The Chef Rules the Last Days
Chapter 235 - 233: Collapse

Chapter 235: Chapter 233: Collapse

Lu Chen channeled his superpower to fend off the myriad of flying light spots. When he turned back to see her, his pupils darkened, "Go down and wait for me!"

Su Mo refused decisively, shaking the Tang Blade in her hand, "Take down the ice wall, you’re consuming too much energy. Call for those groups to come up and support, I am faster, come and help me."

Without waiting for his agreement, she charged towards the ice wall, Tang Blade in hand.

Lu Chen glanced at her and finally gave orders to the person beside him who was constantly projecting superpower onto the vines.

All the soldiers stepped back, and one of them turned and ran quickly downstairs.

The next second, the ice wall in the middle of both sides collapsed rapidly without the support of superpower.

Suddenly, two spherical objects thrown by Lu Chen flew past Su Mo. She immediately turned and caught them. They looked like C-4 explosives but were smaller in size than C-4.

She tossed the bombs into her System Bag, then stepped on the shattered ice as she continued to rush forward.

Zombies with the ability to control plants and fire—the likes of which she had never seen before.

Brandishing her Tang Blade, she rushed into the midst of the vines shimmering with dazzling light spots.

What came into sight were intertwined plants, all targeting her in a unified assault.

Su Mo stepped on the vines rushing at her feet and leapt high, twisting in the air to dodge those purple flowers.

Around her, frost descended, formed by the tiny crystals clinging to her body.

Any light spot that neared her was instantly shattered, as though she were encased in a protective shell.

Relieved, she stopped deliberately dodging those light spots and put her whole heart into charging towards the half-human, half-plant storm’s center.

The ceiling above was pierced by plants, large chunks of it falling off and the roots buried under the floor tiles all sprang out, bringing with them the bloodthirsty petals of the Cannibal Flower.

When Jin Han and Mo Yan each led people up, what they saw was this scene.

The sight of Su Mo in the eye of the storm startled them. He quickly yelled, "Quickly! Support her!"

Everyone scattered, unleashing their superpowers at the wildly dancing plants, trying to clear more space for Su Mo. The Water Element Superpower User beside Jin Han took action, creating a massive water curtain from above. A deluge of fresh water fell from overhead, extinguishing the light spots.

Soaked by the water, Su Mo needed to keep jumping on the vines. However, with the vines increasing in number around her, the distance was still too short, and too many were obstructing her path, rendering her unable to throw the bomb over.

Her brain worked at high speed; it was blood that had stirred those petals earlier.

Then, Su Mo glanced at her own arm and as she jumped to the next point, she cut her arm without hesitation. Blood sprayed onto the vines beneath her feet.

Instantly attracted by the scent of blood, all the vines rushed towards her even more frantically. Su Mo immediately jumped away, blood continuing to scatter along her path onto the vines.

Those monsters simply lacked intelligence, swarming towards her, led by a trail of fresh blood, and twisted into a knot.

Seeing her hurt, Lu Chen’s heart tightened. He looked at the water curtain created by the Water Element Superpower User above and unleashed all his superpower to freeze the entire water curtain solidly.

As the huge ice ceiling fell, Lu Chen rushed to pull her away, and Su Mo threw the bomb toward the fully exposed monster.

A violent explosion erupted beneath the ice disk.

Ice and rubble flew in all directions, and everyone ducked for cover.

Su Mo was pressed down beneath him, tightly protected in his embrace.

The intense blast nearly pierced Su Mo’s fragile eardrums.

That buzzing noise lingered in her ears, refusing to fade for a long time.

A mass of powdered debris fell from the ceiling, and the entire building began to sway precariously. Su Mo was pulled to her feet, her eyes glazing over in confusion.

"Let’s go," Lu Chen said in her ear, but she couldn’t hear. She just pointed to the blasted area where plants had been and shouted, "Crystal Stones!"

The man let go of her and ran to pick up the Crystal Stones, stuffing them into her hand, "Let’s go."

Su Mo tossed the Tang Blade and the Crystal Stones into her bag and finally felt satisfied, what a blood profit, a Level 5 Wood Element Crystal Stone.

Lu Chen grabbed her hand and hurriedly led the crowd down the stairs of the building.

Starting from the 15th floor, the twenty-story building began to break in half, accompanied by the deafening sound of the walls compressing, cracking, and collapsing, like a harbinger of death.

The group of people sprinted through the floors.

Su Mo’s ears were filled with various sounds, but none were as intense as the ringing in her ears.

The floor beneath their feet kept tilting, signaling that the whole house was collapsing to one side.

If they continued running to the ground floor at this rate, they would certainly be buried inside.

Lu Chen scanned the terrain and, when they reached the 5th floor with a large platform, he saw a chandelier swinging vertically outside the railing. He scooped Su Mo up around the waist, "Hold on tight."

"What did you say?!" Su Mo couldn’t help but exclaim loudly.

Lu Chen: "..."

He adjusted her into a koala-like position and charged toward the railing. Using the handrail, he leaped into the air and grabbed the huge chandelier dangling in mid-air, sliding down vertically.

It was then that Su Mo realized what he had said and immediately tightened her legs around his waist.

Just as the chandelier completely broke off, the two reached the first floor, with numerous cement slabs collapsing from above.

Some at the lower levels chose to jump out of windows, while others followed their lead and leaped directly down.

But fortunately, everyone managed to rush out before the building collapsed.

The enormous sound of the building collapsing behind them stirred some of the zombies hidden in buildings and the distance into a frenzy.

Once outside, Su Mo’s ears finally felt much better. She immediately jumped off Lu Chen’s back. Both of them were covered in a thick layer of white dust. She searched through the crowd for Zhao Changsheng and Li Qian.

When she saw familiar figures not far off by the roadside, she breathed a sigh of relief and hurried over to check on Zhao Changsheng in his arms, whose closed eyes and high fever made Su Mo’s heart race again, "Zhao Changsheng, I swear, if you turn, we’re done, do you hear me!"

Zhao Changsheng’s eyelashes immediately trembled upon hearing her voice. Li Qian gave a wry smile, "Seems like your words do the trick."

Su Mo looked worried. Suddenly, her ears twitched, and she exchanged a glance with Li Qian before they both said in unison, "The zombies are coming!"

Su Mo immediately took out the vehicle, calling out to Jin Han who was behind her, "Everyone, get on the car! The horde is coming."

By the time Mo Yan came over asking for the vehicle, he and his people were in a sorry state; out of ten, only seven remained.

Ruo Lin stepped forward and offered half of their packed food, placing it in front of Su Mo, "We’ll take the lift."

"Are you insane, do you know how long this half could feed us?!" Ai Yang angrily grabbed Ruo Lin’s hand, and because of a missing tooth, he sprayed saliva on Ruo Lin’s face.

Ruo Lin wiped her face and sneered coldly, "Without a vehicle, how will you walk back?"

Mo Yan pulled Ai Yang away, "Alright, we promised Su Mo."

Su Mo had no intention of sympathizing with the forlorn expression on their faces. She packed the food from the ground into the System Bag and threw out two vehicles, "Pleasant cooperation."
