Chapter 285: Chapter 285- Ancient Stele (2)

"Although he helped you, I’m still not completely convinced about him. All of this could simply be an act to get closer to you. He is a complete mystery with no clues to be found about him. Even the battle skill he just used, is an extremely rare skill and not something someone from a remote place should possess"

Yun voiced his doubts. Unlike the girl, he wasn’t so easy to get close to.

"But he doesn’t have any reason to get close to me. Didn’t you see earlier, he doesn’t even know my face. And even the name I gave him, he easily believed that".

On the girl’s words, Yun became silent unable to come up with any retort. It was true that he had no reason to get close to her. Heck, he didn’t even recognise her when she revealed her face.

And this was a point that he had personally checked. When he looked at Yang Chen’s clueless face when she revealed her identity for the first time, other than being slightly taken aback from her beauty which everyone did when meeting her for the first time, there was no other hidden emotion.

If there was any, it was pure confusion and embarrassment from not knowing something that everyone did.

"That might be true; however, it is still good to be on guard with others. You of all people should take that to heart. You are too naïve and easy to trick"

Like a parent, educating their child, Yun appeared more like a father who was trying to teach some life lesson to his daughter than a demonic spirit.

"Unghh... I know... but.. but... I didn’t feel any malice or any uncomfortable feeling coming from him. I don’t know why, but for some reason, I feet extremely close to him. This feeling is difficult to explain and is more like an intuition rather than a feeling. But I could tell that he would never do anything to hurt me"

Tang Xun’er pouted before speaking in an adorable and mysterious tone.

Seeing that side of her, Yun couldn’t find it in himself to be angry with her any longer "Well, you do possess ’that’ legendary heavenly Constitution. As such, if it’s your intuition, then it ought to be correct. Still you need to maintain some level of guard around him" Yun suddenly mentioned something unusual.

In response, the girl gave a silly smile while nodding her head.

"Well, even if he does not have any ill intentions for now, you should still be careful of him. That boy, he is not ordinary. To be able to practice such battle skills, the origin of that boy should be something that you should be wary of" Yun added as a means of caution.

"You think so? I understand, I will maintain some level of caution around him. As for that rare battle skill, couldn’t he have gotten that from some lucky encounter? Just like how I found you injured and hiding in this mysterious necklace, it could be that person found the battle skills from one of his chance encounters" Tang Xun’er spoke arriving at a logical answer.

"Could be, or it could also be that he has some mysterious expert or guide helping him around. If not, how could someone like him have the guts to challenge the Yan clan all by himself?"

When he spoke the last part, even Yun couldn’t help but doubt his own words. From what he had seen so far, it didn’t appear that the boy had anyone powerful helping or guiding him around.

If not, he wouldn’t have fled the way he did from the Yan clan and most of all, Yun would have sensed their presence or at least knew that they were there if they were around.

Since there was no one around the boy, he could only come to the conclusion that there was no one aiding the boy.

.

.

Tang Xun’er and Yun did not have to wait much, before long a knock sounded on the door.

"He’s here. Let’s go, it’s time we collect some information on the desert ruins" the demonic spirit spoke.

When Tang Xun’er opened the door, it was indeed Yang Chen who was waiting for her outside.

"Let’s go".

With that, the two of them headed out. Well with heading out, they were only going to the tavern downstairs and not outside.

One of the main reasons behind choosing an inn to stay, other than waiting for the desert ruins to open was to gather information. And what better place to gather information than a tavern?

After the two came down, they swiftly found one seat before placing their orders. Of course, in a rundown shack like Jin’s den, one cannot expect good food. Neverhtless, it was customary that they did so or else they would be standing out too much.

But of course, not everyone knew that. A certain someone who had been raised like a princess their whole life would never understand what street food tastes like.

"Wha-What kind of food is this? It’s burnt, over cooked and has too much flavour" the girl looked at her food and found it amusing.

"What else did you expect from a place like this? The desert ruins is in the middle of the great desert. As such, you won’t be finding any fancy restaurants here"

Yang Chen spoke devouring his own food. For him, food was food, it did not matter if it was some fancy food served on a fancy plate or mass produced street food.

"H-How can you eat such a thing?" Tang Xun’er tried a small serving. However, the next instant her face turned green and she couldn’t help but make an expression.

"Well, I knew it wouldn’t suit your sophisticated taste. However, if you want to stay in here until the desert ruins open, you will have to get used to it".

The girl pouted; neverhtless, she still picked up her plate and forcefully gulped a small mouthful at a time. Seeing her forcing herself while almost making a crying face, Yang Chen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Just what kind of sheltered life did she lie until now?
