Chapter 259: Chapter 257: Level 3 Mutated Bull

Su Mo lay down at the window, and what first came into view was a wall splattered with brain matter and blood. Below that, a middle-aged couple sat on the sofa, both missing the back of their heads, and a revolver lay abandoned on the floor.

She straightened up, her eyes filled with pity, "Kick the door in, they’re all dead."

"I’ll do it," Jian Qing said with eagerness.

Su Mo turned to look at him just as Jian Qing rolled up his sleeves looking keen. He clenched his hand into a fist, smashed it against the door lock, and immediately the handle came off completely and fell to the floor.

His hand was cut by the edge of the handle.

Under everyone’s gaze, the bloody wound miraculously retracted and healed in an instant, as good as new.

Extremely powerful healing power!

Jin Han could not hide the surprise in his eyes, "Brother, your superpower is impressive."

Jian Qing scratched his head and humbly said, "It’s all thanks to the medicine."

"Let’s go in," Lu Chen led the way into the house.

"Everyone look around and see if there’s anything worth scavenging," Su Mo said.

"You guys look inside this building. I’ll take some people outside to see where the Mutant Bulls have gone," Jin Han didn’t want so many people searching one house, and Su Mo didn’t insist, simply saying, "Call us if there’s trouble, we’ll back you up."

"Got it."

The couple had died in the small living room on the right, separate from the main area. Su Mo didn’t go in but looked around the place.

"Momo!" Zhao Changsheng pried open a door and shouted at her excitedly.

Su Mo walked over. At the corner near the staircase, there was a door leading to an underground storeroom, from which a chill was emanating.

"This must be the ranch’s cellar," Li Qian came over, his spiritual power expanding, and then he said, "There’s nothing out of the ordinary below."

The word ’cellar’ caught Su Mo’s attention. She turned to Lu Chen, who was looking into the small living room, and called out, "Lu Chen, come quick!"

The man retracted his gaze, closed the door, and walked over at a measured pace. "Let’s go down and have a look."

The darkness of the basement was as clear as day to Su Mo, and she took the lead and went down.

Lu Chen pulled out a couple of flashlights and tossed them to Zhao Changsheng and Li Qian before following down the steps.

The temperature was quite low underground, but that didn’t stop Su Mo from weaving between one barrel and another.

She opened a bung, and the sour stench that welled up made her quickly replace it.

"It’s stored milk, but I guess it’s all gone bad now."

"So much for getting our hopes up," Zhao Changsheng held the flashlight and swept it around, his fox-like eyes filled with disappointment and frustration.

Li Qian moved over to another set of shelves. "Not necessarily."

"What?" Zhao Changsheng shone the flashlight in his face, the gold frame of his glasses turning white in the light.

Li Qian squinted to avoid the light and pointed at the shelves, "Take a look here."

Su Mo walked over and picked up a large sealed bag of jerky, her voice filled with delight, "Beef jerky! This is good stuff."

"Take it, take it," she couldn’t wait to pull Lu Chen over, "Quick, pack it up! There’s so much we could eat till next year."

The man rubbed the top of her head and as she instructed, collected an entire shelf’s worth of beef jerky.

Li Qian’s mind rippled with spiritual power, and his gentle voice took on a hint of sternness, "Something’s coming this way, eight of them."

Upstairs, a burst of intense gunfire erupted.

Su Mo’s smile vanished in an instant, her face turning serious, "Go!"

They ran out of the cellar and rushed outside where dry grass lay, Jin Han had sliced all the tall grass within a half-mile radius around him with Wind Blades, and eight Mutant Bulls had surrounded them.

Their hides were still relatively intact, the horns on their heads, originally artificially cut, now stood tall above their ears, steam sprayed from their snouts as their massive bodies loomed.

Li Qian adjusted his glasses and said in a gentle voice, "Level 3 Mutated Bulls, we’re in luck; these beasts must weigh over five hundred pounds each."

Su Mo, holding her Tang Blade, bristled with eagerness, "Then what are we waiting for, go!"

She took the lead, transforming into a fleeting afterimage as she charged forth, Lu Chen’s lips curved in a slight smile, a chill of frost setting in around him as he followed her steps.

Zhao Changsheng unleashed his Thunder Whip, his wrist enveloped in Thunder, his enthusiasm palpable, "Quick, quick, if we’re any later Jin Han will have killed them all."

Li Qian replied calmly, "No, he won’t."

Jin Han was clearly struggling with the eight bulls, especially since he had a soldier by his side who could only shoot, requiring a teammate to allocate some of their focus to protect him.

Su Mo, brandishing her blade, charged toward one of the bulls with full threatening presence.

The Level 3 Mutated Bull, sensing her murderous intent, scraped its hooves on the ground and charged towards her, its sharp horns aimed directly at her.

Between her and the bull, a massive Ice Shield formed, shattering into chunks as the bull’s horn struck it, and in the next second Su Mo was airborne, her Tang Blade chopping down onto its horn.

The dark, patterned, sturdy horn was cleanly severed, and with one hand on the beast’s head, Su Mo nimbly flipped onto its back.

The Mutant Bull bucked wildly, but with a deft backhand slash, Su Mo’s blade pierced down the nape of its neck, protruding from its jaw.

All movement ceased with that single blow, and the Mutant Bull’s enormous body toppled to one side.

Su Mo leapt off, and right behind her was another attacking Mutant Bull, which hadn’t yet reached her when tiny Crystal shards sliced it and its hide into chunks of flesh.

Su Mo stood up, Lu Chen was not far behind her—not having moved a step, and the bull was dead.

She couldn’t help but marvel at the difference between physical attacks and magical attacks—it was just so vast.

Meanwhile, Li Qian kept control over the bulls, and Zhao Changsheng was even more direct, his Thunder Whip and Thunder Balls electrocuting the Mutant Bulls into roast beef, blackening the copious dry grass around them.

Seeing this, Su Mo couldn’t help but cry out in pain, "Don’t char it, will you! What a waste!"

Zhao Changsheng stopped whipping immediately and turned his head to throw her a charming glance, "Got it."

With their involvement, three of the eight bulls were quickly eliminated.

Jian Qing, left on his own, wanted to help too, but being the weakest, he mustered the courage to confront a Mutant Bull that had set its sights on him.

The battle on Jin Han’s side hadn’t ended, and Su Mo chose not to intervene, instead observing Jian Qing.

Lu Chen stood by her side.

"What do you think? If he gets seriously injured, will he be able to recover?" Su Mo suddenly asked.

"Let’s wait and see," replied Lu Chen, his face expressionless, showing no intention of helping.

Jian Qing tried to grab the Mutant Bull’s horn to stop its charge but was thrown into a pile of dry grass due to the disparity in strength, the bull’s hoof aimed at his heart ready to stomp.

"Help me! Miss Su! Save me!"

The tall dry grass obscured his sight as he screamed in despair.

Hearing his shouts, Su Mo gave Li Qian a knowing look.

Burgeoning spiritual power wrapped around the Mutant Bull’s body like threads, and the hoof that should have crushed his heart suddenly changed direction, stomping directly into his abdomen.
