Chapter 221: Chapter 219: I’m Very Sweet

Su Mo bit her lip, then smiled and asked, "I wanted to ask, apart from Admiral Lu, where are the other people?"

"They’ve been relocated to the Superpower District of the Second Ring. This house has been requisitioned by Admiral Lu," the soldier replied politely.

Su Mo nodded. She looked up again at the familiar villa, took two steps back, and said, "Could you please take me to them? I am a member of their team."

She withdrew her gaze.

As a superpower user, she always received more preferential treatment; promptly, someone called for a car.

"If you could, please take this to him for me," Su Mo removed the cherry hair tie she’d always worn in her hair and placed it in the palm of a soldier, thanked them again, and then stepped into the car.

Out of the Jiang Residence’s villa emerged a tall figure, passing by the car.

"Admiral Lu!"

"Admiral Lu!"

The two guards at the door immediately saluted.

"Hmm," the man’s gaze was icy, and the chill emanating from around him was almost suffocating.

Only after the person had entered did the two soldiers at the door start to whisper.

"Should we report the matter of the young lady just now?" the soldier asked, conflicted, still holding the cute cherry hair tie in his hand.

"She’s able to hang around with that demoness; better to report it," another soldier said.

Both were new and unaware of the situation.

Eventually, after hesitating for a while, they entered the villa.

In a dim room, Lu Chen took off his coat and threw it on the bed. At the bedside table lay a short sleeve shirt with a faint dark red mark on it. He glanced at it, his fingertips rubbing the small red beans strung on his wrist, leaned against the window, lost in thought.

The door was knocked.

The man collected his thoughts, "Come in."

"Reporting, Admiral Lu, this was sent by a superpower user," the soldier approached him with trepidation, extending his hand.

Lu Chen looked down to see a cherry hair tie lying on his rough, calloused palm.

He made no move for some time.

The soldier almost began to sweat, "Sorry, Admiral Lu, I’ll go and throw this away now."

No sooner had he finished speaking than the hair tie was taken by a pair of slender, well-defined hands. The cold touch startled the soldier, but he felt relieved at heart and quickly left.

The room returned to silence; Lu Chen’s grip on the hair tie in his palm tightened. He moved the tie to rest next to his heart, leaned against the wall with thin lips breathing heavily, his phoenix eyes slightly hazy.

After leaning against the wall for a while, he suddenly picked up his jacket from the bed and left the room.

Su Mo leaned against the car, watching as it drove into the Second Ring and stopped in front of an apartment building.

It was not the old-style residential building she had been to before but stood at the end of a bustling street: an isolated high-rise, previously a single-person apartment floor, which had become a place for high-level superpower users to live.

Su Mo got out of the car and was guided by the soldiers up the building.

The building was tall, the elevator stopped at the 20th floor, its interior was very clean.

"Miss Su, here’s room 207," the soldier said before leaving.

She arrived in front of room number 207 and knocked on the door.

Soon, the sound of light footsteps approached, and the door opened.

The person who appeared startled Su Mo—it wasn’t Zhao Changsheng, but a cute young girl who looked about sixty to seventy percent similar to herself.

The other party also paused upon seeing her, and asked, "Who are you looking for?"

Su Mo raised a smile, "Does Zhao Changsheng live here?"

"Yes, but who are you?"

"Su Mo."

The girl was visibly surprised upon hearing the name, "Please come in quickly."

Su Mo had a big question mark in her mind, but she walked into the house nonetheless.

The interior was very cozy. Touching the large hamster plush pillow on the sofa softened Su Mo’s gaze a bit; the temperamental Zhao Changsheng could actually tolerate so many cute things.

Xiaoqiao brought over a glass of water. Seeing her staring at the hamster pillow, she felt a tad embarrassed. Placing the water on the coffee table, as if inadvertently she said, "That, was a gift Changsheng brought back for me from a mission."

Su Mo withdrew her gaze and sat down on the sofa, "That’s nice, where is she?"

Xiaoqiao’s face turned a bit red as she spoke of it, "She has her period these days, and she’s been helping me... have some water."

Su Mo had an understanding look and with a flick of her hand, she took out a large pack of Su Fei Little Bunny and placed it at her feet, "Consider this a gift...uh, as a meeting present."

The words "sister-in-law" got stuck in Su Mo’s throat, and she felt somewhat awkward. She really didn’t know how to address Zhao Changsheng’s woman, "sister-in-law" seemed even stranger...

Su Mo’s constipated expression made Xiaoqiao, her face red, wave her hands, "She just kindly brought me here, there’s nothing between us."

Su Mo smiled, a look of understanding on her face. At the door, Zhao Changsheng’s coquettish voice rang out, "Qiaoqiao, I’m back!"

Zhao Changsheng hadn’t changed much, just like in her memory, with a stunning figure, delicate facial features, truly a foxy spirit.

She walked in carrying a black bag and holding a bunch of mutated roses. Upon seeing the person on the sofa, her steps halted, and the flowers dropped to the floor.

Xiaoqiao hurried over to pick them up, "What are you doing! Those were such nice flowers, and now they’re ruined."

"I’m sorry," said Zhao Changsheng with her mouth, but her eyes were fixed firmly on Su Mo’s face, and she placed her bag to one side.

Su Mo looked at her expression with some amusement, "What’s wrong, got silly?"

She waved her hand in front of her face.

Zhao Changsheng’s every step seemed weighed down with lead. She approached her, her trembling hand caressing her face, "Mo... Momo, you’re still alive?"

Her slightly upturned fox eyes were instantly filled with tears. Su Mo, feeling pity, wiped away her tears, "Why are you crying? You want me dead that badly?"

Xiaoqiao stood aside, feeling a bit out of place for a moment, so she placed the roses on the coffee table and went inside.

"Stop crying already, go and give the flowers to someone," Su Mo patted her shoulder.

"We all thought you were dead," Zhao Changsheng clung to her, almost burying half of Su Mo’s body in her embrace.

"Didn’t you hear the main point of what I said?" Su Mo frustratingly freed herself.

Zhao Changsheng sniffed, "Wait for me."

She grabbed the flowers from the coffee table and went into the room. The whole process from entering to coming out didn’t take thirty seconds.

Su Mo was speechless; was this not quite the right time for her to come?

"Where are Li Qian and the others?"

Zhao Changsheng stared at her straight on, "He’s living with Su Niang and Ling Ye at 21st floor, 208. The apartments here are too small to fit so many of us."

Su Mo nodded in understanding and then suggested with a smile, "It’s not early anymore, how about we go call them to have dinner?"

"Good!" Zhao Changsheng pinched her face, the touch of her fingertips filled with joy and excitement, "Tonight, tell us all about it."

Seeing her agree so readily, Su Mo was even more amused, "Then you’re paying. I’m completely broke now."

"Of course," Zhao Changsheng stood up, "I’ll go call Qiaoqiao."

"Hmm, I’ll go find Li Qian first," she said, rising and heading out the door toward the upper floors.

The door was opened by Ling Ye, "Who are you looking for?"
