yang Chen muttered in awe.

"It’s nothing, let’s go the staff will show us to our seats" The latter quickly shook her head and took the lead.

Time passed by and the seats around the two of them quickly started filling up. As someone who came in through the Sky Eagle Guild, they were assigned the middle seat. Although this position couldn’t be said to be great, it was still better than those who were sitting at the bottommost section of the hall.

As for the VIPs, they got the top section with their own personal seating area.

While Yang Chen was observing his surroundings, suddenly he got an alarm from the system. Quickly identifying the place it generated from, he hurriedly opened the map only to realise that three black dots had entered his vicinity.

The black dots represented the people he had put a tracker on earlier. That is to say, they were the trio from the Ocean Splitting Sect. The map sent an alarm to him because of their close proximity.

"Those three from the Air Engine are here. They are seated at the top right corner of the hall. Both of you, avoid looking there"

Almost at the same time, Yun’s warning sounded out. It appeared that the demonic spirit had sensed their presence too.

"Eh?!! Alright" Tang Xun’er seemed to panic for a second before quickly recovering her wits seeing that Yang Chen next to her didn’t react much at all.

"Were you already aware that they would be here too?" She questioned, pulling the hood on her face to hide herself even more.

Hearing her question, Yang Chen laughed bitterly before replying "The desert ruins may be big; however, it isn’t big enough for us to not encounter them even once especially if we are going to stay in the desert ruins"

"And besides, we are bound to meet them in the desert auction since this is a chance to increase one’s power before one ultimately heads for the ancient sect".

Tang Xun’er nodded her head in understanding.

DONG... as they were chatting, a loud drum sound rang out, attracting the attention of everyone present towards the stage.

On the stage, an old man wearing a violet gold robe with dragon patterns engraved, slowly walked into the centre while all eyes focused on him.

Next, the old man who had part greying hair, looked at the audience that had gathered before him and a small smile cracked on his face.

The auction today is also for that reason"
