Chapter 205: Chapter 203: Escape

Su Mo turned her head to look at Lu Jin, whose gaze was dark and filled with violence, "You must cooperate with us."

"Of course, Miss Su," Lu Jin lifted his eyes to look at her and walked directly to Lu Chen’s side, signaling for the earthen wall to be taken down.

Above them, the monsters’ roars and the wriggling sounds of the insects became even louder.

Lu Chen turned to look at Jianxiong and threw a Biluochun Tea to him, "Can you hold on?"

With many people around, Jianxiong didn’t drink the medicine, but instead patted his chest and said hoarsely, "What’s this injury count for, let’s talk after we get out."

The two sides, originally mortal enemies, had to cooperate because of the unexpected situation with Li Chuan.

The door was opened, and Lu Chen, carrying Su Mo, led the charge out.

Ahead of them were white insects continuously falling downward.

Lu Chen activated his superpower, and the air around him fluctuated, shredding any insects that got close to him into pieces.

Su Mo couldn’t help but silently marvel at the formidable strength of a Level 5 Space superpower.

At the elevator entrance, there was a ladder covered by a metal plate, leading to the opening of the pipe below.

The injured people went down first, while the uninjured superpower users kept using their skills at the opening above them.

Su Mo was directly carried on Lu Chen’s back, and the man said in a deep voice, "Hold tight."

Su Mo nodded her head, and he quickly descended the ladder.

Although Jianxiong’s leg was ruined, it didn’t affect his speed while going down at all.

His remarkable arm strength made him even faster than a normal person.

"Ssss"

It was the sound of a snake flicking its tongue.

Su Mo felt a chill run down her spine as she looked up to see the python, coiling around the entrance and spiraling down.

The last superpower user to descend was directly bitten, his upper body swallowed whole into the snake’s belly without even a scream.

"Hurry down!" Su Mo shouted downward.

Everyone’s footsteps sped up more than twofold.

Su Mo and Lu Chen were very high up, with only Peng An in front of them, as abilities continued to strike the snake’s head, but its hard scales were impervious to their attacks.

It was too slow, and Peng An’s legs were trembling; he could already smell the repulsive stench from the snake’s mouth.

"Peng An, use your vines to jump down!" Su Mo, hanging on Lu Chen’s back, shouted to the top.

Peng An snapped back to reality, released his vines in a fluster to tie one end to the ladder, and looked down with a trembling voice, "Admiral Lu... what about... you guys?"

"Stop the nonsense and get moving," Lu Chen said impatiently.

It was then that Peng An began to descend with the vines.

Next, a long flame burst forth from the snake’s mouth, heading straight towards Lu Chen.

He quickly supported Su Mo’s legs, let go of the ladder, and leapt out into a rapid free fall.

A crack split open in mid-air, and Lu Chen carried Su Mo through it.

Su Mo couldn’t quite describe the feeling—as if her body was suddenly torn apart and then pieced back together in an instant. Her vision blurred, and she saw the bottom of the pipe.

There was a distance in the torn space, and Lu Chen carried her through two transfers before they reached the bottom.

In an instant, he controlled the ability with perfect precision, and neither of them was harmed.

At the bottom of the well was knee-deep sewage with a hint of salty fish, probably collected from the surface.

"Are you okay?" Lu Chen propped up her backside, feeling her heartbeat thudding rapidly against his back.

"Thrilling," Su Mo hugged his neck and took a breath.

Lu Chen’s thin lips curled slightly as he led her to rush through the bottom of the well.

Behind them were the hissing roars of pythons and various mutant monsters.

They had the dubious honor of being at the very back.

Jianxiong, carried by Sun Cheng, ran at the front. Turning his head and seeing Lu Chen, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Lu Jin’s men had already appeared at the front. At the end of the passage was a glimmer of light.

Everyone sped up and rushed toward it, only to slam to a stop at the edge.

It was a cliff, a thousand feet above the sea surface—this passage led straight to the ocean!

All the water from inside the pipe had been drained into this sea.

The salty wind gusted into the pipe. To jump down was to die.

"What do we do?" Desperation was written all over Sun Cheng’s face.

When Lu Chen caught up with them, he stopped, with the rapidly approaching mutant monsters behind him.

Lu Jin turned to face Lu Chen, "Call your Wood Element superpower user. Let’s work together."

Lu Chen gave him a cold glare but didn’t object. Peng An stepped forward and cooperated quickly with the superpower user by Lu Jin’s side. They extended vines up the cliff face, intertwining each other’s mutated tendrils that stretched straight to the top.

Su Mo was set down, with the first wave of attacks arriving imminently.

Lu Chen took a sip of Jasmine Tea, and the temperature in the tunnel dropped sharply. It seemed as though all the moisture in the air had condensed.

The breath Su Mo exhaled came out with a layer of mist.

She looked at Lu Chen in surprise, wondering what skill this was.

The man’s silver hair seemed to have turned pure white, and slowly the moisture in the air formed visible white particles, like snowflakes, attacking the horde of mutants.

Wherever it passed, blood splattered.

Su Mo’s pupils constricted, magnifying those tiny particles to the extreme. Only then did she see that they were Ice Crystals, as sharp as steel needles and incredibly penetrative.

The bugs that had come through the water were all sliced into pieces.

Quite the display of power!

Everyone was amazed by his skill, and they were internally shocked by the terrifying control he had demonstrated right after his promotion.

Even the wildly rampaging python had its eyes pierced and rolled frantically through the tunnel.

"Ready! Go now!" Peng An shouted, leading the other Wood Element superpower user as they climbed up the cliff face.

Everyone came back to their senses and quickly climbed out of the tunnel, rock climbing in the high altitude, a true test of mental fortitude.

At least Su Mo hung entirely onto Lu Chen, having just recovered she didn’t have much strength left. Her legs were tightly clasped around his waist, the howling sea breeze by her ears like the wailing of ghosts and wolves.

A loud crash came from below. Su Mo looked back down.

The blinded snake had fallen into the sea, causing huge splashes, followed by a swarm of mutant fish surging towards it.

Su Mo turned back around, and by the time they had climbed to the top, everyone was already exhausted.

Lu Jin, with two broken ribs, was also in bad shape. Even after taking medicine, the bones poking into his flesh made his face pale, especially when he looked at Su Mo and saw a hint of doubt in his eyes.

Her complexion didn’t seem as bad as it had been when she was under his care.

"Are you okay?" Su Mo stepped down from Lu Chen’s back, grabbed his hand to inspect it, and seeing that his palm was clean without any wounds, she felt relieved.

"Mhmm," Lu Chen said little, just bent down to pick her up again: "Does it still hurt?"

Su Mo was startled, about to say she wasn’t in pain, but the large hand around her waist tightened for no reason. She turned and met Lu Jin’s bottomless dark pupils and understood. Her face turned pale, and she collapsed into his arms: "It hurts."

"Miss Su seems to be in good color," Lu Jin, clutching his stomach, walked over, his face pale, obviously from pain.

Su Mo ignored him, burying her face in Lu Chen’s chest and whimpering softly.
