Chapter 231: Chapter 231- Branch Master of the Yan City Alchemist Association, Yao Dian
Even in the Special feature section of the [Shop] which was now unavailable, even the cheapest Heavenly Constitution was more than 100,000 Mishcief points. From this, it could be understood how much of an edge he had possessing a heavenly constitution compared to the other people.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that those who had this kind of constitution, were not only destined to be extraordinary geniuses, but they were also several times more powerful than those of their level.
The so called chosen sons and daughters of heaven. If the little girl really had a heavenly constitution, then she wasn’t someone he could just ignore.
Plus there was also the words about her soul cultivation surpassing his own. This was the first time that Yang Chen encountered a genius who was not only younger than him, but was also as talented as him.
Of course, she didn’t have an unparalleled treasure like the Greedvil system with her; however, even without that, there was no doubt that she was natural born genius. This also explains her haughty and superior attitude.
"Young friend Yang Chen, so you were here. I was looking for you all around the lobby"
While Yang Chen was thinking so in his head, from the corner he heard the voice of Elder Du. The administrator who monitored his exam, was not alone. Beside him, were two other people that he hadn’t seen before.
"Hohoho, so you are the unbelievable genius that Du Hai told me about. Hmm, it seems that his eyes weren’t mistaken"
The old man walking in the middle spoke. He had a hunched back with multiple pockets filled with various stuff that jingled whenever he moved and had a long unkempt beard with what seemed like tiny cauldrons tied at the ends like clips.
He also carried a long wooden staff as a support with him.
"Young friend Yang Chen, this senior is the Branch Manager of the Yan City Alchemist Association, Yao Dian" Elder Du introduced.
Yang Chen hurriedly cupped his hands and greeted "This junior greets Elder Yao"...
"Haha, at ease young man. It looks like your character is also good. I heard everything you did back inside the hall. To be able to refine a pill of such grade at your age, your future is immeasurable. If it’s you I fully agree with Du Hai"
Yao Dian praised patting Yang Chen’s shoulder. Suddenly as if sensing something, he arched his brows and couldn’t help but ask.
"Hmm? What is this? I am sensing the pulse of battle energy from your body. Don’t tell me you are..."
"Yes Elder, I also cultivate battle energy"...
"So you are a battle practitioner who also cultivates Soul energy huh" It might be just his imagination but for a second there, he saw a little dissapointement on the branch manager’s face.
"Young man, I hope that I am not being nosy, nor is it my intention to interfere in your master’s teachings. However, given how talented you are in alchemy, don’t you think you should focus all your efforts on one discipline rather than spreading your efforts and doing two things at once".
With Elder Yao’s words, Yang Chen finally realised the reason why he looked disappointed. It was because he thought that it was a waste of his talent to try and chase after two different things at once.
Alchemists and battle practitioners were two different groups of people who sought after two different aims. One wanted to reach the peak of alchemy by uncovering the secrets of the world while the latter sought to climb higher in the martial power.
The two were entirely different fields and needed different talents and skills. That is why, when Yao Dian heard that Yang Chen was also pursuing the peak of martial power like those battle crazed people, he felt like the latter was wasting his talent.
Yang Chen understood the branch manager’s thought process; however, his concern was none of his business. He had the aid of the system and enough confidence in himself to achieve the objective he set for himself.
Contrary to what the elder thought he was not wasting his talent. However, he couldn’t tell that to the other party since he needed their help to get his tier alchemist certification. As such, he could only go about it in a reasonable manner and tell the other party to mind their own business.
"I thank Edler for his concern. However, I know what I am doing. If I wasn’t confident enough to achieve it, I wouldn’t have started it".
With Yang Chen saying all that, Yao Dian had nothing else to say to add. He could only shake his head and think of it as youth’s folly. He was also a young man, obstinate and filled with vigour once.
"I see in that case, I can only wish the young man good luck. In any case, this is not the place to talk. How about we go to a different hall to chat and conduct your tier 3 exam?"
Yang Chen nodded.
"Hm? Mei’er so you were here?" While he and the branch manager were conversing, from the corner of his eyes he saw the other person who was with Elder Du and Yao Dian, walk up to the little girl.
"Master!! Are you finally done with the objective you came here for?" Mei’er asked giggling and acting all polite.
Seeing her like that, Yang Chen was forced to wonder if she was the same bratty little girl who approached him a while ago.
"What are you doing here with that young man?" her master questioned.
"Ah!! About that, hear me master. I was there when this person was refining and I saw the technique that he used. It was the same as senior brother.."
Mei’er started talking with eyes filled with excitement. However, before she could complete her sentence, her master interrupted her.
"Mei’ er, an alchemist’s techniques are like their life and soul. It is a highly guarded secret and shouldnlt be revealed like that" her master chided.
