Chapter 341: Chapter 340: Dispute

"Not happy?" The man kissed her neck, and the hand pressing against her stomach began to get restless.

Overwhelmed by his actions, Su Mo’s thoughts flew away as she blushed and grabbed his hand, "I’m not unhappy, stop it."

"Tell me, why are you not happy?" The man’s hand did not stop, and neither did his actions with his mouth, insisting she give a reason.

Su Mo held his hand and, biting her lip, spoke two words, "Child."

Lu Chen stopped his hand and instead lifted her chin, his thumb softly caressing it, his tone deep, "You want to have a child for me?"

Su Mo avoided his gaze and shook her head decisively, "No."

She wrested her chin from his hand and buried herself in his arms, murmuring, "Just look at Ling Ye and Yang Yichu, I feel so heartbroken, I don’t want our children to end up like that."

Su Mo’s concerns were also on his mind.

Lu Chen stroked her hair, looking at the sunlight scattering outside the house, and softly said, "It won’t come to that."

The two remained in bed for a while before they got up and went downstairs.

Su Mo cooked the meal herself, and impulsively, she opened the recipe she regarded as a death sentence, "Pearl Sticky Rice Lotus Root Meatballs."

Standing in the kitchen, she briefly checked the ingredients, fetched the ingredients and set them aside, simmered a pot of thin porridge, and then called for Lu Chen, "Get me some pork, and feed the porridge to Ling Ye."

"Hmm," Lu Chen took out a not-so-small piece of pork, picked up the bowl, and headed to the children’s room.

Jiang Yulian carried the child and followed him in, "I’ll watch over him."

Zhao Changsheng squeezed into the open kitchen, watching Su Mo take out a section of lotus root and examining it, "What are you making today?"

Without sticky rice, Su Mo simply washed some regular rice and soaked it. Knowing the result wouldn’t meet her expectations, she didn’t react but just said, "This isn’t for you to eat."

"Not eating?" Zhao Changsheng leaned nearby. She wasn’t so enthusiastic about food but curiously asked, "Then what’s the use of making it?"

Su Mo continued cutting the pork on the cutting board, added some ginger and scallions, and minced the mixture. Then she leisurely said, "It’s for attracting zombie hatred."

Zhao Changsheng choked, suddenly feeling that the red and white minced meat seemed dangerous. She silently stepped back two paces, "I’ll pass."

Su Mo smiled with a twinkle in her eye; actually, the process was quite simple. She could figure out the seasoning even by herself, and it might be better if Su Niang were still here.

Thinking of this, her smile faded, and she started to cook seriously.

After marinating the chopped meat, she placed the soaked rice in a bowl, shaping the meat into balls which she then rolled in it.

However, since the rice type was different, it was hard to stick, and the appearance was far from perfect.

Su Mo didn’t mind, as the dish wasn’t meant for her own consumption; she just needed to produce a certain effect.

Once the meatballs were rolled, she immediately took out a pot, set up a couple of chopsticks in it, called Jiang Yulian to pour some cold water in, and placed the plated meatballs in the pot, then covered it with a lid.

"When we go out, I’ll make you lobster," Su Mo said, wiping her hands and taking out a flat bottomed pan, planning to make a few side dishes.

"Lobster?" Zhao Changsheng, who was idly nearby, immediately lit up, "That would go perfectly with wine."

Su Mo glanced at her with amusement, "If we had a totally safe place, you could drink to your heart’s content."

In her fishpond, she had raised many lobsters, now ripe for the picking, but they couldn’t be taken out now—as they smelled too strong.

After making a few of the side dishes she often made, and with the rice finally cooked, Lu Chen returned with an empty bowl just as Su Mo called him to eat.

"This child hasn’t been able to eat well recently, I think his stomach has even shrunk," Jiang Yulian said with concern, cradling the child as she sat down.

Su Mo set up the bowls and chopsticks. "Let’s eat first."

After the meal, she turned off the heat under the nearly ready Pearl Sticky Rice Lotus Root Meatballs.

After removing the plate with a towel in hand, the screen refreshed.

Su Mo turned off the screen and glanced at the meatballs, almost all the rice falling out, and pursed her lips; okay, their appearance was somewhat unappealing.

She stored the dish into her System Bag, started washing the dishes, and soon their door was knocked on. It was Li Ming, who came to say that Li Yun was inviting them to a farewell dinner that evening.

This doesn’t sound like good news at all.

After the visitor left, Su Mo said, "I suspect they’ve already reached an agreement with the people at the radio station."

Zhao Changsheng asked, "What do we do tonight?"

Su Mo wasn’t too worried, "Before we go, everyone should drink a bowl of Hot and Sour Pork Tripe Soup. It’s impossible to reject the taste; if there’s something in the food, it won’t make it into our stomachs."

"What about Ling Ye?" Jiang Yulian stood outside the children’s room and peered inside, "Should we take this child with us too?"

Their primary target was Ling Ye. At this point, Su Mo faced a dilemma. To bring him directly would be to reveal that they knew the other party’s intention. If they were to have a confrontation in the epidemic prevention zone, they might end up severely injured.

After pondering for a while, Li Qian said, "Take him to He Fei’s place."

"Good idea," Su Mo’s eyes lit up. Although the superpower users there weren’t very high level, they were not few in number either.

"Go and pack all the luggage just in case," Su Mo said as she climbed the stairs, "Don’t leave anything behind, pass it to Lu Chen to keep it safe."

...

Early today, Mu Rou made a trip to the unfinished building, where numerous students were working in the field, either changing the straw in the sheep pen or scattering feed in the artificially created pond.

Several armed, strong men were overseeing the site.

Mu Rou didn’t alert anyone and headed straight for the dwelling of the boy they had interrogated the other day.

On the third floor of the unfinished building, the smell was pungent, with straws and blankets scattered across the floor, indicating a poor living condition.

Having been there once before, she went straight to a mat.

The mat and blanket, indistinguishable from others, was where Mu Rou knelt down and began a careful examination, eventually finding some food crumbs on the floor. She took a closer look and realized they were bread crumbs.

Such delicacies, they couldn’t possibly have access to them.

Mu Rou stood up, her expression cooled, and hurried downstairs, dragging a man who was joking around away from the grounds.

As expected, she was stopped by the group of armed, strong men, and the argument between them escalated, becoming quite heated.
