Chapter 383 - 382: Treasure Bag

Chapter 383: Chapter 382: Treasure Bag

This scene...

If you ignore that it’s a deadly weapon, it’s really quite bizarre.

Su Mo looked at Lu Chen, her expression on the verge of tears, "Have I turned into a monster? I’m just a speed superpower user, what is this thing?"

The man came over from the door, lifted her arm, where the existing energy was even higher than her own, and even surpassed him.

His finger only lightly touched the top of the leaf and immediately a blood mark appeared.

Su Mo quickly shrank back, trying to change her arm back, and this energy was very responsive to her command. The wood vine retracted back into her skin, leaving her arm smooth and unblemished.

Lu Chen thought for a moment and said, "Is it that Crystal Stone?"

Only a stone of Level 6 could contain such a force that surpassed his own.

Su Mo lowered her head, touching her abdomen, the green Energy Group there indeed felt like some of it had been absorbed. She looked at her hand again, had it all been absorbed into it?

"Logically, absorbing different types of Crystal Stones shouldn’t lead to a mutation," Su Mo waved her hand, stirring up a strong gust of wind.

"It’s been living in the Dark River for a long time, absorbing energies that have mutated, which could explain this."

Of course, all this was just Lu Chen’s speculation.

This energy didn’t cause Su Mo any discomfort, so she temporarily put her mind at ease, and even said, "Maybe I can make use of this."

She now had upgraded, and the energy in her right hand could be used as that of a Level 6. If used properly, it could be a very effective weapon.

The man sat down beside her, passing her a towel to wipe her hands, stained with the juice from the corned beef can, and took hold of her long black hair, whispering, "It’s too long."

That’s when Su Mo noticed that her hair had grown long. She didn’t really care, "I’ll cut it later, it’s getting in the way of my movements."

"I’ll do it."

Su Mo wiped her hands and turned her head slightly, "You’re going to cut it for me?"

No sooner had she spoken than she caught sight of the scissors in his hand from the corner of her eye.

She was somewhat skeptical that she’d be left with a buzz cut. The man behind her was precise with his blades and guns, never an accident, but this task didn’t seem quite right for him.

But seeing the glint of interest in his eyes, she let him proceed.

A cluster of hair, reaching below her waist, was seized in his hand, and the sound of the falling strands rustled by her ear.

Meanwhile, Su Mo opened her panel and clicked on the two special gift packages.

[Congratulations on receiving the Treasure Bag reward*1]

[Congratulations on receiving, upgrade of Cooking Skill Level reward]

Su Mo’s eyes lit up, Skill Level!

While Lu Chen was cutting her hair, she chose to upgrade the Skill Level of Jasmine Tea.

[Confirm upgrade?]

[Yes]

[Upgrade successful, the original status bonus for Jasmine Tea was 35%, now increased to the maximum of 50%]

"Success!" Su Mo exclaimed joyfully, immediately brewing a cup of Jasmine Tea.

With a 50% superpower recovery rate, even the tea that was brewed carried an even richer scent of jasmine.

Her long hair was trimmed back to shoulder-length, and he carefully used his hand as a comb to ensure it was even, then tied it up high with a cherry hair tie.

Su Mo reached back and then smiled, "Nice handiwork."

The man left a kiss on her neck, gazing at the tea in front of her, "Upgraded?"

"It’s reached the limit, can recover half of the energy in one go," Su Mo blew on the steaming tea and brought it to his lips, "Want to try?"

The man obediently took a sip and praised, "Indeed not bad, it has increased quickly."

The wave of energy rising from his lower abdomen, continuously warming his belly, was quite comfortable.

"We should make more, it might come in handy."

On their way here, they had emptied many bottles, and now was the perfect time for a refill.

Lu Chen had no objections, sitting quietly beside her, watching her busily at work, occasionally helping her pour tea.

After all was done, the sky began to show a hint of light, Su Mo stretched lazily and checked the thing called Treasure Bag on the panel, which seemed very mini, just a vegetable basket used for holding vegetables.

When she touched its status, her initially sleepy face froze.

It wasn’t a status bonus, it was capable of storing any living things except for humans, starting at 5, and automatically adding to her System Bag.

Who would have thought her system even had such a heaven-defying attribute!

Startled, Su Mo suddenly stood up, her voice trembling slightly, "Lu Chen!"

"Hmm?" The man stood up, puzzled by her excitement, "What’s wrong?"

Su Mo looked at him, "Let’s go find a rat!"

The man frowned, "What do you want with that thing?"

"Can your Space store living creatures?!" She gazed at him with wide eyes.

He shook his head, vaguely guessing what she meant, "What are you getting at?"

"I might be able to!" Su Mo pulled on his arm, careful not to use too much strength and break it, she pulled him out the door with less force on her right hand.

Outside the door, corpses they had killed lay scattered around. It took Su Mo searching through five floors before she found a wheelchair-bound zombie locked in a bathroom stall that had been overlooked.

It had no ability to move, and when the door opened, it fell out face up.

Su Mo didn’t make a move, instead, she stepped back a few paces, activated the panel, and used the vegetable basket, which turned into a white light directly after appearing in front of her, adding it to a slot in her System Bag, distinct from the other slots with a faint white glow.

She crouched down, her hand tentatively touching the zombie’s back, and with a thought, the entire zombie disappeared into thin air, turning into a miniature figure in her System Bag.

Lu Chen, witnessing her sequence of actions, was equally astounded. Storing living creatures, that was indeed a first.

Su Mo tested and threw the zombie out just as it was before, still clawing and attempting to bite her.

She stood up, dusting off her hands, a smile curling on her lips, and a hint of danger in her big eyes, "We might just have sufficient backup now."

Lu Chen formed an Ice Blade in his hand and pierced it through the zombie’s head, "It’s still early, let’s go back to sleep for a bit."

Having been up all night, Su Mo felt her fatigue creeping back after the initial excitement, she nodded in agreement.

Back in the office, Lu Chen took out a sleeping bag and spread it on the floor. Although it was broad daylight, they needed enough time to rest.

By noon, the two had a fairly decent meal, and Su Mo specifically prepared several dishes to pack into her System Bag. Once they were ready, Lu Chen pulled out a map and said, "We should move soon, can’t delay any longer."

Su Mo looked up at him and asserted, "Let’s go."

Both were well aware that the longer they took, the more danger Jiang Yulian and the others would be in.

Looking far into the distance from the top of the office building, the road stretching out ahead was starting to fill with yellow dust. The Western Region, where they were, was supposed to be a plateau, a place with vast grasslands.
