Chapter 498: Chapter 496: The Troubles of a Muscular Woman
"We’ll only know after clearing the zombies. This is still a small plane, and even without the control tower’s help, we can fly at low altitudes, especially since there’s hardly any rain or thunderstorms now," said the closely-cropped-haired man nearby.
"What do you think? Shall we cooperate?"
Lu Chen pondered, seemingly weighing the possibilities, and Su Mo then asked, "What’s your destination?"
"Didn’t the radio mention a refugee camp in P City? We’re planning to check it out."
At the mention of P City, Jianxiong’s eyes lit up, "Then you’ve found the right people; we just came from P City."
Since their destination was the same, they could now reach a consensus.
Jin Han asked, "Lu Chen, what do you say?"
Lu Chen jumped off the ruins, turned around to catch a hand from Su Mo, and mused, "Clear the zombies."
He agreed, and with that, the matter was settled.
The group returned to the terminal below, where the flashlight’s glow lit up the fan-shaped windows, the densely packed faces sticking to the glass giving everyone chills.
"How are we going to open it?" Jin Han leaped onto the steel structure ruins, getting close to the cabin door.
"A special key, it can be manually opened from the outside," the woman jangled a bunch of keys that appeared out of nowhere and threw them in his direction.
"Then I’ll open it."
After Lu Chen’s nod, everyone lined up, ready to clear the zombies, and Su Mo, with a Tang Blade in her left hand, transformed her smooth, lotus-arm-like arm into a brown wooden spindle, the radiating energy catching the frequent attention of the three others.
"You can use your hand like that?" the muscular woman curiously asked.
Su Mo didn’t respond, but the cabin door at the front opened.
Jin Han struck a Wind Blade at the first zombie that rushed out, decapitating it. Using the wind’s force, he leaped onto the top of the airplane, shouting loudly, "Be careful! They’re all coming out! There are high-level zombies inside!"
Groups of zombies swarmed out, scattering in all directions, their protruding spines, shooting tongues, and sharp claws plunging them into a bloody battle instantly.
Su Mo’s form blurred into an afterimage, weaving through the zombies. A Level 4 Zombie’s long tongue grazed past her ear, clipping off a strand of her hair, while her right-hand spindle viciously stabbed into the zombie’s eye.
The tongue, frantically waving with disgusting mucus, went limp on the ground, and the zombie fell to its knees motionless.
To those three, Su Mo was practically uncatchable, while Lu Chen’s Bone Chilling Ice and Jianxiong’s ultimate fierce form made them realize just how formidable these people were.
Countless zombies were quickly exterminated under their overwhelming power.
After the muscular woman had killed only one Level 3 Zombie, Su Mo had already stabbed four or five to death, creating a stark contrast that felt like a harsh slap across the woman’s face.
As Su Mo passed by her, she smiled and said, "Never underestimate someone based on their appearance."
As she said this, she looked the woman up and down, her gaze lingering on the woman’s strong muscles and flat, firm chest, and Su Mo quietly withdrew her eyes, suddenly feeling that having the Power Element in a woman was rather unfortunate, more like a bodybuilder than a bodybuilder himself.
The zombie bodies were gathered in the terminal’s open space and burned to ashes, and the Crystal Stones that were recovered were also fairly distributed.
Su Mo stepped onto the airplane, and the stench inside nearly made her roll her eyes back—the sensitivity of her sense of smell was really too much to bear.
The interior of the cabin could only be described as a disaster, with dark, dried bloodstains everywhere, overturned suitcases, dirty clothes scattered all over the floor, and a few skeletal remains disarticulated on the ground, still clad with some bits of flesh.
"If there were any choice, I wouldn’t want to get on this airplane at all," Su Mo said, fighting the urge to vomit as she entered the cockpit. It was full of buttons she couldn’t understand, but Lu Chen seemed to grasp them at a glance. He tossed the skeletal remains of a body from the seat to the back, wiped off the leftover debris from the chair, and then sat down.
Su Mo stood by his side, watching him operate the controls, and the console lit up, illuminating the lights on both sides of the airplane.
Outside, Jin Han and the others cheered.
"This is good, we can return early now."
The three men were also visibly excited.
It was already approaching night, the sun had long set behind the mountains, and the moon hung high in the sky.
The group cleaned up the airplane briefly and, following Lu Chen’s instructions, checked the entire aircraft. They all gathered to sit in the terminal where many unbroken benches still remained, good for seating several people after wiping them down.
The three people across finally calmed down and started introducing themselves; they were all Level 3 superpower users, not of a high level—Su Mo’s attention was all on the woman.
It turned out she used to be a typically frail southern woman, but after evolving a Power Element superpower, her bones began to grow, and the direction of her body’s development became completely uncontrollable. Eventually, she transformed into a muscular woman with eight-pack abs and biceps.
Su Mo immediately understood why this woman had been the only one to jeer at her; it was entirely due to psychological imbalance. She could quite understand it, after all, not every woman could accept the fact of being more masculine than men.
"Have some of this," she threw a few cans over as a gesture of peace.
The other party also sincerely came over to express her apologies.
Thus, the group rested in the ruined terminal.
A small fire was lit, and Su Mo lay on a bench, leaning against Lu Chen’s knees, playing with his trouser leg, and asked softly, "Are we sure about tomorrow?"
"Flying blind? No," he leaned back against the seat, his response was calm and nonchalant, which somehow made Su Mo feel more at ease.
She smiled slightly, "My life is in your hands, goodnight."
After a few hours of rest, as the sky began to lighten, the sound of glass shattering entered Su Mo’s ears.
She jolted up from Lu Chen’s legs, her forehead accidentally bumping his chin, waking him from his resting trance.
"What’s wrong?" he steadied her shoulders, looking calmly into her somewhat panicked eyes.
"Some glass broke," she said, calming down suddenly.
"Glass broke?" Lu Chen repeated her words, then his gaze turned cold. After making sure she was seated properly, he immediately stood up and strode across the stone ruins of the terminal to the outside.
The Spiritual Superpower User who was still resting also rolled over and sat up, shouting, "On the airplane runway! Some zombies broke through the glass and came out of an airplane!"
"This is not a good sign," Jin Han immediately called his companions, "We can’t let these zombies occupy the runway!"
Su Mo also called out to Jianxiong, and everyone went into Level 1 alert.
