Chapter 84 - 82: Gas Station

Chapter 84: Chapter 82: Gas Station

Mo Yan and the others followed and also reached the police car, and then boarded two police cars that closely followed the others.

Zhao Changsheng once again leaned out of the sunroof, with her five-meter-long Thunder Whip relentlessly sweeping at zombies emerging from all around, she seemed like a deity amidst the rain.

The prison grew increasingly distant from them. Explosions lit the sky with enormous mushroom clouds in the rain as Lu Chen had somehow detonated the two bombs buried deep beneath the prison, causing the entire prison to collapse and burying all the zombies with it.

Inside Lu Chen’s embrace, Su Mo cried out in pain as he tore open the thigh area of her pants where the wound had not fully healed and was turning black, a sign of the virus infecting her.

"Hang in there, Su Mo," Lu Chen embraced her tightly, his stern face filled with pity. His large hand held her shoulder to keep her from moving and touching the wound.

Su Mo struggled painfully, whimpering as her veins bulged all over her body, and countless black viruses rampaged throughout her insides. A red crystal lodged in her heart emitted a small particle glowing with a faint green light, mixing with her blood and surging towards the virus at high speed.

"Integrate into the heart"

The instant the virus and the green particles collided, the pain reached its peak.

"Ah!" Su Mo’s eyes suddenly widened in anguish, and she went mad with pain.

The pain deep within her soul was unbearable, driving her to unconsciously want to bite off her own tongue several times.

Lu Chen took a sip of Biluochun Tea, held it in his mouth, and turned Su Mo’s face towards him, his cold, thin lips pressed onto hers, pouring the healing Biluochun Tea into her mouth.

Seeing that it did not alleviate her pain, the man repeated the action a few times before directly stretching his own arm into Su Mo’s mouth, allowing her to bite into it tightly.

Her teeth sank deep into his flesh, and blood flowed from her mouth; Lu Chen did not even frown but gently patted her back and murmured softly, "Be good, just hang on a little longer."

The integration was a long and painful process. Jianxiong drove the car towards the expressway leading out of the city, but Li Qian suddenly instructed him to take a side road around the town.

"Something’s coming!" he said, frowning as he intently watched the road ahead, "And it’s fast!"

Without a second thought, Jianxiong quickly turned the steering wheel and floored the accelerator, leaving the spacious main road for a smaller path on the left.

Mo Yan and his group, seeing them suddenly turn, also quickly turned the steering wheel to follow them.

A thunderous moo shook the air, and the ground itself seemed to tremble. Just ahead on the main road, a hairless beast with white pupils was charging at them rapidly.

The fur hanging off its body indicated it was one of the two cows that had escaped from the prison.

Mo Yan’s heart leapt as he fiercely pressed the gas pedal, rushing down the side road.

Jianxiong checked the rearview mirror and saw the mutated cow, shocking him as he realized, "Even the animals are mutating! What a fucked-up world."

"There’s another one!" Li Qian saw on his mental map that another cow was closing in on their path.

Zhao Changsheng shouted from the roof, "I see it, there’s no place to hide ahead!"

They were now flanked by enemies.

With no other choice, Jianxiong slammed on the brakes, forcibly stopping the car sideways in the middle of the road.

The two police cars being chased by the cow immediately braked upon seeing this, Mo Yan’s car in front, while the car behind was lifted high by the cow’s horns, flipping over in mid-air and crashing down onto the concrete.

"We must fight!" Zhao Changsheng yelled, as he hurled a concentrated Thunder Ball.

She only slowed its attack speed, Lu Chen, holding Su Mo, sat in the car as Cold Ice Barbs formed in front of the rushing cow.

Several ice barbs rapidly formed from the ground and pierced into the cow’s body. It bellowed angrily, and with steam blowing from its nostrils, it knocked away the ice barbs in front and continued to charge at them.

Jianxiong rushed over and shouted, "Li Qian!"

Li Qian focused his gaze on the cow, ready to activate his superpower at any moment.

As Jianxiong reached the cow and swung his fist, the eyes under Li Qian’s glasses narrowed, and a surge of spiritual power flowed forth.

The cow stopped. In just one second, Jianxiong’s fist, protruding with a Bone Spur, shot upward through the cow’s throat into its brain. The huge rotting body thunderously fell, releasing a transparent stone as it did.

He picked up the stone, grabbed the enormous cow horn, and dragged it to the side of the road before running back, "We need to go! Is little sister holding up?"

Lu Chen looked down at Su Mo in his arms; she was still biting down on his arm, suppressing immense pain.

"Boss, your hand..." Jianxiong began, hesitating as the bright red blood continuously flowed from the girl’s mouth, staining both their clothes.

"Lu Chen! Help us!" Mo Yan shouted from not far behind them.

The man merely glanced at them and said calmly, "I’m fine, let’s go."

They got back into the car and sped off, ignoring the cries and shouts of Mo Yan and Ai Yang.

The virus inside Su Mo was being slowly devoured by green particles, and as the virus diminished, she began to quiet down, relaxing her mouth.

The green energy in her body became gentle and soothing, and the color of her leg wound returned to normal as it slowly healed.

Su Niang sat beside her, wiping her sweat with a hand, "This girl has a strong fate."

"Mmm," Lu Chen, almost had a piece of flesh bitten off his arm by Su Mo; he gently brushed the hair sticking to her face with his injured hand.

The sky was starting to brighten, and everyone was extremely tired. Jianxiong drove to a dilapidated gas station to stop; their car was nearly out of fuel.

He got out to try the fuel pump, which was completely empty.

"Let’s rest here for a bit," Jianxiong sat down on the ground, breathing heavily and wiping sweat.

Zhao Changsheng jumped down from the roof of the car, opened the door from the outside, and let Lu Chen carry Su Mo out of the car.

"How is she, Momo? How is she doing?" she leaned in close to him, softly inquiring about Su Mo.

"She’s made it through," Lu Chen held the girl tighter in his arms and kicked open the door to the gas station convenience store.

Inside, it was a mess, with two rotting corpses lying by the door and all edible items long since taken by passersby, leaving the shelves toppled and scattered on the floor.

Jianxiong followed him in, and under Lu Chen’s direction, moved several shelves near a corner of the store to create a small enclosed area, where the man carried Su Mo and kept the others outside.

Li Qian, supporting Su Niang, walked in, cleared a spot, and helped her sit down, "Let’s rest here."

"Ah," still greatly shaken, Su Niang’s legs were somewhat weak as she leaned against the wall and drank some water handed to her by Li Qian.

Zhao Changsheng paced back and forth outside the shelves, worrying endlessly about Su Mo, while Jianxiong, guarding the door, was made dizzy by her constant pacing...
