Chapter 241: Chapter 239: Embrace the Washstand
She glanced at the sky outside, noticing there was still some time before dark, now would be the perfect time to head over.
After changing her clothes, Su Mo locked the door and walked out.
Just as she came out of the elevator, she bumped into Rong Bai who had just come in, equipped with a soldier’s gear.
The moment he saw her, he genuinely jumped in surprise, "Su Mo!"
She greeted him very calmly, "Long time no see, Rong Bai."
Rong Bai approached her excitedly and slapped her slender shoulder, "Weren’t you dead? Does Lu Chen know you’re back yet?"
"Hmm," Su Mo’s corner of the mouth twitched from his slap.
"It’s good you’re back; that kid’s temper has been unbearable this past month."
"You just got back from a mission?" Su Mo looked him up and down.
"Yeah, my superpower team is all here so I’ve been staying over," said Rong Bai with a smile.
Su Mo waved her hand, "Then you better get back. I’ve got things to do. We’ll talk another time."
Watching her walk away, Rong Bai’s expression was somewhat intriguing, "The Jiang Residence is going to get lively."
Once she left the building and passed the Inner Ring’s check, she directly picked up her pace using her superpower towards the direction of the villa.
Feeling the buildings whizzing by on both sides, Su Mo thought that her feet were far more effective than any vehicle.
Standing in front of the villa, the entrance was still guarded by two soldiers.
When they saw her again, they became much more respectful. After confirming her identity, they nearly bowed to let Su Mo in.
She used her key to open the door and walked in; inside it had been cleaned spotless, all the furniture was left undisturbed, just as it was originally.
Su Mo’s fingertips brushed over the large round table where they used to dine together. Her gaze dimmed slightly.
Now, one person was missing.
The small villa was very quiet, evidently the man hadn’t returned yet.
Su Mo finished inspecting the first floor and slowly made her way upstairs.
The first room she opened was the one they used to sleep in together; everything was kept just as it was, nothing had changed, except for a new work desk by the bed, filled with cigarette butts in the ashtray.
Su Mo walked over to the desk, which had some documents scattered over it. A familiar report caught her eye, and she picked it up to read through it. The pictures looked very similar to the cannibal insects on Mutant Island.
The more she read, the tighter her brow knitted, it turned out to be something extracted from the prototype to help humans evolve.
Splitting, regenerating, an incredible Healing Power, this was strikingly similar to the bugs on Mutant Island.
Su Mo put the document down, a feeling of unease flooding her heart. She suppressed her emotions and put the document back in place.
Circling the desk, she walked over to the bed where a neatly folded short-sleeve shirt on the nightstand caught her eye.
"Hmm?" Su Mo sat on the bed, she spread out the shirt, and the dark red bloodstain on it caused her ears to turn red. She muttered angrily, "This pervert!"
Moments of distant memory broke through; it was the most memorable time for her when she got her period blood on his shirt during a fight in the prison.
He had told her last time that he lost it, but she never expected that he would have kept it secret!
Feeling her face burning, Su Mo clenched the shirt and entered the bathroom.
She turned on the tap, and with the small bar of soap on the counter, she started scrubbing vigorously at the stain.
However, too much time had passed, and she didn’t know how long the shirt had been out. She changed the water twice, unable to scrub away the mark.
Engrossed in scrubbing, she selectively ignored the sound of someone coming up the stairs.
After scanning the first floor, Lu Chen headed upstairs.
"What are you doing?" He walked into the room and leaned against the wall beside the door, his brow slightly furrowed.
Su Mo’s hand paused as she wrung out the clothes, pouring water over them before casually flicking them dry, "I saw Admiral Lu’s clothes were dirty, so I decided to wash them for you."
"Oh?"
The man walked into the bathroom, with a bang shut the door behind him and approached her, "Wash it for what purpose?"
Su Mo turned around, holding the clothes somewhat annoyed, "Lu Chen, don’t you know what’s on this?!"
Upon seeing that faint red stain, a flicker of embarrassment passed through Lu Chen’s eyes. He leaned down, maintaining his composure, to meet her gaze, "I’ve lost my memory."
"Lost your memory?" Su Mo hadn’t forgotten about this, she threw the clothes at him and raised her eyebrows, "You’ve lost your memory, yet you can still bring this out?"
"Perhaps there are some fragments of memory," he said as he threw the clothes into the basin. His hands propped up on the washstand, encircling her, while the scent of faint tobacco invaded her nostrils.
Su Mo stared at his Adam’s apple and unconsciously swallowed, her hand bracing against his shoulder, she said sternly, "Admiral, I am currently your cook."
"Mhm," the man stared at her with an ambiguous tone, "What exactly should a cook do?"
"Cook meals, of course. And I expect to be paid," said Su Mo as she saw him leaning closer and bent down to slip out from underneath him.
A pair of large hands gripped her waist, lifting her straight onto the washstand.
Su Mo was startled and immediately started to kick at him, "Lu Chen, that’s enough, don’t overstep."
Lu Chen, holding her hands, pressed in closer between her legs with a teasing look in his eyes, "Isn’t it eating we’re talking about? You can do it right now."
Their pose was suggestive, and she uncomfortably tried to shrink back, ultimately finding her back against the mirror behind her.
"What exactly do you want to do?" she asked helplessly.
Those deep blue eyes darkened in an instant, his prominent nose nudged her own, he whispered softly, "To eat."
Unable to resist the allure, Su Mo’s body softened at the mention of ’eating,’ but she still turned her head away firmly, "First, I want to ask you something."
"Go ahead."
"Who am I?"
"My wife."
Lu Chen gave his three-word answer with unusual decisiveness.
Su Mo turned her head, her eyes alight with amusement.
Sensing her lack of resistance.
The man lowered his head and captured her lips with his, starting with gentle tasting and progressing to nibbling and biting.
Only when he sensed that her breathing was noticeably ragged did Su Mo start to struggle out of his kiss, "Enough, enough!"
Lu Chen suppressed the rising beastly desire in his chest, and after satisfyingly stroking her visibly swollen and reddened lips with his fingertip, he lifted her off the washstand.
Su Mo caught her breath in his arms, "What happened when you returned?"
The man sat down with her at the desk inside the room, "There was an accident."
"Were you ambushed?" Su Mo looked up at him as she brushed aside a few strands of his slightly long hair.
"Hypnotized, memory not fully recovered," he planted a kiss on her palm, and the sharpness in his eyes was well concealed.
"Was Sun Cheng the same?"
"Mhm."
Su Mo withdrew her hand, not needing to think deeply to know whose doing it was, "How long until you’re fully recovered?"
"Very soon."
"Very soon?" Su Mo could guess with her toes whose doing it was, she grabbed his collar in one swift move, forcing him to look down, "You’ve already given him the data from Southern Island, what else is he not satisfied with that he’d do this to you?"
Seeing her grinding her teeth in concern for him, Lu Chen’s eyes gleamed with pleasure, his voice low and gentle, "I’ll handle it."
