Chapter 302: Chapter 300: Encirclement

After finishing these tasks, her fur coat was caked with blood, so she took it off and asked Jiang Yulian for a basin of water to scrub it.

Once the coat was clean and dried, she put it on, and a few of them formed a circle and sat on the ground.

Soon, it would be daylight.

From time to time, sounds of crying and blades piercing skulls drifted up from downstairs.

Su Mo didn’t feel like sleeping any longer and had Lu Chen pull over several rows of shelves to enclose their group, then she took out a tea set and brewed a pot, first making powdered milk for Jiang Yulian’s child and then ginger tea to warm everybody up.

With the shelves secured tightly, Guo Hua, who had been in a corner, couldn’t see what they were doing.

Lu Chen also brought out some rice balls and canned meat to eat.

They all had a good, satisfying meal, and Ling Ye, overwhelmed by exhaustion, promptly lay down on the ground and fell asleep; Su Mo was concerned he might catch cold and added a sleeping bag underneath him.

They rested briefly for about three or four hours.

The sky began to brighten slowly.

Downstairs there was a stir; it was time to get ready to leave.

Su Mo stood up, stretched herself and went to check on Mu Rou, who was lying to the side, unsure if she was alive or dead. When Su Mo touched her nose, she still felt breath; she then touched her face, "She’s alright, she won’t die."

"She’s made it through? This girl really has nine lives," Jiang Yulian couldn’t help but sigh looking at the gruesome sight of her half-battered face.

Mu Rou’s eyelids moved to the sound of the conversation by her ear, and she actually woke up, "Mm..."

Her left eye throbbed painfully; she tried to open her mouth, and it took all her strength to utter a single raspy word, "Water..."

Noticing her movement, Jiang Yulian quickly knelt beside her while holding her child, squeezed water from her finger into Mu Rou’s mouth.

Like a baby drinking milk, she desperately sucked the sweet water from the fingertips until water bubbled from her mouth, and only then did Jiang Yulian pull her hand away to wash her fingers.

Seeing her awake, Su Mo asked Zhao Changsheng to call over He Fei to carry the girl away.

He Rong, who had come up with them, almost collapsed, but Li Qian quickly gave her a hand, softly saying, "Happy to see your friend awake?"

He Rong made eye contact with the man’s eyes behind the glasses and couldn’t help but feel a shiver run down her spine. She shook off his hand and defiantly said, "Of course I’m happy that Rou Rou is awake."

He Fei took Mu Rou downstairs, and He Rong hurried after them.

Her ghost-like expression brightened Su Mo’s morning mood significantly. She woke Ling Ye, and after they packed their things, they all went downstairs together.

Guo Hua was also downstairs, leaning against the wall with his gun, listening to the arguing amongst the students.

The first floor was like a flea market, and with a quick glance, Su Mo estimated that nearly 200 people had survived; the survival rate was quite high.

Ding Yan and two female teachers were surrounded in the middle, arguing vehemently with some of the ordinary students, while some of the injured superpower users all had unpleasant expressions.

Su Mo stood beside Lu Chen, perking up her ears to listen to the conversation and quickly understood the gist of it.

They were actually debating over who got to sit in the cars on the way to the ’essence factory.’

The cars had been found by He Fei and his group; there were only five in total, and they were usually used by superpower users for missions.

Now, the ordinary students were not happy. In their view, since superpower users were very powerful, they should let the weaker ones take the seats in the cars.

The typical might-makes-right theory.

"Lu Chen, they... haven’t learned anything from last night," Su Mo couldn’t help but be speechless.

The man didn’t pay attention to these things, instead taking her hand and walking outside, his voice cold as ice, "It’s none of our concern."

Indeed, it had nothing to do with them. These ordinary students had been spoiled so much by He Fei and the others that they acted lawlessly, and to some extent, they had brought it upon themselves.

Ever since Su Mo entered the school, all she had seen was these superpower users and teachers thinking about the students, always putting them first, only to end up injured and feeling guilty for something as innocent as taking a seat on a vehicle.

Lu Chen got the car ready, ignoring the various noises inside. After fueling up, he let Jiang Yulian and Ling Ye get in the car first.

In Li Qian’s mind, a map unfolded, and soon he said, "Their noise is too loud."

"Are the zombies coming?" Zhao Changsheng was eager to do something.

Li Qian pointed across the street at a museum opposite the supermarket. Separated by a road that wasn’t too spacious, the museum occupied a huge area, set in the middle of a large lawn bent under the weight of the snow and overgrown with tall weeds.

The entire building was made of steel structures and glass, shaped like a square glass box with sharp edges.

Su Mo looked in that direction, zooming in her vision, focusing on the glass.

She saw dense, countless zombie heads sticking to the entire glass wall, and she could also see the scratches that claws had made on the glass.

Su Mo: "A pane of glass is going to break; they’re about to come out."

Within the range of Li Qian’s superpower, dozens more red dots barged in. His expression grew serious, "Zombies are also coming from the direction of the school. Looks like they’re following the blood and scent, and they’re moving fast."

Su Mo withdrew her gaze, waved her knife, and shouted at the students still quarreling over who got to ride in the car, "Are we leaving or not? The zombies are coming."

The buzzing noise that annoyed her like flies finally got on her nerves.

When He Fei heard what she said, he couldn’t hold back any longer, "Enough! Injured superpower users and teachers, get on the bus. Any remaining seats can be for those among you who are injured."

"So we have to run! How can I outrun zombies?" A girl was already screaming in fear. She was only one meter fifty tall and particularly slender; it was a fluke she had survived the night before.

Her words resonated with many, and dissatisfaction grew among the crowd until He Fei released his powerful aura without any reservation, and the group of students finally complied.

They had all forgotten that these are not the times of old; no one will always indulge you, even the most kind-hearted people have their limits.

He Fei was the first to carry Mu Rou into the vehicle, urging injured superpower users to get in. The students crowded outside the car wore anxious expressions on their faces.

In Li Qian’s mind, the red dots were rapidly nearing.

In Su Mo’s ears, she could already hear the roaring sounds getting closer, and at the same time, the sound of shattering glass shattered entered everyone’s ears.

Within their line of sight, countless zombies tumbled out of the shattered windows of the art museum, piling up and falling to the ground like dumplings, kicking up dust, creating a spectacular scene.

The crowd instantly became restless.

Now, no matter how loudly He Fei yelled to maintain order, it was useless; everyone was desperately squeezing onto the bus.

Even the door of the car Su Mo was in was clawed at by many people trying to get in.

These people vividly illustrated the meaning of fear.

Lu Chen released his Level 5 aura, frightening off all the students.
