Chapter 1300: Walk With God
Chapter 1300: Walk With God
Workshop of Truth.
Clank.
The Ultimate continued to turn. The gears of infinity rotated.
Standing below the Ultimate, Nana watched the giant of nebulae dissipate after its unceremonious death with a bored look on her face. Soon, all would be cold and deathly like the cosmos.
Then the whistle pierced through the stillness all of a sudden, freezing the last remnant of the giant’s vitality.
A tiny, insignificant golden light appeared in the giant’s heart. It was the still-spinning Ring of Miracle, one reignited with Gao Yang’s soul as fuel. The ring expanded, transforming into a gear that could not be understood or described. It was so different from the Ultimate, yet so similar at the same time.
Clank.
The Ring of Miracle began to rotate in the reverse direction—relative to the Ultimate.
Voices that were incomprehensible and absurd to Nana rang in the workshop.
“Brother, the sun’s up. Get out of bed already!”
“Yang Yang, why didn’t you sleep in a little on the holidays? The breakfast is kept warm in the steamer.”
“Oh, morning, Son!”
“Haha, look who’s up. It’s my dear grandson.”
“Bro, wake up. Wake up now, do you hear me?!”
“Get up! You trash! Don’t die!”
“Stop sleeping, Gao Yang. The air fish is coming.”
“Little Gao, this is as far as I can walk with you.”
“Stop sleeping, Brother Yang. Everyone’s depending on you.”
“You’re finally waking up, Little Yang Yang.”
“Edler Seven Shadow, thank God you’re awake.”
“Captain, stop sleeping. Wake up!”
“Fight, Boss!”
“Go, Gao Yang.”
...
Nana frowned. She looked up, her eyes widening by a fraction as they reflected the giant of nebulae.
The giant opened their eyes. A familiar system notification sounded.
[Warning, you’re walking with God.]
[Luck points acquisition rate is now ∞.]
The Ring of Miracle continued to turn.
The giant clenched their fists and pushed their heavy, strong chest off the ground.
Clank.
Then they got to their knees, arching their back against the pressure.
Clank.
They raised their head slowly.
The giant growled, the impossibly powerful voice pierced through all will, rules, and truths, shaking the very universe.
Spreading their arms, they grabbed the walls of the Workshop of Truth with powerful hands, yanking and tearing two patches of blackness into it like bleeding gashes. The gears filling the space trembled and faltered, like fruit on a tree being cut down.
The giant howled once more, turning into a fierce, wild beast driven by rage, tearing, ramming, and biting the cage consisting of countless gears of truth. More and more black wounds emerged in the universe. The essence of the Workshop of Truth was under unprecedented attack.
Soon, the gears fell from their places and turned into a rain with their chaotic descent. Amid the downpour, the giant of nebulae charged at the close yet unreachable Ultimate once more.
Clank.
The Ultimate continued to turn.
The giant widened their stride and quickened their pace. They started running.
As the giant approached the Ultimate, their body shrank at an incredible speed, preventing them from getting any closer to the Ultimate.
“How many times do I have to say this, Gao Yang?” Nana said. “Doesn’t matter how you try. It won’t work.”
The giant did not stop. They ran faster. They decreased in size, yet the beautiful, ethereal colors were solidifying and becoming more real. The giant hadn’t disappeared. The body had merely been condensing toward the Ring of Miracle.
Had it been an eternity, or a moment? The giant had morphed back into a regular human—Gao Yang, but as a figure of pure blackness with no texture. Lodged in the figure’s chest was the spinning Ring of Miracle. It was a beating human heart.
Gao Yang made a powerful leap toward the towering Ultimate.
That tore and crushed his body, sweeping him into an indescribable chaos and madness that followed an internal logic. He was challenging the Ultimate, so he was subject to rejection, disintegration, denial, and erasure; however, he was walking with God, so he was able to endure it all with infinite luck.
He was in the dual state of an absolute existence and an absolute nonexistence.
In an eternal moment, he managed to touch the Ultimate and yank it downward.
An infinite, absolute energy of truth poured out of the Ultimate. The workshop crumbled into pieces, and the universe was gone. They were now in limbo.
“Aghhhh!”
Gao Yang dragged the Ultimate to the ground and slammed his fist against it. Every punch resulted in a great counterforce that scattered the arm and his entire body, yet the spinning Ring of Miracle always gathered the black figure once more.
The space itself flickered at high frequency. It seemed to have entered the same dual state of existence and nonexistence.
“Gao Yang...stop!” Nana shouted.
He did not stop.
Like a madman in a maniac episode, he poured the greatest hostility and the rawest violence he could muster upon the Ultimate. As he continued the barrage, the energy of truth continued to burst out. The universe stopped flickering quickly. Instead, it became an absolute silence of grey noise.
The Ultimate continued to rotate, and it escaped from Gao Yang’s fist.
He lunged at it like a cat catching a ball it had kicked away. Grasping the Ultimate, he wrapped his body around it to prevent another escape. The bursting truth energy continued to destroy him and reject him, yet it could not kill him completely or escape him.
He had become a thug clinging to the world and a dark spirit haunting the universe. He grappled the Ultimate and would never part from it.
Still not enough!
The Ultimate is still rotating!
Why is it still rotating?!
“Ahhhh!!!”
Finally, Gao Yang’s arms, which had been distorted beyond measure, tore an impossible gap into the Ultimate. Energy that would destroy everything crashed into him, tearing him apart. He took it head-on, opening a maw that was barely a mouth and biting the gap.
That was the moment.
Finally, the black mad dog caught the white bone it craved.
