There was one more person inside the carriage, a girl who seemed to be around his age. She was quietly sitting on her seat and glancing out of her window, minding her own business.

’So she is the young miss of the Lin clan that I need to protect’ Yang Chen thought. As he observed the girl he noticed something about her felt familiar but what was it?

"Hey do you have nothing else to do other than stare at me?" As if feeling his gaze, the girl turned around and spoke in disgust. Her eyes that landed on him, immediately widened and a flash of confusion flashed in them.

"Have I seen you before?" the girl asked the same question he had been thinking.

After pondering in his head for a while, he finally recalled where he had seen the girl. It was inside the bathhouse of the golden bed inn. He was indulging himself in the hot bath when this girl walked in on him.

It was no wonder he was unable to recognise her after all, the first time that he had seen her, he had seen her with no clothes.

Recalling that scene, that beautiful figure, droplets of water trickling down her body. Her long black hair sticking to her skin and the scene of spring. Yang Chen couldn’t help but inadvertently move his gaze down at her body.

Noticing his perverted gaze and that handsome face that one cannot just forget easily, Lin Huiyin too finally recalled where she had seen that face. Immediately her face reddened and her eyes flared in anger.

"It was you!!" she pointed at Yang Chen and instinctively covered her body.

She was wearing her clothes, so was there any need for such actions? Yang Chen thought internally. That being said, who would have expected that the Young Miss of the Lin clan that he had to protect, would turn out to be the girl that he had seen naked accidentally in the bath?

"You!! How dare you show your face in front of me again?" Lin Huiyin seethed in anger. She was just about to slap him when Yang Chen caught her hand.

"Hey listen now, it was an accident. It was not my fault, I was inside the bathhouse first. If anything, I’m the victim here. You are the one who walked in on me" Yang Chen explained. However, it didn’t seem like the girl was ready to hear anything.

"Let go of my hand you brute" Lin Huiyin shouted, battle energy condensed on her palm and faint golden energy started emanating from it.

Noticing the battle skill being used, Yang Chen extended his other hand, grabbed her shoulder and turned her around. In this position, her hand was restrained by him and the battle energy that she just condensed, quickly dispersed.

"Kuh!! Let go of me" She cried out.

Knowing that he couldn’t go any further, Yang Chen released the girl "Alright but don’t come attacking me again".

Once again, it seemed that his words fell on deaf ears, the girl didn’t have any intentions to stop. After her last attack failed she was about to grab her sword and attack again when

"What’s going on? Do you two know each other?"

Lin Mang’s words rang out followed by his figure entering the carriage. Seeing the two bickering in a loud voice, he couldn’t help but ask.

"Elder Lin Mang, what is this person doing here? Kick him out this instant" Lin Huiyin immediately turned to the elder of her clan to gain his support.

"This... it seems that young miss has some misunderstanding, let me introduce him. He is the young friend Yang Yan, the other participant from our side that we have been waiting for. He will be quite helpful during the test" Lin Mang introduced.

"I don’t care about all that, just kick him out Elder" Lin Huiyin was incessant as she stared dagger at Yang Chen.

"This... May I know why young miss wants me to kick him out?" Lin Mang smiled bitterly and inquired. Kick Yang Yan? How could he do that?

Not to mention the other party’s power that was probably higherthan even his own, he had already paid a huge sum for this deal. If he kicked him out before they could even complete their task, wouldn’t he suffer a loss?

Being a merchant how could Lin Mang be willing to suffer a loss?

Seeing Lin Mang defend the person, Lin Huyin could only begrudgingly sit back on her seat. Now that the elder had brought the words of her father in between, she couldn’t say anything else.

With all of them taking their seats, the carriage started to move and raced across the cobblestone covered road.

Inside the carriage of the Lin clan, there were two seats facing one another. The seats were comfortable and big enough to easily fit four people side by side. As such, there was no problem with the seating.

Yang Chen sat with Lin Mang while Huiyin and Lin Dan sat on the opposite seat. The ride should have been comfortable, but thanks to the faint bloodlust being released by a certain someone, the atmosphere inside the carriage was quite uncomfortable.

Lin Mang tried to ease the situation by initiating some random topic for conversation. However, it didn’t look like any of them had any intention of joining in. As such, the journey continued in silence without the passengers speaking anything as if they had taken a vow of silence.

None of the passengers had any issue minding their own business except for Lin Mang who was feeling a little jittery.
