Chapter 279: Chapter 277: Stop Bleeding
They cleaned up several tables and pushed them together, and Su Mo brought over some chairs, settling everyone down.
Li Qian had scanned the entire building with his spiritual power and said, "There’s someone on the seventh floor."
Su Mo brought out the tea set and exchanged a few pieces of ginger from the marketplace, saying, "I saw him outside just now, he has a gun, he must be the guard."
Zhao Changsheng leaned in close to her, watching her peel the ginger and curiously asked, "Momo, what are you making?"
Su Mo’s expression was a bit mysterious, "You’ll know in a bit."
She then took a jar of black tea from the System Bag. Back in Sheng City, she had collected quite a variety of teas, including this one.
That long-forgotten ginger tea, now was the time to put it to use.
She boiled the water, directly putting the sliced ginger and the tea bag into the cup, and then poured a pot of hot water over them.
The panel refreshed.

"No time limit," Su Mo picked up the tea cup, smelled it, and then sneakily handed it to Lu Chen beside her, "Quick, try it."
Her eyes, bright and clear as a doe’s, were unmistakably filled with anticipation. Lu Chen’s throat moved as he took the cup and sipped, hearing a prompt by his ear, his face instantly darkening.
At the same time, Su Mo was shocked to discover that her man had indeed gotten younger!
She fondly pinched his face, although the facial lines were still stern, the skin had not only become whiter but also surprisingly pleasant to touch.
"Nice stuff!" Su Mo withdrew her hand, excitedly brewed several more cups and placed them in front of Li Qian and the others, "Quick, try it."
Li Qian hesitated a bit, picked up the cup and sniffed, then looked towards Lu Chen, as if asking what the effect was.
Lu Chen, with a wooden expression, said, "Try it, it’s pretty good."
After everyone took a sip, they simultaneously received a prompt, except for Li Qian, who also turned a dark face, Zhao Changsheng didn’t react much, while Jiang Yulian, especially gracious, said to Su Mo, "Nice stuff!"
Ling Ye on the side, after thinking for a moment, also appeared a bit embarrassed, muttered, "It’s something for girls."
"Right," Su Mo didn’t mind, poured another cup for Jiang Yulian, then gulped down a whole cup herself, and brought her face close to Lu Chen, "See if I’ve gotten younger."
Lu Chen glanced down at her, that cute face trying to be adorable before him, eyes sparkling, skin smooth, lips... tempting.
He suddenly turned his head, tugged at his collar, and replied softly, "Hmm."
Su Mo poured herself another cup, the hot ginger tea warming her stomach, and she contentedly squinted her eyes, "This sip of hot tea even chases away a bit of the cold."
This point, they all couldn’t deny.
As they sat and chatted for a while, sounds came from the corridor outside, Su Mo waved her hand, packed up the tea set, and faced six people coming towards them, both men and women.
The classroom they were in had not the curtains drawn, passersby threw glances their way.
"The new ones?"
"I heard from the guard that a new group has arrived, quite formidable, best not cause trouble."
"Of course."
The students appeared somewhat cautious, but after taking a quick glance at them, they entered the classroom next to theirs.
Someone was in the classroom next door, and Lu Chen had only brought out some canned vegetables at noon. Jiang Yulian had stored some cups of water for everyone, which served as their lunch.
By the afternoon, the snow had not stopped, and there seemed to be an increasing trend.
Jiang Yulian’s child had woken up, and it was precisely the time for feeding. To avoid any concerns, Li Qian went out into the hallway, while Zhao Changsheng lay his head down on the desk and slept.
Su Mo moved a stool and sat next to Lu Chen by the window to enjoy the snowy scene.
She had both of her hands covered in his palms. Su Mo turned her head and asked curiously, "With your Ice Ability, do you not feel cold now?"
"I do, but it’s not that severe," Lu Chen replied.
Su Mo nodded and did not say more, leaning on his shoulder, she began to doze off.
Outside, within the range of Li Qian’s spiritual power, a fluctuation occurred; he looked towards the school’s entrance. Another group of students had returned, but the snowy ground was splattered with red bloodstains.
He stepped back and returned to the classroom, "Some have returned injured."
Su Mo, who was almost asleep leaning on Lu Chen, immediately sat up and became alert, "Injured?"
At times like these, injuries meant potential encounters with mutants.
Su Mo and Lu Chen stood up and walked to the window. From the staircase came the sound of their ascent, filled with panic and agonized wailing.
Those people were isolated in the classroom to their left.
Zhao Changsheng propped himself up from the table, yawned, and crossed his legs, "Now we’ve got people on both sides."
"Should we go have a look?" Li Qian asked Lu Chen.
"Let’s have a look." He opened the classroom door and walked out.
Su Mo followed behind, peering through the window on the corridor side and taking in the entire scene inside.
In the classroom, three blood-covered people were laid flat on the ground by their companions; one of them was severely injured with a scratch that nearly tore open his entire chest.
Conversations arose inside.
"What injured you?!"
"Don’t.. don’t know, it was like a bear! It was too massive!"
"It was a Polar Bear! I couldn’t have mistaken it, it was definitely that thing!"
He Fei also rushed down from upstairs, seeing his comrades’ injuries. He immediately removed the handgun from his body, took out some bullets and handed them to his comrades, "Get the gunpowder, hurry up!"
Su Mo, hearing their conversation, began to understand. She turned her head to look at Ling Ye, who was standing at their classroom door watching them, and whispered softly, "It looks like the creatures from the aquarium here have really escaped."
Lu Chen said coldly, "We’ll take turns keeping watch tonight."
Their isolated classroom was right in the middle, with isolated people on both sides. If mutations occurred at night, that could be troublesome.
Li Qian also thought of this, "I’ll watch the first half of the night then."
Hearing their conversation, Su Mo focused her attention on the students fiddling with the bullets, "What are they doing? Killing somebody?"
Lu Chen: "The gunpowder stops bleeding."
"Stops bleeding?" Su Mo was surprised.
The man explained in a low voice, "His wound is too large; this is the fastest way to stop the bleeding."
The male student processed the gunpowder from several bullets and sprinkled the gunpowder on the scratched chest. Flames sparked from his fingertips, directly igniting the gunpowder on the skin.
Instantly, a series of small sparks burst, and the injured man cried out in pain and fainted, his eyes rolling back as the air filled with a mix of blood and the scent of roasting meat.
Su Mo blinked; though it was gory, the wound indeed stopped bleeding.
