Chapter 404: Chapter 403: Saving People
Such an incident had left Su Yao bewildered; when did his ultimate creation gain the ability to store living entities in a "Space"?!
His heart was overtaken by immense panic as he began searching for the Evolution Potion he had just perfected and stored in the biological container.
Countless bullets were fired at the rampaging Scorpion, but Su Mo didn’t waste time clashing with them; instead, she went straight to the neighboring laboratory where Ling Ye was confined.
With ease, she swiped open the door and made her way to the center of the main hall where a glass container stood.
She raised her fist and shattered the glass, which was as hard as reinforced concrete, letting a large volume of liquid pour out.
Su Mo looked at a few other containers that were rising, holding newborn children inside; a few were slightly older. She used the same method to break the glass and free the people inside.
She placed her hand under their noses; the faint breaths they took made her eyes light up.
"Sister Su,"
Ling Ye slid out of the glass container with the liquid, lying naked on the floor; he turned his head and saw that all-too-familiar figure through his blurry vision.
Upon hearing the boy’s call, Su Mo turned around, her eyes sparkling with joy. She rushed over and pulled out clothes from the System Bag to dress him hastily, "Are you alright?"
Because he had been extensively drained of blood, his complexion was terrifyingly pale, and there were still tubes connected to his body, leading to unknown places.
"Let’s pull these out first," he said weakly.
Su Mo fumbled with the tubes attached to his body, "It might hurt a bit, just bear with it."
"Go ahead, Sister Su," Ling Ye closed his eyes and bit his lower lip firmly with his upper lip.
Seeing his state, Su Mo turned his wrist over; a very thick tube was directly linked to his vein, reaching deep inside.
As Su Mo slowly pulled it out, Ling Ye’s agonized screams filled her ears; extracting the tube from the blood vessel was so painful, he wished he could pass out immediately.
Su Mo also felt a bit of heartache; she had to be cautious and ensure she didn’t get contaminated with his blood.
After much difficulty, she managed to pull out the tubes from both of his arms—deeply inserted about seven or eight centimeters into his veins; the torn ends even had some blue-green parts attached, which were Ling Ye’s tendons and veins.
"It’s okay, it’s okay now!" Holding his head, she discarded the tubes and saw the wounds on his arms healing rapidly, finally she exhaled in relief.
She then fed Ling Ye a sip of Zijuan Tea to repair his internal injuries, and combined with his own Healing ability, his complexion slowly started to look much better.
Patting his head, Su Mo said, "Wait here for a bit, I need to let these other children out."
She stood up and rushed to the wall near the door to operate the controls according to the instructions. As a result, hundreds of containers rose simultaneously.
On the electronic panel, nearly half of the children were still alive. She clenched her teeth; she couldn’t just stand by and watch these kids die here, she had to take them out.
All living children in the glass containers were freed by her, and some with stronger vitality had already opened their eyes at the first opportunity.
Big and small, Su Mo had to fully mobilize these older children who could walk.
All of them, naked, had tubes connected to their navels forcibly removed, causing blood to spill everywhere, and their bodies were covered with holes from where blood had been drawn.
She threw all of the clothes from the System Bag at them, "Get dressed first!"
Ling Ye, having recuperated a little strength, also came over to help as much as he could.
Su Mo had also tried to see if she could place the children into that five-grid Space that could sustain living things, but she failed.
It could hold living creatures, but not humans.
Looking at the bewildered faces of the children, she thought for a moment and then called out loudly, "Pick up the children next to you who can’t walk yet, I will take you to find your mothers!"
As soon as they heard the word "mother," the older children immediately understood what it meant, and they hurriedly began to pick up the children lying on the ground who couldn’t walk.
Su Mo roughly estimated that there were still close to one hundred surviving children, a number that made her clench her fists tightly.
"Alright, children, follow me closely!" she reopened the door and led a group of young children, who had just learned to walk before being locked up in jars for experiments, outside.
Next door, there were countless guards and researchers screaming in agony, Scorpion was still wreaking havoc inside, and Su Mo had no intention of calling it back, leading a group of children through the corridors.
During their escape, a pair of guards burst out from a side corridor, originally there to provide support. Upon seeing the group of children, they didn’t hesitate to open fire.
"No!"
Su Mo roared in rage, her eyes poisoned with fury, a shield appeared on her right hand, and she blocked most of the bullets with her own strength, but a few still hit several children.
She could no longer contain the murderous rage in her heart and, her eyes red, her right hand turned the wood vine into a spindle, piercing through the jaw of one guard and out the top of his head.
Her eyes met those of another guard.
The other felt his blood boiling inside him, and then his head exploded with a bang.
With her own strength, she held back the entire team, took an Identity Card from a fallen guard, and threw it to Ling Ye, who was leading, "Take them to Zone D to find Lu Chen, someone will meet you there!"
"Sister Su, what about you!" Ling Ye stopped in his tracks, his expression conflicted, holding the card and not wanting to abandon her.
Su Mo’s eyes were bloodshot, and she even threw a gun she took from a dead guard to Ling Ye, gritting her teeth, "You have to go, I put so much effort into rescuing you, don’t let me down!"
Ling Ye picked up the gun, his hand gripping the card tightly, "I understand, I’ll wait for you in Zone D, Sister Su."
After he said that, he ran without looking back.
Su Mo delivered a spinning kick, slamming someone into the wall. Due to the power outage, the magnetic field stopped functioning, and those fighting her still had superpowers.
She dodged a few fireballs, her ears twitched, and she looked back toward the laboratory. A pair of scorpion pincers appeared around the corner, their blade-like forelimbs opening and closing.
Su Mo immediately chose to flee and also snagged an Identity Card from another guard, activated her Speed superpower, and dashed forward like a shadowy afterimage.
Ahead, several gunshots rang out. As the elevator doors closed and began to ascend, smoke was coming from the gun in Ling Ye’s hand.
The warrior trying to open the elevator door had his head blown open and fell right in front of the door.
Ling Ye used the elevator twice to transport the children. Seeing Su Mo approach, he fumbled with the elevator again, but it was too late.
"You go ahead," Su Mo mouthed the words.
At the entrance of Zone D, Feng Yao led a team that forcefully cleared out the guards. He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but there seemed to be half as many people here as usual, almost as if it were intentional.
The moment power returned along with their superpowers, Lu Chen and his men began their operation. They swiftly shattered the glass in front of them, and with one shot, he took out the brain of a guard stationed there.
