He had long black hair that reached till his shoulders and sharp eyebrows just like a sword. On his waist, he had a belt and strapped on that belt was a sword. Even though it was sheathed, Yang Chen could still feel its powerful sword aura.

"Sure enough, if you lay out a trap, the rat is sure to bite" the middle aged man spoke.

His eyes which were still glowing even in the darkness of the night were precisely locked onto his position.

"Now this is amazing, even though you are just standing there, your presence is hidden so well that even I might have missed you" the man muttered.

’He can see me’ There was no longer any confusion left, Yang Chen was sure that this person could perfectly see him.

"Why are you standing there gawking? Run!! He is a Battle Overlord, you are no match for him" Amon shouted in alarm.

immediately, Yang Chen activated Ghost Steps and blitzed out of the city.

"Haha, stop right there. You can’t run after laying your hands on a member of our clan" the middle aged man shouted. His voice attracted the attention of every guard present around this part of the wall.

"Hall Master, what’s wrong?" the guards asked.

"Contact the other Hall Masters and the disciplinary faction, tell them that I found the perpetrator. Also, I want everyone in Eight Star Battle Master class cultivation and above to come after me. I am going to go give chase to this person"

Saying so, the middle aged man jumped down the wall.

Not far away from Yan City, near a small forested region, Yang Chen could be seen sprinting past the trees at an unbelievable speed. He would constantly change his direction and from time to time glance back.

What Amon said, was the truth. Employing simultaneous activation, used up a lot of battle energy. Even for a battle grandmaster like him with a heavenly constitution, he might possess more battle energy than an ordinary battle grandmaster.

However, it was impossible for him to keep it up for long. Not to mention, he was currently activating both the skills without any reserve. He couldn’t help it after all, the one chasing after him was the hall master of the yan clan, a genuine Battle overlord.

The forces of the Yan clan is on its way and soon, more Hall Masters and members of the clan would come after him. Once he got caught, the consequences would be unimaginable. Hence the reason why he was running frantically.

"Then what should I do? You are the one who told me that I can’t fight a Battle overlord" Yang Chen asked, he was hoping that the demon had any idea which could help him get out of a situation like this.

"You can’t, at least in your current level. There is just too much of a gap between your cultivation level. Fighting that man would be suicidal; however, that is only if you didn’t have the grade 4 armour with you".

At the mention of the armour, Yang Chen suddenly realised that he had it on. Probably because of all the events that happened in the yan city, it must have slipped his mind.

That’s right, he had the four star Armour, Verdant Mail, on. He bought it back in the fallen Mountain range after he levelled up to the Battle Grandmaster Realm.

The Greedvil system [Shop] allowed him the host to buy armours a grade above his own cultiovation. For example, when he was just a battle master, he was able to buy grade 3 armour. Now that he was a battle grandmaster, he was able to buy the next grade which is grade 4.

It needs to be mentioned that items above grade 2 in the [Shop] came with a special ability. The ability varied depending on what kind of item it was and its grade. But usually, a weapon came with an offensive ability whereas, an armour came with a defensive ability.

Nonetheless, the abilities these items bestowed are strong in their respective levels. For example, the ability his three star armor provided was [Guard] that created a barrier of sorts around him that stopped all kinds of attack.

The barrier was powerful enough that even some Seven Star Battle Grandmaster would have difficulty breaking it. As for the Four Star Armour Verdant Mail that Yang Chen currently had on came with an ability that could stop even late stage Battle Overlords.

With the ability of the tier 4 armour, the other party shouldn’t be able to kill him, at least for the short term. However, even if he was able to preserve his life for an hour or two, it was all the same thing if he couldn’t deal with the other party either. Using the ability would only delay the inevitable.

"Knowing that I have the ability of the tier 4 armour to rely on does make me a little relief. However, with no way to retaliate, I would be a sitting duck after the ability of my armour goes down".

"There is one way; however, I don’t want to use it if possible" Amon replied.
