Chapter 393: Chapter 392: Your Bones Are Too Brittle

"That was for Councilman Huang!"

The master’s legs were nearly giving out, having just been threatened, and now a formidable-looking person burst in and devoured the bread intended for someone important.

"Mine!" Su Mo protected the bread like a mother hen, hiding it behind her back.

The warriors standing behind her, fearing to anger her, gestured with their eyes to the master in front, who reluctantly moved aside.

Lu Chen, wearing a mask and a chef’s hat, carrying a tray of bread, headed toward the kitchen.

Su Mo’s eyes fixated on his hands, her eyes sparkling, "Cream!"

She followed the man into the kitchen, one after the other, and slammed the kitchen door shut behind her.

The few left outside exchanged glances, but made no move, knowing the kitchen was a dead end; they just had to wait outside until she finished killing someone or eating the cake and came out.

On a tablet one of them held, there was a live tracking of Su Mo’s movements.

As soon as the door closed, Lu Chen grabbed Su Mo’s hand and hoisted her onto the bread-making table, his tone cold and frightening, "Where have you been!"

She had disappeared for a whole week without any contact, and he had been nearly frantic.

Confused, Su Mo stared at him, "Who are you?"

Lu Chen’s expression hardened, then he leaned closer to her, the cold light in his phoenix eyes nearly freezing Su Mo, "What did you say?"

Su Mo noticed his face was unusually pale. Her heart skipped a beat and then with disdain, she pushed to get him off her, "You’re blocking my cake, I might just kill you oh."

Lu Chen stared into her eyes for a long while, suddenly his palm grasped her neck, and his thin lips pressed against hers.

The man’s breath had a faint taste of blood mixed with a refreshing scent, startling Su Mo for a moment, his large hand squeezing her neck.

Her eyes widened, and she noticed a bloody wound on the man’s neck; she seemed to understand how he had escaped.

So, it was in the neck then.

Su Mo’s ears twitched, her vision darkened and filled with murderous intent, she dodged Lu Chen’s vital points and punched him in the stomach.

She had controlled her strength, but it still caused him to stagger back into the wall, vomiting a mouthful of blood while clutching his aching guts.

A hint of pain flashed across her eyes, and then the bakery’s doors were flung open.

It turned out, Lu Jin had turned back halfway.

He kicked the door open, and there was Lu Chen on the ground coughing up blood; Su Mo, seeing Lu Jin’s grinning face as he grabbed a bread roll and jumped off the table, said, "Ajin, you’re so quick".

Lu Jin pulled her arm behind him, looking down from above at Lu Chen with a dark expression, "Lock him and those people up in Block D."

Just moments ago on the road, he had noticed something amiss; Lu Chen’s tracker had been removed, and Fang Ya had gone to Block A to fetch someone.

Thinking that Su Mo might run into Lu Chen, he had been furious.

The scene before him dissipated some of his murderous aura, replacing it with a bit of mockery and pleasure.

On one hand, he did not want Su Mo to become a machine; on the other, he relished the joy that she belonged exclusively to him.

It was contradictory and sad.

"Ajin?" Su Mo shook her arm, unhappily saying, "I can’t eat my cake now, I’ll be angry."

Lu Jin came to his senses and loosened his grip, instead wrapping his arm around her shoulders. He glanced at Lu Chen, who seemed to have passed out, supported by several warriors, and said, "We should head back."

Su Mo obediently nodded, her peripheral vision following the figure being carried away until it disappeared.

Her heart uncontrollably ached again.

Just a bit longer, District D, I’ll be there soon.

She said this to herself in her heart.

She had just walked out of the bakery and hadn’t gone far with Lu Jin when they ran into Lu Yuan.

Sometimes, fate is just so coincidental.

"Brother," she was holding several bags filled with food. Since arriving at the Western Laboratory, they had become dependent on Lu Jin for survival, the family members of a leader who now had to fend for themselves.

Approaching Lu Jin and seeing Su Mo, Lu Yuan’s expression uncontrollably twisted, "You disappeared for several days just to be with her?"

Su Mo curiously tilted her head, "And who is this?"

That innocent demeanor of hers was unbearable for Lu Yuan; she put down the bags angrily, "Mom and Dad were sick, and you didn’t even come to see us, all because of this slut!?"

"Slut," Su Mo laughed, pointing at her merrily.

Hearing her mimic Lu Yuan, Lu Jin’s expression turned instantly grim, his aura becoming frighteningly severe, "Apologize."

His eyes held a sharpness like that of a knife, targeting Lu Yuan.

His gaze frightened her tremendously, and she burst out, unable to bear it any longer, "Every day we are crammed like sardines, while you live comfortably and monopolize all the military power, this is how you treat us!"

Su Mo looked up at Lu Jin and saw his expression worsening, her own small face also darkened, "You’ve made Ajin angry."

"What does it have to do with you.. Ah!"

Before Lu Yuan could finish her sentence, Su Mo, who had been behind Lu Jin, disappeared on the spot.

When she reappeared, she was in front of Lu Yuan. With one hand, she grasped Lu Yuan’s neck, lifting her up as one would a chicken despite being taller, her pale fingers pressing into the bones, "Ajin, shall I make her shut up?"

"Here, it could snap with just a little push," she turned her head and pointed to a protruding bone on the back of Lu Yuan’s neck.

Lu Yuan, unable to use any superpower, felt as if an invisible force entrapped her, making her immobile and as if she might explode in the next second.

In her eyes, bulging with terror and blood vessels, time seemed to last uncannily long. After Lu Jin’s refusal, Su Mo let go.

Lu Yuan fell to the ground with a thud, clutching her throat, gasping, and retching.

"Your bones are too fragile," Su Mo said from above, looking down at her and chuckling before running back to Lu Jin’s side.

"Let’s go, I’ll take you back," Lu Jin took her hand, casting a severe glance at Lu Yuan before leaving without looking back.

Su Mo was sent back to Eden Garden, while Lu Jin rushed back to the residence prepared for his parents, where all researchers, elite warriors, and councilmembers’ families lived, located in District B. The structure was similar to District A but with more spacious rooms, akin to a residential area.

Upon entering the house, Fang Ya was sitting on the couch, having been sent back under pressure not long ago, and was visibly shaken.

Seeing Lu Jin, she hurriedly stood and approached him, "How could you send him to District A! His body has a bomb implanted in it, a bomb!"

Districts A and C were referred to as pig pens, where all humans were injected with a tracker, which also had an explosive feature.

This was well known among everyone in District B, as they were superior beings who were not injected with it.

Knowing that Lu Chen had arrived, she had been looking forward to a family reunion daily, but the reality shattered her completely.

As she confronted Lu Jin with these questions, he simply pulled out a gun and pressed it against her forehead.
