The Chef Rules the Last Days -
Chapter 398 - 397: She Can’t Lose Her Arm
Chapter 398: Chapter 397: She Can’t Lose Her Arm
After the fully armed superpower users burst in, it was Su Mo who spread the corpses at their feet.
"Planning to kill me? He’s already dead," she said lightly, her eyes filled with ineffable evil.
The few exchanged glances. The president had been killed instantly right before their eyes, and the girl in front of them looked as if she had emerged from the Blood Pond, shattered and terrifying. Those pure, large eyes sent shivers down their spines.
No one immediately moved to harm Su Mo, nor did she launch an attack on them.
The death of the president and all the congress members meant a change in who controlled the laboratory. Even those with great superpowers had to carefully choose their sides.
"How about from now on, you follow me?"
Tired, Su Mo sat down on the ground and tilted her head, her bloodstained face smiling brightly, "Are you not tired of staying in the dark underground where you can’t even see your hand in front of you, forever without daylight?"
In the president’s room, which was absolutely confidential with no surveillance, she spoke these words with an exceptionally clear mind.
Since ancient times, the strong have always needed to be respected and worshipped.
The few exchanged looks again. The apparently leading Bald guy pointed his gun at Su Mo for a while, then slowly squatted down in front of her and asked just one question, "What are you?"
A thing?
Su Mo thought about it and replied, "A monster, I guess. Isn’t your control room always looking for me?"
The man stared at her for a long while, "Dr. Su hid your true situation, what do you want to do?"
"Blow this place up, take my people, and leave for the surface," Su Mo said cheerily, her large eyes devoid of any hint of jest.
"We have food and drink here, why should we help you?", a man with green hair behind the burly man uttered disdainfully.
Su Mo tilted her head to look at him, "You all are strong. The country no longer exists, so why follow an old man from the lab? What he can offer, I can too."
Suddenly, she stretched out her hand, and a bottle of Jasmine Tea appeared out of nowhere in her palm.
"Want to try a sip?" she smiled cryptically, "There might be a surprise."
The leading man watched the floating Jasmine in the tea bottle in her hand for a while, then suddenly reached out to take it.
"Man, Old Yao, you’re actually drinking it? Aren’t you afraid she’ll poison you to death?"
The Bald, muscular man scoffed, "I can blow up her hand, and I can take off her head."
Knowing deep down she wouldn’t dare to do such a thing, he drank the Jasmine Tea without any concern.
As his expression started showing noticeable emotional fluctuations and insane changes, and just as Lv Mao was about to rush forward, Feng Yao stopped him.
Su Mo’s smile grew wider.
Everyone present was a Level 5 or above superpower user.
Sometimes, drawing them to your side to form your own power is more effortless than fighting alone, right?
The current her, indeed owed her state to the virus and the Level 6 Wood Element Crystal Stone. Although she looked miserable, she had absolute power, daring to show her cards after getting rid of the master.
"Given to you by Dr. Su?" the muscular man said incredulously, touching his own belly, where the energy was rapidly rising. This was many times more effective than directly absorbing energy from a Crystal Stone.
Su Mo shook her head, "Nope, he didn’t have the ability to create this."
He stared at her for a while, his rugged face twitching at the corner, "What do you want us to do?"
"Damn, Old Yao, the president’s still dead over here, you serious?" Lv Mao kicked the president’s corpse, which Su Mo had tossed aside, without a hint of respect. They had been submissive for too long and naturally knew exactly how treacherous this man was.
Su Mo glanced at the corpse and languidly moved over, sliced off his entire hand with a knife, and then threw it in front of the muscular man, "Blow up the lab, set the timer for five days from now. Don’t let Daddy find out. You have the capability, right?"
"And then what?"
"Areas A and C have civilians. Send some people from your side to lead them out in five days. The rest should come meet with me in Area D," Su Mo said smoothly.
"The combined population of these two areas is about over two hundred people, brought to the surface? Where could they go?"
Su Mo’s eyes held a strange color as she wiped the thick bloodstains off her face, "P City refugee camp."
"I can find a way to get the people out, but you must provide me with this thing with no restrictions," Feng Yao shook the almost empty bottle of Jasmine Tea in his hand.
Su Mo stared at him, the corners of her mouth curving up, "Deal. But you know this thing shouldn’t be leaked, right?"
"Of course. What’s your name?"
"Su Mo."
"Feng Yao."
The bald Feng Yao gave his name and then, with the severed palm in hand, left with the three brothers looking confused behind him.
Su Mo couldn’t tell how long it had been when she heard noises from the corridor. She closed her eyes and collapsed to the ground.
The tracking device on her neck was activated by Lu Jin.
Lu Jin arrived at the door with people, the bright red hurting his eyes. The strong scent of rust was like poison, seeping into his body and causing pain in all his organs.
There she was, having lost an arm, lying on the ground all alone. Something seemed to break inside his eyes.
"Su Mo!"
He rushed in, his dark eyes filled with extreme panic, and picked up the person whose condition was unknown. He barged past the followers who just entered the room and began to sprint desperately through the dark corridors.
"Hang in there!" Lu Jin held her and stumbled into the elevator, shakingly swiping the card for Section S.
The elevator rose, and he, with trembling hands, pressed down on the bleeding stump of the arm.
Her pulse grew weaker; her already pale face started turning ghastly pale due to the excessive blood loss, even showing a hint of death.
"I’m begging you."
"Please, please don’t die."
Into Su Mo’s ear was the man’s almost pleading voice, and she heard it.
Warm drops landed on her face, one after another.
She felt it, his sobbing and his trembling.
Su Mo was somewhat surprised and found it laughable—afraid that she would die, he was crying for her?
How repulsive.
"Ding"
The elevator arrived, and Lu Jin rushed into the lab where Dr. Su Yao was already waiting.
"Put her into the treatment pod!"
Su Mo felt herself being placed into warm waters. The voices around her became muffled due to the surrounding warm water and the barrier of the glass, and she started slipping into deep sleep as a tube was inserted in her mouth.
"At all costs, you must save her!" Lu Jin pinned Dr. Su against the wall by his throat, a fierce light in his eyes and endless killing intent.
Dr. Su’s face turned red, but he managed a smile, stumbling over his words, "Of... of course."
She was his weapon, as long as she wasn’t dead, he could repair her.
Knowing that Dr. Su would have a way, Lu Jin let go of him and walked to the glass pod holding Su Mo, his voice hoarse, "She can’t lose her hand, I’ll go and find it for her."
With that, the man hurried out.
