"Good, now concertrate on it. Try to feel this energy as closely as possible. It would be outright impossible to manifest it outside for you right now, but try to at least make a connection with it..."

"I did it" While Amon was in the middle of his explanation, he was suddenly interjected by the happy sounding Yang Chen who manifested the soul energy on his first try.

A colourless, formless energy formed around his closed palm as it pulsed and distorted the space around it.

"What? How can that be?" Amon who didn’t expect Yang Chen to succeed in his first try, was stunned for a good while. The latter had not only exceeded his expectations he even went a step ahead by making a connection with the soul energy and manifesting it out.

’Could it be that he has an uncanny talent for cultivating soul energy?’ Amon wondered before continuing with his directions.

"That’s... Ahem, very good. The energy that you made contact with, is called the soul energy. It is fundamentally different and another system of energy than the battle energy that you are used to. I will explain about the soul energy another time, for now, try to insert that soul energy that you just manifested into this tablet".

Yang Chen did as he was asked, extended his hands and inserted the soul energy he just manifested.

BUZZ... Just as he touched the stone tablet with the soul energy, it started buzzing as if alive. Powerful energy undulations erupted from it and shot up.

The energy suspended itself mid air and soon after, formed many complex and mysterious patterns.

"This is?" Yang Chen was all clueless as to what was going on and could only pose the question to Amon who asked him to do all this.

"As I thought so, I don’t know who kept this Ancient Soul Stone, but they were trying to hide this. Really, to think that you would find something like this here?" Amon spoke, his eyes glued to the floating patterns and characters.

"What is it? Is it a treasure?!" Seeing that Amon was making such a big deal of it, Yang Chen couldn’t help but wonder if it was a treasure as he asked excitedly.

"It is more than just a treasure. It is a clue to a piece of the Gargantuan Meteor. Seeing that the person went as far as to store it inside the Ancient Soul stone, I would say that the piece should at least be of a moderate size" Amon explained unable to hide his own excitement.

"Gargantuan Meteor? Where did I..." Yang Chen who didn’t expect a familiar name to pop up, suddenly thought about the mysterious stone he got from Lin Mang.

However, before he could tell that to the demon, the latter interjected "This is not the time to fall in daze. Manifest your soul energy again and quickly try to make a connection with those floating markings"...

"Alright" On Amon’s urging, Yang Chen stopped contemplating and quickly extended his soul energy towards the mysterious patterns and characters floating in the air.

The instant his soul energy touched those symbols, his consciousness was pulled inside and his eyes flashed open. The next thing he knew, he was standing in front of a vast desolate plain that Stretched for as far as the eye could see.

It was a landscape steeped in melancholy and faded grandeur. The atmosphere here was heavy with a sense of abandonment and loss as if the very essence of vitality has been drained from the surroundings.

The plains once teemed with life and vigor; however, now it was just a remnant of a bygone era.

As Yang Chen observed the place he found himself in, he was able to spot a colossal ruin at the heart of the territory.

Once a grand and powerful edifice that stood tall in its time, now lay in shattered fragments. Its weathered stones bore the scars of a fierce and cataclysmic battle, like a sign of a struggle long past.

Broken pillars reach towards the heavens, their jagged edges serving as haunting reminders of the destructive forces that tore through this once-majestic structure.

What happened here? What kind of battle can cause this much damage? Many questions popped inside his head and Yang Chen found himself being immersed in it. There was a weird charm to this land that drew him towards it, as if this land held some secret that was beckoning him.

BUZZ... Suddenly, his vision changed and he found himself in a dark space. The light here was sparce and the only thing visible was the long narrow road that led to the centre of this dark space.

As Yang Chen stared on, he saw at the end of the road, stood a grand dias upon which sat a huge stone the size of which couldn’t be described with words.

What was that? Just as his mind became more engrossed in the stone, suddenly everything became tumultuous and Yang Chen found his consciousness returning back to his body.

"That... what was that?!"... What did he just see?

"That was a revelation, the place that you just saw is where the actual treasure is" Amon explained dispersing his confusion.

"I see" Yang Chen nodded his head. So that’s what Amon meant by clue, this Ancient soul stone carried the key to that treasure. However, was that it? Other than the clue to the real treasure, does he get nothing else?

"What do you mean? Other than the revelation you also received the most crucial key to get that treasure. Those mysterious patterns and characters, they have been marked in your soul and you will need them when you find the treasure you saw in the future" Amon clarified reading his mind.

"So that was the case".

DONG... At this moment, there was a sudden noise of a bell resounding through the floors of the tower marking the end of the test. This meant that the day had come to an end and the participants needed to stop their cultivation and exit out of the tower.

Those that made it to the fourth floor, proudly strutted out of the tower with their heads held high and those who couldn’t make it, could only sigh and hang their heads down in dejection.

Of course for some, they could try again after another three years. However, for those whose age limit had hit the criteria, this was their last chance. They cannot participate again.
