The Chef Rules the Last Days
Chapter 249 - 247: Confession

Chapter 249: Chapter 247: Confession

Lu Youwei exploded in rage, "If we give it to them now, we’ll be left with nothing!"

Lu Jin raised his eyes, mocking, "No, those who will have nothing won’t be us."

"You’re thinking of tampering with the original body?" Lu Youwei looked at him suspiciously.

But Lu Jin stopped talking, simply lowering his gaze to look at the scars on his palm.

...

When she awoke again, it was already noon, and the clothes on Su Mo’s body had long been changed to clean ones.

She rubbed her slightly swollen eyes from crying, and what caught her sight was the scratch marks on the man’s chest.

She couldn’t help feeling a bit suffocated; the effects of Biluochun Tea were indeed utilized to the fullest by this person.

However... her eyes softened, he was already hers, indulging him occasionally was still acceptable.

"Satisfied with your masterpiece?" A lazy voice with a magnetic quality sounded.

The man’s warm breath tickled the top of her head, followed by a kiss.

Su Mo raised her eyes, bit his chin, and threatened softly, "Don’t you think you should restrain your brother a little?"

"He has endured for a long time," Lu Chen lifted her up slightly, his cool fingers caressing her face, his phoenix eyes filled with tenderness.

Su Mo couldn’t withstand his gaze; she dropped her temper and nestled closer into his embrace, "From now on, will it be just the two of us?"

"Yes, just you."

Su Mo’s heart tingled, and she seemed to soften considerably at his words. She was quiet for a good while before finally saying, "Tell me how you came back."

The man’s chin knocked on the top of her head, his lazy voice slowly recounting.

It turned out, after he sank into the sea that day, a large underwater wave happened to appear, flipping the steel plate over, and he was washed to an unknown dense forest, along with Sun Cheng.

Both of them encountered a level 5 black bear on their way back to the base.

After killing the bear and sustaining serious injuries, it was Sun Cheng who brought him back.

Sun Cheng didn’t know that Su Mo had survived that disaster, and that led to Jiang Hai taking advantage and sealing his memories.

Listening to him talk about it as if it was no big deal, Su Mo realized the danger involved and hugged him tighter, sighing with relief, "Thank goodness you’re alright."

"And you?" Lu Chen brushed her hair behind her ear, revealing most of her cheek.

Su Mo pondered for a moment, then looked up at him, "It might sound bizarre, but you have to listen to the end without getting angry."

"All right."

Su Mo organized her thoughts and then laid out the whole story of how she got entangled with Lu Jin, not omitting a single detail. She didn’t want any unnecessary misunderstandings about this person to arise with Lu Chen in the future.

"That’s about it, the effect of the flagellated algae is truly miraculous," she nuzzled his chest, her voice as lazy and soft as a cat’s.

A flash of ruthlessness crossed Lu Chen’s eyes. He gently patted Su Mo’s back, his voice cool, "Stay away from him in the future, okay?"

"Okay."

A rumbling sound exploded in Su Mo’s stomach, and she rubbed her belly as she crawled out from his embrace, "I’ll make something to eat; let’s have lunch first."

"Okay," Lu Chen also sat up and draped a jacket over her shoulders.

The two of them went down to the washstand to brush their teeth together, and Su Mo even warmed up a towel to wipe his face. Standing on her tiptoes, she complained, "Why did you have to grow so tall?"

Amused by her ramblings, the man curled up the corner of his mouth, willingly bending down to enjoy her ministrations.

In the restroom, the two of them got affectionate for a while before Su Mo came out with a flushed face. She had bought some ingredients from the marketplace, placing them on the counter, while Lu Chen stood by her side, even helping her peel those potatoes.

The door was knocked on, and outside was Zhao Changsheng’s charmingly sweet voice.

"Just a moment!" Su Mo called out towards the door, then she hurried back to the room to tidy up the messy bed. After closing the bedroom door, she let Lu Chen open the front door.

"Momo, how are you feeling? How’s your health?" Zhao Changsheng bypassed Lu Chen and went straight to Su Mo, concern written all over her face.

"I’m fine, I’m fine. Did you time your visit for mealtime?" Su Mo glanced at Li Qian behind her, as well as Su Niang and Ling Ye.

"No," Zhao Changsheng shook her head, "It’s almost afternoon, we ate early in the morning."

Only then did Su Mo take note of the weather outside and suddenly understood; her cheeks grew hot, and she quickly invited them to sit at the little table outside.

"I’ll start cooking first, have a bite, everyone."

"I’ll help you," Su Niang said as she made to stand up.

Su Mo nudged Lu Chen’s waist, "You go and sit with them for now, don’t cause trouble with Zhao Changsheng. Be nice to her."

Lu Chen’s eyes darkened at her behavior of defending someone else in front of him, and he whispered in her ear, "Then tonight, I’ll need a reward."

Su Mo’s face turned scarlet, and biting her teeth, she pushed him towards the small living room, "Enough, they’re all here!"

Nobody noticed the small interlude between the two. Su Mo caught a couple of fish, and while opening the fishpond, she also took the chance to buy a batch of crayfish to throw in. Then, she browsed the marketplace and bought two recipes, spending two thousand points each.

"Su Niang, let’s try something new today, Scallion Crispy Pumpkin and Beef Soup," Su Mo decided on two new dishes, took out the rice cooker, and started washing three cups of rice to cook.

Su Niang smiled and nodded, "The Beef Soup is relatively simple to make, and it tastes good."

Su Mo followed the recipes she’d bought and purchased all the necessary ingredients. When it came to the meat, she paused and suddenly called out to Lu Chen, who sat upright in the living room, "Lu Chen, do you still have mutated meat in your space?"

The man looked back, stood up, and came over to hand her two pieces of mutated pork, "Is this enough?"

Beef Soup was made with beef, but pork was an acceptable substitute; it would be considered at worst a defective product. Su Mo took one piece, "This is enough, one piece will do."

The method for Scallion Crispy Pumpkin was simple: pour a generous amount of oil in the pan, add scallions, and fry until fragrant, then add the cleaned and chopped pumpkin and season. On the other hand, the process for making Beef Soup was a bit more involved.

Fortunately, since the recipes were now in her possession, the only issue was the length of the bonus time.

When the panel refreshed, the status updates fell within Su Mo’s expectations.

Su Mo pursed her lips at the abundance of twos, as if to say, who are you looking down on? After Su Niang carried the dishes out, Su Mo began working on the fish and a few other dishes they used to eat frequently. Only then did she call everyone to have their meal.
