Empress fired a shot and missed, the bullet gouged a groove in the floor. By the time she looked for her target again, Su Mo had already moved from her original position, reappearing a few meters in front of the Empress and was successfully intercepted in time.

Left with no choice, Su Mo was forced to take a few steps back.

"It’s about there," Ling Ye had been diligently tracking Su Mo’s figure, but now his gaze turned towards the two men writhing in pain after receiving his blood.

Two doctors had already arrived and, in their panic, were about to transport the men out of the hall.

"You little brat, what do you mean ’it’s about there’?" Zhao Changsheng and Jianxiong protected Ling Ye and Jiang Yulian so tightly on each side.

The blue light around Ling Ye’s eyes grew increasingly bright, overpowering all the colorful superpowers in the darkness with its strange luminescence.

The two doctors, in their confusion, were giving Old Dao and another person a tranquilizer injection, but they quickly noticed something odd. When the hand in a rubber glove touched Old Dao’s arm, it felt several bulging lumps.

One doctor, curious, poked inside one lump until he felt his gloved fingertips become slippery. A liquid squirted out from the lump and sprayed right onto his face.

Unable to see clearly, he fell on his butt and someone stepped on his hand, causing him to cry out in pain.

Su Mo noticed the commotion and saw, thanks to her night-vision eyes, that Old Dao’s body lying on the ground was rapidly swelling. A milky white worm, punctured and slow-moving, eventually burrowed into the back of the hand of the screaming doctor.

Soon, Old Dao and the other man’s bodies swelled nearly to their limits, their skin turning transparent with liquid and worms filling them up.

The two doctors, realizing something was horribly wrong, scrambled up and dashed outside, their faces twisted in terror, screaming hysterically, "Monsters! Monsters! Monsters! Run!"

Empress, from her seat, took advantage of the superpowers’ light to see clearly the two nearly spherical, swollen men on the ground; seeing worms crawl in and out through their pale eyes, she nearly collapsed, her tone more fearful than ever, "They are demons! They are demons! Use fire! Burn those two quickly."

Three advanced level superpower users, two had been decisively killed by Lu Chen, and Su Mo on her side had also dealt deadly blows. Protected by an outer fur coat, she didn’t sustain any injuries, except for some scrapes on her face from dodging attacks.

Both were continuously gathering towards Li Qian and the others.

When the emergency lights turned on, most of the people attacking them stopped, their eyes flooding with emotions of terror and astonishment.

In that moment, Old Dao and the other man, after their bodies swelled, had heads that seemed abnormally tiny, barely hanging on their necks. Their clothes were torn apart by their stretched skin, and pus-filled blisters had mostly burst, scattering yellow liquid and several wriggling worms across the floor.

"What is that!"

"My God! What is that demon!"

"We actually brought back a monster!"

While the crowd’s attention was diverted, Lu Chen eyed Su Mo up and down to make sure she wasn’t hurt. After confirming, his expression visibly relaxed, then he lowered his head to look at Ling Ye, "Did you do this?"

Ling Ye looked up, glanced at Su Mo and then at Lu Chen, he nodded hesitantly but confessed truthfully, "Yes, it was me."

Lu Chen rarely rubbed his hair and praised in a cold voice, "Well done."

Ling Ye raised a smile, tugging at the corner of his coat, and said, "I can control them, they won’t hurt you."

Su Mo, supporting her knees, bent down to his level and followed with praise, "Great job, but be careful with it."

Ling Ye nodded again, solemnly promising.

"We should leave," Li Qian said, putting on the glasses he hadn’t worn for days. He then bent down to pick up Ling Ye, "The creatures penned up by the cave have come out."

No sooner had he finished speaking than a loud lion’s roar sounded from far to near. Su Mo, hearing this noise, knew there was more than one.

She immediately said, "Go!"

The group didn’t care about the people in the hall and rushed outside with all their might. Held by Li Qian, Ling Ye saw some people attempting to chase after them. He made a "pop" with his small mouth.

Old Dao and others, already grotesquely disfigured, exploded with a "bang."

Not far from the door, two bodies in white lab coats were torn apart by four lions, splattering chunks of flesh.

"Follow me," Lu Chen, with the giant Ice Shield in his hands, charged ahead and led the team into the jungle on a stone-paved path.

"Save me save me save me! Don’t come over! No no no!" A woman’s frenzied cries kept assaulting Su Mo’s eardrums. As she ran, she couldn’t help but look back.

It was that madwoman who wouldn’t let her eat the canned food. The louder she screamed, the more zombies gathered around her. Finally, a lion took the lead, clamping its jaws around her neck. Its massive head pulled back and forth, ripping her flesh and bones apart. Her expression was frozen in terror, creating an arc in the air before it smashed to the ground.

After witnessing her end, Su Mo sheathed her Tang Blade and ran even faster, leaping into the bushes.

The Empress saw the group’s tracks, surveyed the chaotic surroundings, and as a lion with red eyes lifted its head from a pile of flesh, its crimson tongue licking its blood-stained jaw, she shuddered, "Down the mountain! Quickly!"

"No, we can’t go, there are demons coming up too!" A superpower user beside her was sweating profusely, his spiritual power detecting the dense swarm of zombies rushing up the mountain base made his heart almost leap into his throat.

The Empress thought for only a few seconds before sweeping her wide robes and pointing towards the direction where Su Mo and others had dived into the bushes, "Follow them!"
