Chapter 406: Chapter 405: The End

Sister said he was no good, and that meant he really was no good; Jianxiong decisively grabbed Jiang Yulian and Ling Ye and bolted.

Su Mo stood shoulder to shoulder with Lu Chen, and as she turned, she saw a skull hidden in the darkness.

"Su Yao."

Her voice was laced with a tinge of resolute hatred.

Feeling the intense hatred emanating from the woman beside him, along with the name she had just called out, Lu Chen realized what kind of monster was in front of them—one that resembled a stick insect.

"Your father?"

Upon hearing the word "father," Su Mo lowered her eyes, "No, an enemy."

Her right hand, which had transformed into a shield, instantaneously morphed back into a spindle, radiating a whiff of murderous intent.

Lu Chen’s eyes darkened; ice crystal gathered around him, and even in the dark space, there was a hint of sharpness, "He must not be allowed to go up."

Su Mo nodded.

"You’ve been very naughty, joining forces with Lu Jin to destroy my laboratory, my crystal stones! To ruin all of my deals!"

"Su Mo! I created you! I am your father!"

Although Su Yao was clearly lucid, the madness and rage in his tone still instinctively moved Lu Chen to protect Su Mo.

Although, from the aura emanating from his woman, it seemed she needed no help.

"Lu Chen, I must deal with him personally, do not interfere," Su Mo pushed him back slightly, her presence flourishing.

She was indeed completely different from before—although at the same level, the pressure she exerted was enough to make Lu Chen feel the strain.

"I will wait for you in the back," he knew that even with a thousand questions waiting for her answer, all he could do now was to respect her wishes.

"Su Yao, was my mother really a zombie?" Su Mo asked him.

Su Yao laughed weirdly, "She was originally a normal person, she only became like that because she couldn’t withstand you."

"You were an embryo nourished by the virus and implanted into the mother’s body. She was infected by you, isn’t that quite normal?"

Her facial muscles tensed, and she could no longer control the raging murderous intent within her; Tang Blade in her left hand and her right hand became a spindle, as she attacked Su Yao furiously.

"I’ll kill you!"

Every cell in her body was screaming, kill him! Kill him!

Everyone was watching this frenzied battle unfold.

She wasn’t very skilled with the knife in her left hand, but the spindle that Su Mo’s right hand formed carried lethal offensives, striking towards Su Yao’s skull with each attack.

His movement speed matched hers almost perfectly, and for the moment, Su Mo couldn’t even land a hit.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, meeting Su Yao’s gaze, channeling that miraculous ability.

As Su Yao, who had been clinging to the wall, met her eyes of death, he felt a sharp pain in his brain, and the limbs he used to cling to the wall began to weaken, causing him to fall.

Su Mo suddenly realized an interesting fact: he had only increased his speed, but fundamentally, his killing power was frail.

"Western Laboratory, self-destruct countdown, 5 minutes."

Feng Yao couldn’t help but urge from behind, "Hurry up!"

Su Mo stepped towards Su Yao, whose disjointed elongated arms transformed into scythes coming at her, but she easily blocked them with the spindle in her right hand.

"Su Yao, the evolution potions you’ve created seem a bit lackluster," with the Tang Blade in her left hand, she swiftly and harshly chopped off his arm.

"Ahhhhh!!!!"

Despite having grown somewhat strange, the pain of having an arm severed and penetrating the bone still made Su Yao scream miserably.

The corridor shook as Su Mo looked into the darkness, where swarms of monsters of various forms approached.

She turned her head and shouted, "Close the gate!"

Lu Chen retreated to the elevator entrance, jumped in, and pulled the elevator gate down, and the elevator began to rise slowly.

"Hurry!" the man called out in a low voice.

Su Mo’s eyes sank as she deactivated attack mode and ran back to jump onto the slowly ascending platform.

Below, countless monsters surged forward, and as they overwhelmed Su Yao, his screams were also buried.

The elevator platform also began to rise slowly from the circular corridor at that moment, the steel-reinforced concrete walls on either side shielding from all monster attacks.

"Western Laboratory self-destruct sequence, one minute."

Once at the top, Feng Yao did not stop running, but instead called everyone to hurry, "The helicopter is gone, seems like someone made a move first, run fast!"

After seeing a missile streaking through the darkness towards them like a shooting star, Su Mo immediately started sprinting.

Children and adults combined, nearly two hundred people, one minute to escape.

"Get down!"

Feng Yao yelled out.

Everyone rolled down the dunes as intense explosions coupled with scorching heat waves swept over their heads.

Series of explosions leveled the entire laboratory, leaving the surroundings pitted with large craters formed by countless grains of sand.

Ringing filled their ears, and it took a long time for them to regain their senses.

Su Mo shook her head, dusted off the sand on top, and climbed up from under the dunes, gazing at the laboratory that had now become a sunken wasteland.

It felt like a weight had lifted from her heart, and with long-missed relief, she cracked a smile.

Under the pitch-black sky, the sparks from the explosion were impressively dazzling.

"We made it out," she whispered.

"Sister Su, I’m so glad you’re okay!" Ling Ye broke free from Jianxiong’s protective grip and ran to Su Mo, hugging her thigh, his eyes rimmed with red.

Su Mo ruffled his hair, "From now on we can be at ease, no one will come to take-you away again."

Ling Ye nodded, and as she reassured him, tears fell.

"Alright now, Miss Su, I’ve brought them all out as you requested. Where to go next, you’ll have to lead the way," Feng Yao said, dusting off the sand and approaching Su Mo.

"And this," Lv Mao said, holding up an abandoned plastic bottle he’d found somewhere.

Su Mo smiled and conjured up two more bottles of Jasmine Tea and tossed them to him, "Not much left, drink it sparingly."

Her gesture of giving Jasmine Tea to them piqued Jianxiong’s curiosity. He whispered to Lu Chen, "Boss, isn’t Sister exposing all her cards?"

Lu Chen appeared relaxed and spoke lightly, "No one can threaten her now."

Feng Yao was crystal clear about the mood of those few men; he was aware that they had come to some sort of understanding with Su Mo.

With Su Mo being so cooperative, Lv Mao’s attitude towards her improved slightly, "Let me introduce myself, I am Feng Qi, and this is Feng Ba..."

He pointed to the brothers beside him and introduced them to Su Mo one by one.

They were all named in numerical order, and Su Mo didn’t catch all the names but curiously asked, "You all have the surname Feng?"

"No, they used to be bodyguards for the President, and they were given these nicknames. They weren’t allowed to use their original names anymore, so they just used Old Feng’s surname."

Su Mo looked at Feng Yao, who nodded back at her to confirm this was true.
