Chapter 287- Desert Auction
Chapter 287: Chapter 287- Desert Auction
With such a powerful faction conducting the auction, there was no way one would even think about stealing the treasures, or else they would be digging their own graves.
"Desert auction huh" Yang Chen muttered under his breath. He was quite interested in this auction and wanted to see what kind of treasures emerged from it.
Who knows if anything would catch his fancy? One thing that he learned after going through all the experiences so far, was that one cannot be completely prepared. It was always better to have one more life saving means or trump cards in your hands.
Yang Chen was planning to buy any treasure or item that caught his interest. In any case, he still had yet to spend the money he received from Lin Mang from the cloud city. Although he didn’t know if his wealth would be enough, it was still better to try than regret not going.
And so with that, he made up his mind to attend the desert auction.
While Tang Xun’er bitterly struggled to finish her food, which quite honestly looked comical with the way she was forcing herself, Yang Chen sat opposite to her while he took in all sorts of information.
In a place like the tavern, all sorts of information exchange occurs. As such, he was able to learn quite a few things. Although many of them weren’t related to the ancient sect or desert auction, it was still quite useful.
For example, from the mouths of some practitioners who clearly had too many drinks, he was able to learn the names of a couple of powerful sects and faction that were drawn here by the ancient sect.
Among them, there was also the name of the sect, the trio who were after Tang Xun’er belonged to. The Ocean Splitting Sect.
Of course, as one of the top three sects of the capital, their influence far overshadowed all the other sects. Nevertheless, a local snake was still a local snake.
No matter how powerful the Ocean Splitting Sect was, they were situated far in the capital. Their coercion and influence had less effect here. As such, even they had to give way to the local clans and factions.
Interestingly, Xuan sect was also on the list and was considered one of the top contenders for the race to get the inheritance of the ancient sect.
The list didn’t mean much to Yang Chen; however, it was always good to know about one’s competition.
With all the powerful sects and factions arriving, it won’t be an easy task to get the inheritance of the ancient sect. That said, he wasn’t among the people who gave up easily.
Just because things started becoming difficult, it doesn’t mean that he should give up? He had struggled for more than seven years suffering under a chronic disease in his previous life. At that time, he had never given up.
Sure, he would cuss out many a time to the world for the unfair life. Heck, he would even get suicidal thoughts; nevertheless, every time he had such thoughts, he would suppress them down.
In his second life, he would get stronger no matter what. As such, he wouldn’t back down even if it meant he had to go against these powerful sects.
"Let’s get going, things will start becoming cumbersome here soon. It’s better we avoid it" Yang Chen stated standing up from his seat.
Now that he had gotten most of the relevant information there was no point in staying here. All the other information that he was picking up, was all useless and nonsensical chatter.
"Eh?! Are we going already? Wasn’t the plan to get information from the people here?" Startled, Tang Xun’er questioned.
"I have already collected all the information that we need" Yang Chen answered.
"What? Already!! But I didn’t see you moving away from your seat" his words caused the girl to be even more shocked.
"I have my means. In any case, let’s go. You don’t want to be here when things get rough"
Throwing those mysterious words, he was already on his way out. Tang Xun’er slightly hesitated but still followed behind him.
The both of them returned to their rooms. Right after they left, a commotion erupted in the tavern.
.
.
Lazying on his bed, Yang Chen gladly welcomed the series of notifications that continuously rang inside his head. Needless to say, the notification was about the mischief points.
"Hehe, so they finally started executing the plan huh? Good, good, escalate more. Give me more points" he laughed.
The two assassins that were sent after them had been brainwashed by him using the [Purple Temptation Eyes]. He sent them after the Innkeeper. Now they had started executing his orders.
The instruction he gave them was to wreak havoc in the tavern after he and Tang Xun’er left the place and attack every and all people that were currently there.
The commotion was from them using their battle skills and clashing against other people.
[Ding... you have commited a mischief... points awarded]...
[Ding... you have committed a mischief]...
[Ding... you have committed a mischief... 350 points awarded]...
[400 points awarded].
At this point, the series of notifications slowed down and the mischief points that he received, reached its highest point. Yang Chen believed that by now, the tavern was completely wracked and the fiasco was over.
Either the two assassins were apprehended or all the people ran away from the tavern. Whatever the result was, it was of no concern to him. All he cared about was receiving mischief points and annoying the heck out of the innkeeper.
The last part was also the main reason for him doing all this. He had brainwashed the assassins just to get even with the latter. If the other party hadn’t started this first, he wouldn’t have bothered to do something like this either.
" Almost 200,000 mischief points not bad" Yang Chen muttered to himself. That was the total amount of mischief points he had with him right now.
Since leaving the Cloud City, he had barely committed a mischief. Thanks to that, his points had come to a standstill.
