Chapter 450: Chapter 449: Taken Away by Yang Yichu
The giant zombie resumed activity, clawing at the earthen wall and advancing directly towards Rong Bai.
Lu Chen’s eyes reddened as he mustered all his strength to conjure a massive Ice Shield in front of Rong Bai, also aiding in his escape.
But Rong Bai didn’t do as such, only pushing all his subordinates down to the refugee camp, then the block of ice behind him shattered.
Feeling the fist attacking him from behind, he knew there was no escape; Rong Bai gave one last look at Lu Chen below, laughed heartily, and closed his eyes.
Su Mo bit her lip, she had ingested Bok Choy without anyone noticing and charged directly up the earthen wall onto the platform.
She stood in front of Rong Bai, her eyes solely fixed on Yang Yichu, completely ignoring the foul-smelling palm that was attacking her.
Lu Chen’s heartbeat paused for a moment, "Su Mo!"
A tremendous Cold Ice radiance burst from his body, and in an instant, Ice Seal spread from his body, freezing countless zombies within ten miles, and a sword made of Cold Ice formed in front of him.
He disappeared in the blink of an eye, tearing open Space and appearing atop the high wall; his forced upgrade brought the Space superpower’s teleportation ability to its limit, the giant sword meeting the foul-smelling palm.
The center of the giant zombie’s palm was pierced, eliciting a painful howl from the creature.
The palm stopped before Lu Chen, followed by the Space around him beginning to show strange fluctuations, like a large meat grinder, forcibly destroying the giant zombie’s hand.
At the same time, the large hole that had been broken in the earthen wall was also completely filled by him with ice blocks.
A massive amount of blood and flesh splattered, the frozen zombies collapsing into chunks along with the collapse of the Ice Shield.
Feng Yao, thrown backward, endured the pain in his chest, pulling the blinded Li Qian and rushing into the refugee camp before the gap in the earthen wall closed completely.
Having done all this, Lu Chen staggered, about to fall forward.
"Lu Chen!" Su Mo grabbed the man’s hand, but he was already in a state of faint due to the forced upgrade.
She pushed him onto Rong Bai.
Outside, though half of the zombie horde was destroyed, their numbers were still horrifyingly immense.
Su Mo looked up, locking eyes with the small figure on the giant zombie’s shoulder, and shouted angrily, "If you dare touch them, I will kill you!"
Yang Yichu seemed to be stunned and silently sat on top, not speaking for a long time.
It just stared silently at Su Mo, and the surviving zombies below also stopped their attacks.
All the superpower users were amazed at this spectacle, Rong Bai dragging the unconscious Lu Chen, who had fainted after forcing himself to level up and unleash a powerful move, said grudgingly, "You know each other?"
Su Mo didn’t answer his question directly but just kept a tight gaze on Yang Yichu, asking the first question, "What exactly do you want to do?"
It was silent for a long time, its pale little mouth slightly open, "I couldn’t find you, so I killed them."
In its heart, humans always came out to hinder it on the road to find its sister, causing it to sever the last shred of goodwill it had for humanity.
Su Mo could also vaguely sense some of this, she pursed her lips and said, "But now you’ve found me."
"You, still, want to run, why, escape?" Yang Yichu’s voice was sharp and full of accusation, this directly impacted the zombies below, causing them to grow restless.
Su Mo sighed, her tone reasonably amiable, "I didn’t want to run, can you let them go?"
"They, are, food," it stuttered and babbled, its eyes fearful she might escape again—even a turn of Su Mo’s head could provoke an emotional response from it.
"Come home with me, I’ll let them go."
This moment was bound to come.
She was silent for a while, and as Yang Yichu’s expression started to become more ferocious, she said, "Okay, but I have conditions."
There always has to be a resolution, she couldn’t let Yang Yichu go on like this any longer.
She turned to look at Lu Chen in Rong Bai’s arms, straightened the hair on his forehead, and placed dozens of bottles of tea on the ground, whispering, "Tell him, I’ll be right back."
Rong Bai grabbed her in a panic and said, "Su Mo, have you lost your mind!"
"This matter is inextricably linked to me. With so many people in the refugee camp, they can’t all die; otherwise, I would become a sinner," Su Mo sighed.
She then looked up again and this time, extended her hand toward Yang Yichu, "Let’s go, take all the zombies with you, leave, and promise me you’ll never step into P City’s boundaries again."
"Really? Sister belongs to me now?"
"Yes, really."
Yang Yichu nodded mechanically. The fierce look on his little face softened inexplicably, and his rigid mouth awkwardly curled into a smile, childlike in its innocence.
You see, some people just have to show up and stand there to resolve all conflicts.
Zhao Changsheng, on the platform next door, shouted angrily and frantically, "Momo! What are you doing! Momo, come back!!"
Su Mo waved to her, nonchalant, "I reckon Li Qian might be blind for quite a while, so take good care of him before I return."
She ignored the protests behind her and the exclamations of the superpower users, jumping directly off the earthen wall and into the mass of zombies.
Although the giant zombie had lost an arm, its other intact hand still hoisted her onto its other shoulder.
Zombies come fiercely and depart as quickly as the receding tide.
Zhao Changsheng’s voice was hoarse from shouting, unable to call Su Mo to even glance back. Lu Chen, propped up by Rong Bai, suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, his handsome face twisted in pain.
The sun hidden behind the clouds emerged, merely casting the afterglow of the sunset on the retreating shadows of the zombies.
Is it sad? Su Mo asked herself.
Looking at the giant zombie head right by her, she smiled, not too sad; their survival was her greatest hope when she came into this world alone.
Moreover, she would return, so her beloved should just wait a bit longer for her.
"Sister, we, are together again," Yang Yichu clapped his hands, expressing his joy with his pale eyes constantly searching for hers.
Su Mo poked the giant zombie carrying her and asked, "How do you control these zombies?"
Yang Yichu tilted his head, "Don’t know, it seems as soon as I woke up, I just knew how."
He didn’t remember anything that happened after the shipwreck.
Su Mo sighed and then asked jokingly, "Will they eat me?"
"No."
"Where shall we go then?"
"Back home."
Yang Yichu did not provide a specific address, just kept repeating returning home. Su Mo thought for a moment and suggested, "Before that, how about we make a trip to the other side of P City?"
She had one last thing to do for the refugee camp.
However, Yang Yichu seemed to have misunderstood. He turned his head, staring at her expressionlessly, "Sister, are you going to run away again?"
"No, I just want to solve a problem. You can follow me closely all the time."
He seemed to ponder for a moment, then agreed, "Okay."
