The Greatest Disciple of the Evil Sect -
Chapter 281- Tracker Pin
Chapter 281: Chapter 281- Tracker Pin
As promised, the Demonic Spirit did his best to guide them around.
Heaven grade!! When Yang Chen heard those words, his breathing couldn’t help but quicken. A heaven grade skill even he only had two or three in his arsenal thanks to the insane price of these skills.
For the inheritance of this sect to be at the very least a Heaven grade, it came as quite a surprise for him. Should he say as expected of a sect which existed in the ancient times? Anything that was found within was bound to be extraordinary.
No wonder the place was bustling with people. It wasn’t just him who was thinking along this line, every single person present here came with the same intention. However, it remained to be seen who would actually be able to possess those rumoured treasures.
After all, the strength that the people possessed here, cannot be slighted. Besides with the number of people and experts the various sects and factions sent here, even if one possessed the luck and opportunity to get their hands on a treasure, whether or not they can enjoy it was still up for debate.
Even Tang Xun’er was surprised. it needed to be said that even in powerful factions and clans in the empire, a Heaven Grade skill was fairly rare.
"I can’t see any traces of the ancient sect anywhere" The girl muttered standing on tiptoe as she tried to look above the shoulders of the crowd.
"That is because it is hidden by a formation. There is no point in blindingly looking around. First, secure a place to stay before going around the place to search for information" Yun advised.
.
.
Jin’s Den... that was the name of the inn that Yang Chen and Tang Xun’er decided to enter. The establishment was near the centre of the ruins and looked quite weathered.
That said, despite looking quite worn down with spiderwebs and cracks running along its wall, the establishment provided shelter for travellers and passersby alike.
When Yang Chen and Tang Xun’er entered, the first thing that greeted them was the tavern. The warm scent of the spices and incense mingled in the air.
Lanterns cast a soft, flickering light across the room, illuminating the worn wooden tables and mismatched chairs that filled the common area. At this moment, most of the tables and chairs were filled with cultivators and travellers.
They gathered while sharing a meal, sharing stories of their adventures and talking about the latest topic that was going around the place, the ancient sect.
The entrance of Yang Chen and Tang Xun’er did not cause anyone to bat their eye as this place was already filled with robed figures. As such, nobody paid much attention to two more shady people.
"I want two rooms, book it until the ancient sect opens"
The Innkeeper simply stared at him with a side eye before saying in an offhanded manner. "That would be twenty silver profound coins. Pay upfront or get lost".
The innkeeper’s manner was quite bad. However, in a place filled with all kinds of people, if you show any weakness it would spell you being taken advantage of. Thus it couldn’t be helped.
Yang Chen nodded, he was just about to toss twenty silver profound stones to him, when...
"Ah, let me pay for this. How can I trouble my benefactor for such a small thing? At the very least let me do this" Tang Xun’er insisted on paying.
Why was this girl headstrong in weird cases? Not wanting to open another debate with her, Yang Chen simply relented.
"Hehe," The girl smiled. She searched through her space before quickly taking out a violet coloured chunk of stone.
When he saw that his eyes widened and he quickly covered it. Next, he swiftly passed twenty silver profound stones to the innkeeper before taking the keys to their room.
"Eh? What are you doing? I told you that I would be paying"
After being swiftly pulled up to the next floor, Tang Xun’er vehemently protested.
Yang Chen looked at her clueless expression before sighing in exasperation "Were you trying to pay using an Anethyst Profound stone just now?"...
"That’s right"...
"You!! Do you even know the conversion rate?"...
"Of course, I know" She looked at him as if he was making fun of her "Isn’t one Amethyst Profound stone = a thousand gold profound stones?"...
"Correct and the two rooms are only twenty silver profound stones. This is already an extremely overrated price and they could get away with it because the dessert ruin is unlike any other place"
"It is filled with all kinds of people both barbaric and scholarly. So imagine what would happen if you take out an Amethyst profound stone there. Two people carrying around such money, you would only be asking for trouble and end up revealing your identity in the process"...
"He is right, you should be more careful Xun’er"
Yun appeared beside them. the demonic spirit was of the same mind.
"Ungh... I see" The girl pouted her lips and nodded her head in understanding.
"It’s good if you understand. Here is your key, I will be retiring to my room first" Saying that, Yang Chen turned towards his room and disappeared inside.
The rooms that they were assigned to, were at the end of the floor and next to each other. They weren’t too big nor were they small, just enough for a person to live in.
As for comfort, one shouldn’t expect it when coming to a place like this in the first place. A simple wooden bed with a bare minimum cushion was the only thing that was given.
Yang Chen sat on the bed and stared out of the window. From the tidbits of information that he gathered earlier, he understood that the ancient sect had only partially surfaced.
If one wanted to enter, they would have to wait for it to completely surface. As for any further information, he would have to gather it later when he goes out.
