Chapter 210: Chapter 208: Being the Scapegoat

Lu Jin turned his head, his gaze meeting the air, with his little hand waving in the air, "Are you saying ’no’?"

The child’s comprehension was truly sharp, Su Mo nodded her head, and again tapped in the palm of his hand.

Lu Jin smiled. Although it was just a slight upward curve of his mouth, Su Mo was certain he was smiling. What was there to laugh about? Indeed, a deviant mind works differently.

"Then I will reluctantly believe you this time."

Lu Jin stood up, his body marked with scars, and began to eat the meal brought in by the nanny, taking small bites.

Su Mo lay propped at the table, watching him eat. She wondered when these days would end. How wonderful it would be if the one in front of her was Lu Chen. She couldn’t help but wish that she could see him before she died, as that would make her very happy.

A commotion arose downstairs, and she snapped back to her senses, controlling her body to float down.

In the opulent first-floor living room, Lu Youwei sat on the central sofa, with Fang Ya and Fang Lian seated on either side.

Initially, Fang Lian was thrilled about the pregnancy. The doctor had announced it was a month along, and she had just informed Lu Youwei when an uninvited guest interrupted.

Su Mo could not help but marvel at Lu Youwei’s virility - three wives, all stunning.

Li Chuan, when he was young, was also fair-skinned with a ruddy complexion and bright red lips.

"So, you brought the child here today specifically to tell me something?" The cup in Fang Lian’s hand was almost beyond her control, nearly smashing it out. Indeed, she had just managed to get rid of this woman, yet fate played a huge joke on her.

She had secretly given birth to a child without them knowing!

"I only hope that my son can grow up well here. I will absolutely not interfere with his life," Ping Lili knelt before the three of them, clutching Li Chuan, her eyes brimming with tears. "I know I was wrong that night, it was all a mistake, but the child is already born. Old Master Lu, he is your flesh and blood."

Fang Ya was nearly unable to stay seated, her tears falling in plinks and plonks. Without saying another word, she got up and ran. As she passed Su Mo, she shivered.

Lu Youwei called after her a few times and, seeing her disappear into the distance, he grew anxious and stood up from the sofa: "Fang Lian, arrange for her to stay."

What a melodramatic soap opera.

Su Mo rolled her eyes. She couldn’t stand to watch anymore and wished she could die a swift death.

She floated back to Lu Jin’s room. The little person inside had already fallen asleep.

She floated in front of him. The boy didn’t open his eyes, but the distinct chill in the air, he certainly felt it: "Scaredy-cat, something happened downstairs?"

As sensitive as he was, he had already sensed something out of the ordinary.

Su Mo distanced herself from him. Deep down, she really didn’t want him to know about this; it would probably intensify his darkness.

In the middle of the night, there was some noise in the hallway. Su Mo looked at the person sound asleep on the bed and floated out, only to be shocked by the scene in front of her.

Fang Lian, holding scissors, stabbed Ping Lili again and again.

And she did so brazenly, right outside Lu Jin’s room door.

Li Chuan’s mother, she wasn’t killed by Lu Jin!

"Crap!" Su Mo thought to return to the room to fetch Lu Jin, but as she turned around, the little person had already opened the door and stood there.

When Fang Lian saw Lu Jin, she threw the dead Ping Lili to the ground, her gaze becoming vacant: "One after another, non-stop, I’ve given you chances."

She saw Lu Jin standing in the corner and suddenly let out a chuckle, caressing her belly. The doctor had said that this child, was likely to be another son: "Lu Jin, come here."

Lu Jin obediently closed the door and walked over barefoot.

Su Mo positioned herself in front of him; he felt the icy presence but still moved forward, silently mumbling, and she heard what he said,

"Don’t worry."

Her body was passed through, and she didn’t worry, but just thought this kid was a tragedy of humanity.

Lu Jin finally reached Fang Lian’s side, and there, the woman handed him a pair of scissors.

"Take it."

Lu Jin did not take them, but simply looked up at her with eyes that were eerily calm: "Mom, may I not take them?"

"Does Lu Jin want to refuse me?" Fang Lian’s bloodstained palm pulled him over, and she stuffed the scissors into Lu Jin’s hand.

"Mom, what does it feel like to kill someone?" Lu Jin asked indifferently.

Confronted with her son’s flat and emotionless gaze, Fang Lian suddenly felt a jolt in her heart, and then she smiled, "It’s a feeling that can make you happy. Stay here, Mom will go find someone to clean up the body."

"Oh."

"Mom," he called out again.

Fang Lian turned to look at him.

Lu Jin said softly, "For the last time."

As Fang Lian staggered away, Lu Jin stared blankly at the scissors in his hand, unresponsive to Su Mo’s poking.

"I want to try it."

That’s all she heard him say.

Su Mo was stunned. Then she saw Lu Jin stabbing the scissors into Ping Lili’s palm.

She didn’t miss the flash of red in Lu Jin’s eyes, and then, a piercing scream filled the hallway. Su Mo looked up to see the young Li Chuan.

Fang Lian did not keep her promise to find someone to clean up the body, instead, she drenched her own son, Lu Jin, with all the water.

Su Mo didn’t understand why she could bring herself to do it, but on second thought, it was highly possible that her mind was already disturbed.

Which normal woman could tolerate her husband’s serial infidelities and still live together?

Sigh.

As a murderer, Lu Jin was unnervingly calm. Lu Youwei wouldn’t harm his own son for a mistress. After ordering people to seal the lips and clean the hallway, he gave Lu Jin a beating and then stormed off in anger.

Su Mo witnessed everything, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

She saw him, stumbling and covered in blood, getting up from the ground. Unconsciously, she reached out her hand, but it passed right through him.

"Coward, you lied to me."

Su Mo was puzzled.

"So it turns out, the sound of skin being pierced can truly make me happy."

"..." Su Mo could only sigh, her mind echoing the same words over and over, "This is twisted, so twisted."

She followed Lu Jin out of the villa and into the backyard garden. She watched him crouch by the pond, seemingly deep in thought.

Suddenly, Lu Jin said, "I want to meet you."

Su Mo walked over and crouched beside him, a bit confused about what he was up to.

Faint footsteps caused Su Mo to turn around. It was the little Li Chuan, his face streaked with tears yet laughing unrestrainedly. He stood behind Lu Jin: "Go die."

The voice was cold, filled with extreme hatred.

"Splash."

Lu Jin fell into the pond without any resistance, Li Chuan ran off, and Su Mo looked back and forth between him and the pond.

The small figure kept sinking into the water, not struggling at all.

Su Mo really hadn’t expected that he would still harbor thoughts of dying!

There was not a soul around, and she began an internal struggle in her mind, which eventually led her to the conclusion that this was just an illusion, and the real Lu Jin had already reached adulthood.

In other words, the Lu Jin she was seeing now was not the real Lu Jin but just an ungrown child.

Yet she still wanted to save this poor child.

"Ah! Why do I have such bad luck?" She stomped her foot in the air before diving into the water, attempting to reach Lu Jin’s small body.
