Chapter 88: Chapter 86: You Are Mine

Su Mo froze, then her hand stretched out of the sleeping bag to hug the man’s muscular waist and whispered softly, "No more, then we are officially in a relationship now, you can’t run away."

She looked up at him, her beautiful phoenix eyes brimming with tenderness, the man’s usually stern facial features softened, and his silver hair brushed against her face.

"Mm."

He gently kissed her forehead, solemn and reverent.

Su Mo’s heart raced wildly; she closed her eyes and a brilliant smile spread across her lips.

In this apocalypse, it seemed she had found love as well as like-minded companions, something she had never felt in the twenty years before.

This feeling was truly marvelous.

All night, Su Mo lay in his arms, clinging to his waist and refusing to let go, softly talking about the time when he advanced in rank.

"Do you remember Zhuang Mei, the pregnant woman?"

"Mm."

Su Mo sighed, "I wanted to save her, but it was too late."

That innocent little life never even had the chance to choose.

"It’s not your fault," he said softly.

"We can’t have children in the future," Su Mo added.

Lu Chen’s eyes turned strange; he propped himself on one elbow and leaned over her: "You’re thinking that far ahead?"

Su Mo’s face turned red instantly, she coughed lightly and said seriously, "No, I mean in the future..."

Before she could finish, her words were sealed with a cool, thin kiss.

When she got up in the morning, Su Mo’s lips were swollen, having never known that a kiss could last through half the night.

As she crawled out from behind the shelf, she was met with a barrage of strange glances from all around.

"Sister, what kind of mosquito bit your lips to make them swell up like that?" Jianxiong asked curiously.

Lu Chen, following behind her, darkened in the face and shot Jianxiong a cold glance, "Do you talk too much?"

Facing the immediate pressure, Jianxiong clamped his mouth shut and obediently went out to start the car.

Li Qian and Zhao Changsheng were well aware, her foxy face looking as though the sky had fallen, while Su Niang, having been through it all before, seemed quite amused.

Su Mo touched her lips and pinched his arm: "It’s all your fault."

"Mm, blame me," he said, leading her onto the car.

Now with six people, one dilapidated military vehicle was indeed a bit crowded, Zhao Changsheng sat directly on the sunroof; they needed to find another vehicle.

Li Qian was looking at the map in the passenger seat, guiding Jianxiong’s driving: "There’s a garage about 30 kilometers from here, we could check it out."

They had taken a back road out of the prison to this gas station, avoiding the city center because of the excessive number of zombies, and they were planning to circle around the city to get back on the highway.

At the time of the meteorite impact, most people were at home. There weren’t that many abandoned cars on the road, save for the occasional few Jianxiong moved out of the way—all was going smoothly.

By the time they reached the garage, it would probably be noon, with Su Mo sitting in the middle between Lu Chen and Su Niang.

Ever since confirming their relationship last night, she kept looking at Lu Chen with a silly, beaming baby face.

The first time she met him, she thought this man was handsome, and now that he was hers, she found him infuriatingly beautiful.

Driving in the front, Jianxiong glanced at the rearview mirror inside the car and disdainfully said, "Little sister, there’s no need to drool over our boss so much. Tuck that saliva back in before it starts flowing out."

Su Mo quickly wiped at the nonexistent saliva and glared at him, "A fair gentleman, a lady’s best match."

Even the ever-graceful Li Qian couldn’t help but laugh out loud, "Is that how this phrase is originally used?"

Jianxiong laughed out loud without restraint, and Su Niang beside him covered her mouth and chuckled, "The young people nowadays are really amusing."

Lu Chen’s face grew darker and darker, but as he met Su Mo’s bright red lips opening and closing, the look in his eyes suggested that he might have already thought of how to punish her.

After the rain stopped, the temperature outside was close to the most comfortable, not too hot or too cold, just right.

Jianxiong rolled down the windows on both sides, and if it weren’t for the few Evolution Species chasing behind their vehicle, the view outside would have been pretty good.

"Jianxiong, stop the car. I’ll go kill them," Zhao Changsheng sitting on the roof said as the Thunder Whip gathered in his hand.

The military vehicle slowly came to a stop, and the Evolution Species with spikes protruding from their backs rushed toward them at high speed. Su Mo shook Lu Chen’s arm excitedly, "Let me go down, I want to try out my superpower too."

The man did as she said and opened the car door to let her out, standing not far behind her.

"Zhao Changsheng, don’t move yet," Su Mo shouted to the roof, as a Tang Blade suddenly appeared in her hand, and she activated her superpower to disappear from the spot.

She could feel the surroundings slow down as she ran, the attacking zombies’ claws coming at her seemed like slow motion, frame by frame in her eyes.

"Too slow," she muttered under her breath, and with a twist of her hand, the Tang Blade decapitated the zombie’s head.

She darted agilely among several zombies, her speed was so fast that only a blur was left behind. In a matter of seconds, she reappeared beside Lu Chen with the Tang Blade dripping black blood. The zombies behind her stood rigid, with a line of blood spurting from their necks, their heads neatly dislodged.

She had grown stronger, which was what Lu Chen had happily anticipated.

"Let’s go see if there are any Crystal Stones," Su Mo said to the man with a gleeful smile.

With a stir of the Tang Blade among those severed heads, a transparent Crystal Stone fell out.

"It seems that as long as it’s an evolved zombie, they’ll have this thing," she collected all the stones and threw them into her System Bag.

"Let’s keep them for now, they might be useful later," the man ruffled her hair.

The two got back in the vehicle and continued on their journey.

Perhaps because of the broadcasted rescue base information playing in a loop on the radio inside the car, they encountered many vehicles along the way.

"Are they all heading to the base?" Su Mo asked curiously, leaning on Lu Chen’s shoulder.

"Seems like it," Li Qian replied, his spiritual power always dispersed to watch the surroundings of the vehicle.

"Don’t you think these vehicles are getting too close to us?" Su Mo observed the vehicles on both sides, puzzled.

She didn’t understand why at first, until one of the vehicles pulled up alongside them and rolled down its window, then she suddenly realized.

"Cutie, it’s tiring to sit on the roof. Come sit in big brother’s arms haha," said a burly man with a goatee in the jeep to the right, whistling loudly at Zhao Changsheng on the roof.

"I think they are heading for trouble," Su Mo glanced at that vehicle, speaking to Lu Chen.

At first, Zhao Changsheng couldn’t be bothered with those people, simply enjoying the wind on top of the vehicle. It wasn’t until the goateed man saw Su Mo inside, made several vulgar comments, and started to unbuckle his belt to swing it around in his hand, that she finally exploded...
