Chapter 269: Chapter 269- Desert Ruins

The Sky Eagle Guild was in the air travel business and operated many Air Engines that offered safe passage through the great desert. Passengers from all corners of the sand city sought the services of the Sky Eagle Guild. After all, journeying the great desert on foot was a foolish decision.

Not only did it have numerous perils, but the desert was harsh and unforgiving where danger lurked around every corner. Powerful demonic beasts prowled the sands, their roars echoing across the vast expanse.

Without the protection of an Air Engine, travellers risked falling victim to these ferocious creatures. Moreover, the desert’s ever-shifting sands made navigation a daunting task.

The scorching sun beat down relentlessly, blurring the horizon and disorienting even the most seasoned travellers. Sandstorms could whip up at a moment’s notice, engulfing everything in their path and reducing visibility to zero.

In such conditions, even the most experienced guides could lose their way, thus condemning travellers to wander aimlessly until their supplies ran out.

Given the risk, it was only natural people would opt for the much safer means of travel. Due to all of the aforementioned reasons, the Sky Eagle Guild’s air travel service was a necessity for anyone looking to traverse the desert safely.

With their skilled pilots, powerful mercenaries and sturdy Air Engines, they offered a safer means to those seeking to cross the treacherous desert, ensuring a swift, comfortable, and above all, free from the perils of the desert, journey.

Swift, it was also the reason why Yang Chen chose to travel from the air engine. As he had the [Map] option with him, he did not worry about losing his way. However, he wanted to get out of the Yan province as soon as possible.

After a while, Yang Chen entered the huge building that was the headquarters of the Sky Eagle Guild. As expected of a wealthy merchant group who became an overlord of a region, the interior of the building was far more magnificent than what could be seen from the outside.

Luxurious tapestries, stylish furnitures and numerous beautiful lanterns lit the place. The place was packed with people with different counters catering to these people.

There was also a lounging room and tavern that served food. All in all, the place had everything a traveller would need.

After being dazzled by the ambience of the place Yang Chen picked his pace and arrived before a counter. Inside, a staff wearing a plain green robe that had the insignia of the Sky Eagle Guild was waiting.

"Welcome to the Sky Eagle Guild. Are you here for the Desert Auction or to travel to the Canalave city?" the staff asked.

The Canalave city is the city that comes after one crosses the great desert. Once he reached this city, he would officially be out of the influence of the Yan clan. That said...

"What do you mean by the Desert Auction?" This sudden word attracted his attention.

"Hm? You don’t know? You must not be from here then. Anyways, the Sky Eagle Guild usually only offers travel from sand city to Canalave city. However, this time, the circumstances are a little different"

". It is said that a hunter accidentally discovered a ruined city in the desert and found numerous treasures there. There are also rumours that there are inheritance of an ancient sect there"

"As such, the desert city became a huge sensation as news about it spread all around the region. Many factions and sects are hurrying to Sand City to travel to the desert ruins. As for the auction, since the hunter who got the treasure knows that he won’t be able to hold onto the treasure, has invited a huge auction house from the capital to auction of his items. Thus everyone is rushing to the desert Auction" the staff explained.

So that was the case, Yang Chen nodded his head. No wonder he saw so many people with powerful auras here. It appeared that all of them belonged to different factions who came to the sand city for the desert auction.

As Yang Chen observed the huge crowd inside the guild, he was amazed by the number of Battle Grandmasters that were here. To be able to attract these prideful Battle Grandmasters who were sect leaders of their own sect if not elder, the allure of the treasures that were found in the desert ruins could be imagined.

"It is not only the Battle Grandmaster" Amon commented seated atop his shoulders.

When Yang Chen looked at him in a manner that said what did he mean, he simply pointed at the distant corner of the building.

There he could see a bunch of people who belonged to the same faction, lazying around in ostentatious manner. They wore pale blue robes and carried elegant swords on their backs. Their brows were like unsheathed sword and each and every one of them was handsome and gave off a noble aura.

From their manner and the attitude that looked down on others, it was clear that they were discples of a powerful sect.

However, this was not what drew Yang Chen’s attention. His eyes was fixed on the old man among the group.

Although at a glance this old man who had a head full of white hair and stern looking face, seemed ordinary with not even a trace of any aura that could be sensed from him, Yang Chen who possessed acute senses could still feel the whiff of danger from him.

It needs to be mentioned that even a Eight or Nine Star Battle Grandmaster cannot make him feel that kind of danger. Even if he couldn’t fight them head on, he would still be able to keep his life intact and hold on to his own.

However, the sense of danger that he felt from this elder, was something that surpassed that level. If he had to compare it with something, it would be when he met that Hall master from the Yan clan.
