Chapter 1797: Chapter 1894: Law Enforcement Hall

Within the solemn and imposing Law Enforcement Hall, Yan Xizheng, wearing a loose white robe, sat in the main seat, but his expression showed a few signs of helplessness and fatigue.

There was no choice; the Law Enforcement Hall was involved in a situation, and it was a rather complicated matter. Both sides involved were prominent figures, so Yan Xizheng, as the Hall Master, couldn’t just avoid facing the matter.

Inside the hall, Ouyang Han crossed her arms in front of her, accentuating her impressive chest, while Fang Lin stood properly behind her, looking quite solemn.

On the other side stood a middle-aged man with a serene face. His appearance was truly extraordinary, and even though he was no longer young, he could still attract the attention of countless young women.

This strikingly handsome middle-aged man was none other than Shen Suifeng, the Hall Master of Azure Dragon Hall. Not only was he charming, but his name was equally elegant.

Behind Shen Suifeng stood Cheng Qingyu, who appeared calm and composed, seemingly unaware of her involvement in the situation and unaffected by the imposing environment of the Law Enforcement Hall.

Two stewards of the Law Enforcement Hall stood to the side, their faces displaying helplessness and bitterness. What was originally just an investigation into a disciple’s origin had escalated, leading both Shen Suifeng and Ouyang Han to personally bring people to the Law Enforcement Hall to clear things up in front of Yan Xizheng.

Although the responsibility of the Law Enforcement Hall is to investigate all matters thoroughly, punish the guilty, and exonerate the innocent, the current situation clearly seemed to have escalated to a dispute between two Hall Masters.

In fact, many seasoned individuals at the Pill Saint Palace understood that there wasn’t much of a real grievance between Shen Suifeng and Ouyang Han. They even had an emotional connection earlier in their lives, but it didn’t materialize into anything substantial.

Since they parted ways, they continued to clash, such as when a disciple from Azure Dragon Hall mocked a disciple from White Phoenix Hall, leading Ouyang Han to demand an explanation from Shen Suifeng.

Often, it was Ouyang Han causing trouble for Shen Suifeng. Initially, Shen Suifeng tolerated it significantly, but eventually grew tired and responded to Ouyang Han. f r\eew,eb novel.c(o)(m)

This time, the situation was similar: Ouyang Han brought Fang Lin to demand an explanation, while Shen Suifeng sought to protect Cheng Qingyu.

"Both of you, the matter has actually been investigated clearly. There’s no need to dwell on it further, is there?" Yan Xizheng proactively spoke, attempting to mediate.

Shen Suifeng smiled, "The Hall Master Yan is absolutely right. Since the matter has been clarified, it’s merely a misunderstanding, I also don’t wish for it to become more complicated."

Ouyang Han snorted softly, casting a sideways glance at Shen Suifeng, "This matter hasn’t been completely clarified. Perhaps you should explain why Cheng Qingyu falsely accused Lin Erdan?"

Shen Suifeng responded calmly, "Lin Erdan’s origins were unclear, and Cheng Qingyu was always suspicious, which isn’t surprising."

"Oh? Then I should ask you, you said Lin Erdan’s origins were unclear. Now that Lin Erdan’s origins have been clarified, he’s a disciple that Yan Zixu accepted externally. But what about Cheng Qingyu? Have her origins been clarified?" said Ouyang Han, directly targeting Cheng Qingyu’s origin issue.

Similar to Fang Lin’s situation, Cheng Qingyu was not from this era; she only emerged as Jade Qincheng in the future, so her origins were rather vague, making it easy for others to hold against her.

Shen Suifeng slightly furrowed his brow and said, "There’s nothing unclear about Cheng Qingyu’s origins. She lost her parents at a young age and has been cultivating independently to this day. That’s all there is to it."

Ouyang Han sneered, "Parents deceased? Cultivating independently to this day? What a convenient explanation, one that any person with unclear origins might use."

"Ouyang Han, you’re being unreasonable," said Shen Suifeng.

Ouyang Han’s lips curled slightly, "Are only Azure Dragon Hall’s disciples allowed to falsely accuse others, and I can’t question it?"

"Alright, alright, both of you, please calm down for now." Yan Xizheng quickly intervened, seeing the two seemed ready to start arguing.

Ouyang Han and Shen Suifeng exchanged glances, then turned their heads away from each other.

Behind them, Fang Lin glanced sideways at Cheng Qingyu, who seemed to sense something, also looking at Fang Lin with a faint smile on her face.

"Smile? You smile now, but let’s see if you can still smile later!" Fang Lin thought in his heart. Since Cheng Qingyu made the first move, Fang Lin naturally had to respond.

Yan Xizheng pinched his brow and immediately said, "Both Lin Erdan and Cheng Qingyu’s identities have no issues, but since Cheng Qingyu falsely accused Lin Erdan, she shall be confined for a month as punishment. Would that satisfy both of you?"

Anyone could see that Yan Xizheng, the old man, was trying to muddle through and settle this matter quickly to prevent further issues.

Shen Suifeng was naturally agreeable to this, as he didn’t wish to confront Ouyang Han, so he promptly agreed, "I concur."

Ouyang Han furrowed her eyebrows slightly, feeling somewhat displeased, but the situation had reached this point, and further entanglement wouldn’t yield any results, so she reluctantly agreed.

Yan Xizheng was already keen for the matter to end like this, so he immediately stood up happily and said, "I’m busy with other affairs, I won’t see you off."

Busy my foot!

Both Ouyang Han and Shen Suifeng cursed inwardly, and then each left the Law Enforcement Hall with Lin Erdan and Cheng Qingyu.

After they departed, Yan Xizheng sat in his chair, feeling quite comfortable but soon became troubled again. Both of them often came to the Law Enforcement Hall to stir up trouble, and he couldn’t avoid showing up, which was truly bothersome.

Outside the Law Enforcement Hall, Shen Suifeng had no further talk with Ouyang Han and directly led Cheng Qingyu back to Azure Dragon Hall.

Fang Lin watched the figure of Cheng Qingyu leave, his gaze cold and filled with murderous intent.

"Keeping her will surely be a future threat, and she must be removed without delay," thought Fang Lin.

However, Fang Lin was somewhat worried—if Cheng Qingyu were pressured into a desperate situation, would she take drastic actions and reveal both their true identities?

If that happened, even if Fang Lin managed to eliminate her, he would become entangled in turmoil. After all, coming from the future sounds too mystifying; who would believe it?

On the other hand, Fang Lin was considering whether he should reveal his secret of coming from the future to someone.

After all, Fang Lin’s strength alone was insufficient. If someone could help, many matters might be resolved smoothly.

Fang Lin already had a preliminary idea and might approach the Old Palace Master or the Great Elder to inform them of his true identity.
