Chapter 50: 50: First Task

Sue

As I walked to the kitchen to get the drinks, I kept praying to not run into the princes’ betrothed because they’d certainly laugh their dumb heads off should they see me in this situation, especially considering how much I spoke down on them.

I was already changed into a maid attire, and I hate the attire so much. How the fuck did I really get reduced to a maid? I’ve never looked down on maids before, after all back home, the maids that tended to me were more willing to communicate with me than my own family most of the time.

But I was human after all and I have emotions, and this feels very much like a grace to grass moment. And the fact that I now have to serve the princes was even more humiliating. I hated them with everything within me and I couldn’t believe that I once admitted to myself that they were hot and that I might not mind messing around with them in bed.

As I arrived at the kitchen, most of the maids laughed while walking past me and I let out a long sigh, already knowing that this job was gonna test my patience so damn much.

As i picked up the drinks, a scowl settled across my face as I briefly wished I had poison on me right now. I’d have put poison in here without hesitation.

After leaving the kitchen, I went up the stairs to where the princes were supposedly waiting for their drinks. I took my sweet time just standing by the door, because the thought of actually walking in there with the drinks was so humiliating, I almost wished for death instead.

When I knocked on the door, there was no response. I had to force myself to calm the fuck down and I also reminded myself that presently, they hate me and wouldn’t let me get away with a lot of things like they did before. Which was why I didn’t whirl around to return back to the kitchen. Instead, I knocked again and again.

On the fourth knock, I listened closely and that’s when I heard the sound of faint music coming from within the room.

Oh. So they’re listening to music which is why they didn’t hear me.

My bad.

I balanced the tray on one hand and carefully pushed open the door, and at once, the sound of the previously muted music filled up my eardrums, but that wasn’t what made me stop in my tracks.

What made me stumble to a stop so fast was the fact that the princes weren’t alone.

A woman was here as well, and she wasn’t just sitting at a respectable distance from them like a normal person with brains. Instead, she was pole dancing for them, a few feet away from them.

I didn’t know they had a poll in here?? Unless it got installed because of her?

I swallowed emptily just as a stab of hurt went through my chest.

That instantly made me mad because why the fuck was i feeling this way? It’s clear they don’t care about me and I also hate them anyway... so, why do I feel this ache in my chest right now?

That’s the moment the triplets noticed me, and embarrassment burned through me hotly.

"I- I think I’ll come back since you’re so busy," I muttered just as I whirled around, prepared to bolt.

"Nonsense, I’m parched, bring that over right now."

That was Damon and his voice grated on my nerves so damn much. I let out a shaky exhale, then I reminded myself to get it together as I turned back around and slowly stepped into the room.

My eyes briefly darted to the women still pole dancing. She was honestly so hot, and also everything I wasn’t.

As I walked past her to Damon, I told myself that at least she was only performing for them so it didn’t matter.

As I reached Damon and handed him a drink, I refused to meet his gaze, feeling so ashamed that it felt like I might pass out. When he still didn’t accept the drink, I was forced to stare down at him.

"You should have a sip first." He said, eying the drink pointedly and I frowned.

"Um, why?" I asked while wondering if he was indirectly offering to share his drink with me.

"To be sure it’s not poisoned." He responded and I blanched before glaring at him.

"What? This means if it’s poisoned I’d die!" I yelled and he snorted.

"Well, obviously, but that’s a maid’s job so do it. And who knows? You might have also poisoned it in order to get back at us for making you our personal slave." He informed me as he folded his arms.

I felt a scoff left my throat as disbelief settled within me. I mean, I did wish I had poison so I could poison them, but I didn’t do that yet, so this accusation felt insulting as hell.

Instead of starting to argue with him, I wordlessly picked it up and took a sip.

He looked surprised when I handed it to him. I waited for him to make a smart ass comment but it never came. But he did shock me immensely by his next words.

"Iyla, come give me a lap dance,"

My mouth opened and closed and I wished that I had heard wrong, but to my bewilderment, the girl who had previously been pole dancing in only a pair of daring bikini, sauntered forward and straddled Damon while giggling.

It felt like I was frozen in place as I watched her start to grind over Damon, fitting perfectly over his laps like it was where she belonged.

"Bring my drink over, Sue." Angelo called out, pulling me back to the present.

No longer ’kitten’, just Sue. I even hated that horrible nickname, but weirdly, him calling me Sue didn’t sound right anymore.
