Chapter 41: Abode Of The Three Seers II
The room was cold, pricking into her skin like ice daggers in a somber darkness as the wind carried with it songs of eeriness.
The darkness was so thick, it stole her form and she could barely make out whatever occupied the room and rather only the silhouettes of the equipment as they waited for the sunlight to spread its light on them.
Her eyes narrowed to the three figures clad in black robes with the hoods over their head, concealing their faces from sight. They were seated on the floor, but the main reason her lower mouth was hanging on the floor was the enormous snake that caught her sight, coiled around them in their position.
She stood behind Draco as they occupied the dark room that felt so desolate and alien to light. It felt as though a flicker of light had never resided in the room.
"You cannot resist the flame, so dance with it. But fear not, not a flame will touch you." The murky female voice thundered from the direction of the figures who were unmoving in their position. It retained an essence that was undeniably sensed as it floated strongly with the wind and oddly, Rama felt as though it was directed at her.
"Your rage and despair fuel your strength, but it strengthens the darkness." Another murky voice drawled as it echoed in the four corners of the room, making goosebumps materialize on her skin.
Every word held an underlying significance to it that seemed to get under her skin like ice as it surged with an inexplicable energy that left her in awe.
"Faith in a strange twist of fate is what makes prophecies come true and an unforeseen future." The third figure spoke and it was apparent that they were the seers he came to see.
The snake slowly uncoiled itself from around them with a slithering hiss as it crawled away to a corner and coiled itself in the position, blending with the darkness which concealed its features from sight.
The three seers arose from their position with precisely exact movements. They moved toward them with slow calculated steps and halted a few meters away from them.
"King Draco, what brings you to our abode?" The seer on the left side spoke as they pulled the hood away from their head to reveal their faces, but still the darkness swallowed their features and she could only strain her eyes to discern their features.
They seemed to have either white or silver hair and their obsidian eyes glowed with a golden sclera even in the thick darkness, exuding ethereality that captivated one’s soul like a magnetic force sucking her into the deep abysm created in their eyes.
"We have a situation and Zamiel has no idea what it is, so you might." Draco said in nonchalance as he dropped his gaze lazily on them, not in the least fazed by their bewitching eyes.
"Soul so ancient, spoken words aren’t the only way we interact on this earth." The seer on the right side uttered with a gentle voice floating with the wind.
"If you always found the solution to all your hardships, then there would be no future to foresee and no fate to envision." The seer in the middle spoke and a loud irritated scoff erupted from Draco’s lips.
"It’s apparent I hold no anticipation for the future and don’t really care about fate, so go straight to the point and tell me who, why, where, and what is transpiring?" Draco demanded with impatience rapidly wearing thin in his tone and Rama wondered what on earth was going on that irked Draco.
Heavy silence ensued in the room of gloaming darkness, that made the air eerier with every passing second.
As a result of the lack of light or even a whiff of light grazing the floors of the room, Rama was startled by the sudden slight prick beneath her chin by a sharp object and the next, a smacking of lip could be heard.
"The descendant of a valid royal and a pure blooded dragon master, now degraded to a maid." The sudden voice reverberating in the room as it whisked into her ears made her jerk as she came out of her trance like state.
"Her blood tastes..." The seer’s words cracked as their obsidian eyes dilated and sparked like lightning struck in it. The seers were vampires, but she wondered why they harnessed a dissimilar color of eyes, which made her wonder if it was because they were seers.
"We want her. Give us the dragon master and we’ll give you whatever information you desire." The seer said grasping her arm tightly, but Draco swiftly shoved her hand away as he pulled Rama next to him, whispering faintly in her ears with his lips brushing her skin.
"This one is mine and I don’t share." Draco stated firmly, his voice resounding in her ears, making her skin tingle. As if the seers gave up, they didn’t say anymore and silence ensued for a short moment. Rama’s pounding heart suddenly calmed down, knowing she wasn’t going to be sold to the crazy seers in return for information.
She pondered on the seer’s words. Their kingdom had no valid story on how the royals, chosen by the black dragon could control the beast, and from the seer’s words, she realized they were dragon masters which left her in deep thoughts on how they attained the role of dragon masters.
"Your fate as a queen has been sealed by the cosmos, imprinted on every star in the sky, engraved on every pebble in the ocean and you shall elevate to attain your throne, beside your king." Their voices clashed in her head at a rapid pace as she tried to process their words.
Her brows creased in disbelief. The seer stated that her fate as a queen was sealed and she would attain her throne, but it was all gone to nothing but debris and ash, so how on earth would she attain a lost throne where her Empire was destroyed and her people were undoubtedly slain?
Her brows creased harder when she pressed her thoughts on the seer’s words claiming she would attain her throne beside her king, but what king?
She wondered if the seer’s words meant she would be a queen in a foreign kingdom, but she was taken captive by the night creatures, and escaping appeared like a visibly inconceivable plan to even imagine. The seer’s utterances left her in a state of deterioration and the urge to gain more knowledge of the riddled words they spewed overshadowed her rational mind.
The thought that they could be hope for her to crawl out of her appalling dilemma made her veins ignite with an electrifying spark and she felt her cells rejuvenate back to life. She could feel sweat dripping from her forehead as she stared into their obsidian eyes even when it was cold.
She slightly trembled as an exhilarating sensation coursed through her veins and she opened her mouth to speak, but a sound barely escaped her lips when she was abruptly interrupted by Draco.
"I didn’t come here for her. Her future’s useless and her fate’s sealed as my maid." Draco said with a dark drawl and she visualized the sly smirk on his face as if he had the whole world in the palm of his hands.
"The humans and witches are initiating an alliance to eliminate you and erase your kind from the face of the earth." The seer said in a clipped tone and she saw their obsidian eyes glimmer like a thousand stars and their golden sclera burning fiercer than the sun.
Rama smiled inwardly, knowing they could fathom her smile even in the darkness as they were vampires.
The thought of the humans and the witches wiping the vampire race could pave the path to her acquiring her throne as the queen, beside the unknown king in presumably a human kingdom.
"Elaborate. What’s their plan?" Draco queried with a nonchalant tone and she visualized the bored expression on his face, which made a subtle frown settle on her face.
He seemed to address the situation in such a trivial manner and handled it lightly. If he took it trivially, then he wouldn’t be prepared for whatever the humans and the witches were scheming against him until it hit like a detonation.
"Their plan is to get rid of you, but how can they do that? You’re an immortal being, a dark entity in the form of a man birthed by an immortal that rules...." The seer’s words broke in a disrupted manner as Draco’s hand flew to her neck in a beat, squeezing it firmly and melancholy suddenly wore over the room like a cloak, emanating from Draco as his red eyes glowed in the dark with malignance.
"That’s enough talking now." Draco growled in a low tune and the ground beneath them suddenly rumbled with an earth shaking effect as the snake crawled toward Draco with a loud slithering hiss that made Rama panic as she moved her feet backward, aware it was about to attack Draco.
Rama could barely discern what transpired at that moment as she heard a soft thud and then in the next beat, streaks of liquid sprayed in the air with a few drops falling on her cheeks.
Her fingers felt the warm drops of liquid on her cheeks and she suddenly realized it was blood.
"No!!!!" The shrill high pitched screams erupting from the three seers made her eardrum bleed, upon feeling deteriorated on what was occurring in the darkness, as they screamed like banshees with a wail that retained dismay and contempt, as they shot repulsive glares with glowing obsidian eyes in rage toward Draco, but they didn’t dare move a limb, aware of the powerful being he was.
The light didn’t hurt the night creatures in any way, so she wondered why they were hiding in the darkness.
"So now, where were we?" Draco’s dark voice reverberated in the room as he drawled beneath his breath.
