Chapter 202: Chapter 200: Give Up

Su Mo couldn’t help but retreat a few steps to evade his aggressiveness, "Stop them from fighting, and I’ll take you back."

"Of course, I want to return, but I need to eat a lot to have the strength to go back and do research," Dr. Jiang replied, seemingly off-topic, but his eyes fixed on her like a predator eyeing its prey.

He was very hungry. The bodies in the laboratory were no longer fresh. Only by letting them kill each other could he eat enough to return to the human world and change himself back to his original form.

Su Mo hit the wall, her sense of crisis screaming inside her.

As Dr. Jiang approached, he said, "How could Su Yao send his own daughter here? You’re really like sent snacks."

"Who is Su Yao? My parents don’t have that name," Su Mo feigned calmness, her gaze locking onto the U-disk he held in his intact hand.

"Hehe," Dr. Jiang was clearly dissatisfied with her answer. Huge tentacles with suckers lunged straight for her chest.

Su Mo quickly crouched down and hugged her head as a tentacle struck the metal wall behind her, with such impact that it dented the wall.

The energy emanating from the creature was strong, beyond her. Su Mo knew she was no match, but her eyes remained fixed on the pocket where the U-disk was. She had to find a way to get it.

"Be a good girl and let me eat you clean." Jiang Zhou’s numerous flesh-colored tentacles, a total of five, came at her like a net she couldn’t escape from.

She mustered all her speed, attempting to run to the door of the control room, but she wasn’t faster than the tentacles chasing after her.

Thick tentacles restrained her waist. Huge suckers clung tightly to her body as she was rapidly pulled backward. With a "bang," she was thrown against the control panel’s metal wall, shattering the electronic screens hanging there.

Su Mo cried out in pain as the Tang Blade fell from her hand, tossed up onto the counter.

She could clearly hear the sound of her ribs breaking.

Agnizing pain turned her face deathly pale. She wanted to get up and retrieve the blade, but catching a glimpse of a piece of clothing approaching, she came up with an idea.

Seeing her lying motionless like a dead fish, Jiang Zhou laughed louder. He stuck out his deformed tongue and licked his lips, his eyes bright with excitement as he walked over.

The tentacles coiled Su Mo in mid-air, bringing her closer to him bit by bit.

The pressure on her waist threatened to pierce the broken bones through her delicate frame. Su Mo bit her tongue, telling herself to endure a little longer.

The stench grew stronger, and Jiang Zhou’s lower jaw unhinged, revealing a row of sharply pointed teeth.

Standing in the darkness, Lu Jin did not make a move. He seemed to be reveling in the feast for the eyes that the monster provided. His dark pupils glowed with a bewitching intoxication, eager to watch her bleed and be torn apart, which must be beautiful.

Just as her throat was about to be pierced, a large iron pot suddenly appeared in Su Mo’s hand and smashed down on Jiang Zhou’s head.

The pot that appeared out of nowhere caused the expression on Lu Jin, hidden in the shadows, to twitch, and soon, the corners of his mouth curled into an increasingly large grin. It was becoming more and more interesting.

"Ah! Damn woman!"

His head suddenly struck by an unknown object, Jiang Zhou’s tentacles loosened, all redirecting towards his own head.

Su Mo fell from mid-air. Seizing the moment of confusion, she reached for the U-disk in his pocket.

The space rippled and her hand grabbed at nothingness; Jiang Zhou had just removed the pot when a strange surge of air blasted him against the metal wall.

Su Mo cursed under her breath, enduring the pain. What she saw were a pair of boots stained with blood and dirt. Looking up, it was Lu Jin’s unmistakably mocking face, and behind him, there was no sign of Lu Chen.

A pang of anxiety hit her, "Where is Lu Chen!"

"Dead," Lu Jin said casually, striding past her toward Jiang Zhou.

"Dead?" Su Mo’s expression became vacant, her mind starting to blank, and her heart felt nearly suffocated as if gripped by an invisible giant hand. She turned to look at the electronic screen on the wall for surveillance, but she had smashed it to pieces, and she could no longer see him.

The pain of her fractured ribs seemed to become insignificant as she picked herself off the ground and picked up the Tang Blade, her steps wobbly, "You said he, is dead?"

Lu Jin, who was confronting Jiang Zhou, turned to look at her upon hearing this, taking in the rich scent of blood in the air. A flicker of red passed through his eyes, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly, "Dead."

It was a cold, heartless response.

Clutching the blade, Su Mo’s pupils lost their color, and the damp fringe sticking to her forehead fell. After a moment, she looked up, her voice dead calm, "Then, you can go die as well."

Lu Jin had just shredded an attacking tentacle when he suddenly felt a chill on his back.

Space tore open, and he was no longer in his original place, leaving the blood-steeped Tang Blade to chop down on the metallic ground, creating a fissure.

Lu Jin, with his keen senses, noticed something unusual about Su Mo. A cruel smile formed on his lips, and the desire to kill surged within him.

Jiang Zhou, already at a disadvantage against Lu Jin, actually felt relieved with Su Mo’s intervention. He looked her over again and swiftly detected the change in her—a fully functioning eye discerning her stark transformation.

At that moment, Su Mo was like a soulless doll; each of her strikes was a lethal killing move.

He had thought that killing a Level 3 superpower user was just a matter of seconds, but Lu Jin quickly realized something was off as he opened up another spatial rift to evade Su Mo.

Her killing moves had improved beyond recognition, now so fast he could barely catch them.

What’s going on?

After dodging the Tang Blade again, Lu Jin was suddenly flung against the metal wall by Jiang Zhou, whom he had momentarily ignored.

The killing intent in his heart was completely ignited by her, and blood trailed from the corner of his mouth, stimulating his brain. He released all his superpower energy to confront Su Mo.

Around them was pitch black.

Su Mo sat quietly, utterly motionless.

Su Mo showed no reaction.

[Warning: Body functionality is damaged.]

The warning in her mind grew louder with each repetition, finally piercing through her eardrums. Su Mo lifted her head, her voice calm, "Then let it be broken."

[Host is bound to the God Chef System; the system will shatter upon your death. Please, do not act rashly.]

"This is the first time you’ve shown such a human-like fear of death," Su Mo said, and then she laughed, though not a trace of emotion flickered at the bottom of her eyes.

The system fell silent for a moment, then in front of Su Mo, the scene unfolded like an old film being played, showing her and Lu Chen in combat. She was like a killing machine, her fight power soaring.

[Host, please don’t be controlled by the meteorite energy. Soon, your body will burst due to the overload of absorbed energy.]

"Oh, where am I now?" Su Mo asked irrelevantly, staring blankly at the screen, watching how she inflicted wound after wound on Lu Chen, only to be beaten down and unable to rise again.
